The aging tennis problem is so sad but true. I played a lot of tennis from age 5-12, and then stopped for 20 years. I moved countries and didn't have access to a court & a coach. Picked it up again 20+ years later, and yea sure I'm a little rusty rusty but the foundation is still there, and slowly but surely getting been my wife into it for the past 2 years. Gotta be super patient, but we're starting to get some good rallies and play some mixed doubles, but as you said it's SUCH a difficult sport. Base strokes, serves, footwork, game play anticipation, volleys. SO many pieces to put together. And even once you have it all, you have those off days where you feel like it's your 2nd day on the court, but I absolutely love it. Also watching tennis on TV. Personally I rarely watch a game and get bored (ok unless it's a blowout) but it's such a fun sport to watch. I love those highly explosive players, Shapovalov, Rublev, Kyrgrios, Caroline Garcia. I watch lots of other sports too, but there are many times I wish I could get 90 min of my life back, but that's rarely the case with tennis. Every match is packed with good rallies, incredible winners, shifts in momentum, etc, etc. I'm biased of course, but I think there's so much potential to blow this up. I wish Netflix would have done a better job with Break Point. Maybe it's still too early to tell but I thought they did a fantastic job on Drive to Survive and currently watching Tour de France Unchained which is awesome. And I never cared much for Tour de France. Anyways.. I'm done ranting 😅 just feeling very passionate listening to these 2 GOATs.

June 21st 2023!! you guys are providing a fascinating platform for us tennis nerds and fanatics!! In a nutshell I'm a total tennis nut been playing since age 7 now 72 planning a return to tournament Tennis also been a stringer for 40 years so I am a bit of a nerd who appreciates all the ins-and-outs of the rackets strings tension all that stuff and I appreciate what both of you bring to that to me tennis is the most engrossing subject in the world and music is a close second my heroes being Eddie and Nuno who I compare to Federer in terms of sheer talent creativity and chops!! Anyhow I plan to hit you both up for advice as I pursue my exploits approaching my return to tournament tennis!! Thanks again for the great stuff you guys are so likeable informative and fun!! Oh and I am planning most likely to switch to your Vcore 95 2023 Karue mainly because of your demonstration and review as well as others I've gobbled up online some of which are mixed but yours is the most positive endorsement I have found so far!!

Interesting with the golf /tennis analogy. A few years ago golf was really declining in popularity (post 2008) , a lot of golf courses around me sold to developers. Tennis is very popular in my area although I'll cede the players seem older and pickleball is probably more popular (although they have an even older demographic)

Nice podcast. Would be great if Karue is able to use his content creator earnings to help fund a serious run as a pro. Unfortunately the expense of going on tour keeps a lot of great players out of it. Even if they are able to maintain life on the tour, the grind of funding it can affect them mentally.
Would love to see more pros put out behind the scenes content similar to Felix on tour or Grisha at Gladiators Tennis. Think it could bring more interest to the sport.

would string tension maintenance be a deal breaker for you? Obviously we can't find a perfect string you always have to compensate something, but I've finally found a soft string that I like which is hyper G soft, but it seems the 1 negative is that it won't last tension long

As a fellow influencer I have wondered what to do with the trolls. There's an urge to reply, especially when you have a good comeback or can easily point out the flaw in their comment. However, it might just be stronger to delete the comment. Perhaps even just restrict the ability of these trolls to use the platform to try and affect you in a negative way. I think they just want to feel as though they can touch you or get to you in some way that maybe guarantees a response or emotional reaction.

just caught this, but the money on the tour, I saw a vice video that ATP is getting 18% of revenue to players where as most sports it is around 50% of revenue. All the tournaments should be paying out over double, with the majority of that money going into the earlier rounds. It shouldn't be so reliant on the slams, there is money in tennis, it just isn't going to players.

One example is to copy baseball style: singles but you have two teams, each team has 10 people that you can rotate. Only one single court needed, each team send their attacker and defender to the court, the rule is basically the same as any game but one can only score if you are the attacker, the defender will not get a point by hitting anything through. Something of this sort.

    Why golf is more widespread:
    1. You can be a fat slob and still play
    2. You can drink & play
    3. Driving around in golf carts with your buddies
    4. Doesn’t take much physical effort at the basic level. 30 seconds hitting the ball, followed by many minutes waiting for your partners to hit and then going off to find your ball again.
Tennis is a MUCH more athletic endeavor. Not knocking golf per se, but it is not anywhere near the level of physical fitness required.
