I really suggest "Can't Hurt Me" by Goggins. Spectacular story telling. I also suggest to read the book and the listen to audio version as well. They made the audio in podcast-like manner. One of the best books I've ever read.

  • @georgewhite553

This year I'm commited to read 6 books.
    1. Why We Sleep - Amazing book about sleep that everyone should read.
    2. Atomic Habits - Big failure that I didn't read it yet, I only read the Tiny Habits that is also amazing.
    3. Deep Work
    4. Smarter Fast Better - from the same author has the Power of Habits
    5. Hyper focus
    6. The E Myth
I'm pretty sure that some of those I added to my list because I saw it in your channel :)

      Atomic habits is ❤️.
What I liked about it is that unlike some other self help books, it actually gives you a straight 4 step action plan for your habits.
I tried it with a few habits I wanted to develop and it's going great.
It is a book that, I feel like, can be a foundation for making actionable takeaways from other self help books.

Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins is arguably one of the most impactful books out there. It's applied stoicism at its best. It's raw content, but after listening to appearances at Joe Rogan's and Rich Roll's, and after digging a bit in his story, it literally changes your life and the way you go about your days. It surely did it for me

And now I’m currently about 80% through "Playbook to Millions by Grant Cardone. I have read a lot of entrepreneurial books and self improvement books, and this book is my absolute favorite. This book is extraordinary and really gets you to work extremely hard toward your goals in life and succeed at multiple different areas like personal finance, business and career. This is an absolute must buy if you need a push to get you going in business or you want more out of life.

I thought an important clarification about unconditional parenting is that rewards aren’t bad, they can be very useful in demonstrating love to children. But too much of something is never good, it goes into lenient parents who stray away from setting rules allowing children to do whatever they want which is good but can be lead to maladaptive behaviors if not looked into or limited

I read educated a few years ago in its entirety. You wouldn't think someone's own life experience would have you thinking so deeply and reflecting on your own. There were so many parallels I could draw from my own life. It's crazy how that book made me realize I don't do enough self reflecting and looking back at what I've done and have gone through. Obama actually recommended the book right after I read it also, which is pretty cool.

I would recommend a book called "Turn the Ship Around" by Ret. US Navy Captain David Marquet. It talks a lot about how language is important in leadership and how to use it to empower and motivate employees.
I'd also recommend Simon Sinek's books. (start with why, leaders eat last, and the infinite game) These cover a broad perspective on how to increase managerial performance by focusing on different aspects. The books get drastically better as they go on (start with why is ok - but the message is great, the infinite game is much better written).

I started reading the Mistborn series after watching one of your videos and man, that was so very very good. I read The Well Of Ascension and yet to read The Hero Of Ages. I am just addicted to Brandon Sanderson's writings. I can read them for hours without any break!

Would be cool to hear about which books you don't recommend/ didn't enjoy/ didn't agree with. I've only heard you say good things about the books you read but it would be good to hear your criticisms too to provide some balance

Thanks for all the recommendations! Based on a previous video of yours I ended up reading Elantris and totally loved it! In fact, I then gobbled up the Mistborn series too, which was even better. I hadn't read science fiction in a long time and this was a great gateway back into it, thanks Ali!
