Third Sunday of Advent
Reading 1 Is 61:1-2A, 10-11
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
because the LORD has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor,
to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and release to the prisoners,
to announce a year of favor from the LORD
and a day of vindication by our God.
I rejoice heartily in the LORD,
in my God is the joy of my soul;
for he has clothed me with a robe of salvation
and wrapped me in a mantle of justice,
like a bridegroom adorned with a diadem,
like a bride bedecked with her jewels.
As the earth brings forth its plants,
and a garden makes its growth spring up,
so will the Lord GOD make justice and praise
spring up before all the nations.

May the God of peace make you perfectly holy

Gospel Jn 1:6-8, 19-28
A man named John was sent from God.
He came for testimony, to testify to the light,
so that all might believe through him.
He was not the light,
but came to testify to the light.
And this is the testimony of John.
When the Jews from Jerusalem sent priests
and Levites to him
to ask him, â Who are you?â
He admitted and did not deny it,
but admitted, â I am not the Christ.â
So they asked him,
â What are you then? Are you Elijah?â
And he said, â I am not.â
â Are you the Prophet?â
He answered, â No.â
So they said to him,
â Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who sent us?
What do you have to say for yourself?â
He said:
â I am the voice of one crying out in the desert,
â make straight the way of the Lord,â â
as Isaiah the prophet said.â
Some Pharisees were also sent.
They asked him,
â Why then do you baptize
if you are not the Christ or Elijah or the Prophet?â
John answered them,
â I baptize with water;
but there is one among you whom you do not recognize,
the one who is coming after me,
whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie.â
This happened in Bethany across the Jordan,
where John was baptizing.

We lost our beloved Pastor Father Ron Stone. I was his caregiver. He had cancer. He died in front of me with my hand on his heart. I have sobbed everyday as he meant so much to me and made me closer to God. His last words to me were don't cry for me, just pray. Hopefully my pain will go away, I will never forget him.

Thank you Father for giving a sense of purpose for sorrow:once it is offered in the hands of Christ it turns into grace amen🙏🕯🕯🕯
Thank you Rev Fr Mark. I always address my sorrows in the presence of God. I have a good cry and come out of it comforted by the LOVE & COMPASSION of GOD. I know that God had shared my sorrow with me. PSALMS 56:8.

Thank you Father; she has come to sit with me, in my heart, in my place , certainly she brought bile, it has raining from my eyes then I learned chose to be my companion 4 long; it hasn't been easy, really . But my Eucharist Lord came. He held me close. So I understand when u say we should wait for a person and ❤ come. God bless you Fr. I needed this. Thanks again
