- The Stranger Things Cast opened up about some of the important roles they auditioned for and didn’t land. So we’re taking a look at all the failed auditions that could’ve been life-changing. A Game of Thrones audition that didn’t go well was the second-to-last audition before one of the young cast was ready to quit acting. Stranger Things changed everything. Jamie Campbell-Bower who’s new to season 4 has been in his fair share of supernatural movies. But he once did a dazzling audition that got him nowhere… until the sequel. And speaking of razzle-dazzle, Chicago was one of many movies that one of the older cast members was rejected for. Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, Snow White and the Huntsman and Almost Famous were another few. Have you figured out who we're talking about? Millie Bobby Brown wasn’t the only one rejected for the X-Men franchise, poor David Harbour had a horrific experience at his audition. Half the cast of Stranger Things all kind of look similar thanks to them all going out for each other’s parts and being so good the Duffers cast them in other roles. The Duffers themselves struggled with even getting Stranger Things made. We bet every production company gave it one look and went, “You want how many children on set?” Did you know one new actor for Season 4 was rejected for the original Star Wars but paved the way for Mark Hamill to land his role as Luke Skywalker? We’ve got stories on Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, Winona Ryder, Charlie Heaton and Joseph Quinn! Pretty much the whole cast has opened up about their failed auditions but they’re truly inspiring!

Well , game of thrones got the perfect actors , but they could have hired duffer brothers for the writing part.
Think about it, if some of these actors got accepted on other shows, Stranger things may have not been the same it is right now. It was a blessed rejection

I wanna be an actor so bad. It's honestly been my dream since I was little, but I'm such a sensitive person, that if I even tried to become one I'd probably get rejected and I'd give up honestly 🤷🏻♀️
And you gotta pay money to make money so not having much money doesn’t help
I took my son to a talent scout and it cost a lot to get everything they needed just for him to try out. We just didn’t have that much money to put out

I wouldn't recommend it having tried to make it myself. While its a fun job It's such a competitive industry that you better be prepared to get rejection after rejection and most actors are jobbing actors and most of the roles you'll apply for you will get rejected. Even if you go drama school and graduate (and its expensive and extremly difficult to get into) there's no guarantee you'll get any work and most work won't pay the bills. It's hard enough getting unpaid work let alone paid.

its laughable to call them one of the best ensembles TV has ever seen considering none were known before with exception of Wynnona and a few of the adult actors. And chances are the younger actors wont have success outside of this franchise.
Deadwood. Walking Dead. The Wire. Sopranos. The Office.
Those shows had the best ensembles in TV history. Stranger Things cant even remember basic details like character birthdays....
Your comment is laughable. Nothing you said relates to having a good ensemble. Being "known" beforehand and plot details has nothing to do with the quality and importance of an acting ensemble. Stranger Things has a really good ensemble that were crucial to the show's success, and the casting of good child actors with chemistry and relatability is one of the hardest things. Their ensemble has received many award nominations and wins, including SAG ensemble nominations, and the iconic series itself has received hundreds of nominations, including 30 Emmy nominations. Plus, several of its actors got some of the biggest surges in celebrity of modern shows (comparable to the likes of Game of Throne's). Now-18 year-old Emmy-nominated Millie Bobby Brown alone has 57 million IG followers. Also, most of the actors in the shows you mentioned didn't have success outside those shows, which is pretty common in TV.
