After hearing how serious and bad her injury was at the end, it was like a blessing that she didn’t make the group; because she may not have been able to continue! I also wonder how much JYPE knew about the injury; and did that play a part in her being cut; because I’m sure her injury wasn’t something she could hide!
Makes sense. Being an idol requires dancing on a daily basis be it performing or practicing. Whatever she was diagnosed with it’s gonna require Physical Therapy for the rest of her life. But it may just be so many other reasons like they wanted the group to be a 6 member piece or she did not fit what they were looking for/the concept. It’s cool she took it as is, nothing more to be done. Every single idol group is formed out of a pool of talented trainees who reached the finals process. I’ll make sure to follow her future steps.

For a self-proclaimed introvert, she's as amazingly eloquent as a talk show host, which helped in this interview because she had so much material to cover. 👍 That was crazy that she suffered escalating pain in the last two group performances. 🙀 Toughing it out was a great example of the saying, "The show must go on." I also sensed some of the closeness she had with Camila, especially when they were teamed up as Back Dawgz.
I really appreciated this interview, I feel like I got to know Cristina a lot better, and hearing all this I think it's such a shame she didn't debut this time around.

yeah that makes sense. In the final stage, JYP's comment to Kendall about her biggest weakness being unstable vocals suggested that he did bring it up more than once in earlier stages, other than the differentiating falsetto/head voice part. So those were probably edited out in earlier episodes.

I had hoped Christina would make it but I feel God has better plans for her. A2K would not be the same without Christina. Her love for Korean food and the culture shows her true character. I still feel sorta bitter she didn't make it, but I'm so grateful she didn't at the same time because I would've hated it if she was already in critical health even before debut. I also can't believe she went to A2K with Lisa's rap from "Love to Hate Me". Like the way I'm in luv with this song and that rap part especially. I really hope she gets another opportunity to debut, she's so refreshing and has quite good sence and awarness, she would just bring so much to the table imo. I was sent here from another video and was pleased to see it was an interview of Christina, then I looked at the length of the video and thought, oh no this is too long I got stuff to do, I will just watch a bit because I loved Christina in the A2K series. I was really sorry to see her go, BUT seeing where this group is going in terms of the very ‘Barbie or Bratz vibes of their songs YOUniverse and You Don’t Know Me, I feel honestly that Christina is probably a bit too advanced or sophisticated for those kind of songs. I am sure we will be seeing and hearing her more in the near future. I loved the way the interviewers took care of her asking questions in a respectful and open manner. Well done.
Her health is more important, than anything else. I‘m happy that she is doing better🥰. I feel like being in vicha would have cost her health. With pain you can’t enjoy what you are doing
The injury was very serious and she did say she's going to have to do physical therapy at home for the rest of her life. I love that she's so smart about her body and prioritizes wellness and knows when she needs to stop and see a doctor. Hearing that the final performance worsened her pain 10 fold means she should not have done it ): because she's still in active physical therapy now. It is a blessing she didn't make the group because there's no way she could have danced and been ok.

I think hearing your thoughts about the final selection match my thoughts. In terms of them saying "she matches the look kpop fans wants" i think they chose kendall over somebody (probably christina) because shes a white and asian mix which is common in kpop. I could tell jyp was gonna take kg no matter what. Camila was a shoe in, but i always worried for christina because she was the most "black presenting" and kpop is not known for being inclusive 😢 Im glad shes got such a great mindset. She'll go far cuz shes got the sauce for sure. ❤ And back door was BOMB. Shook nobody signed her after that performance alone

i wonder what signs she saw about her not making the group before the final mission.. i think maybe she knew she didn't fit the groups concept and was planned to be one of the extras for the "show" portion of the audition.. also how she said the show was nothing like what they actually filmed

I think hearing your thoughts about the final selection match my thoughts. In terms of them saying "she matches the look kpop fans wants" i think they chose kendall over somebody (probably christina) because shes a white and asian mix which is common in kpop.
I could tell jyp was gonna take kg no matter what. Camila was a shoe in, but i always worried for christina because she was the most "black presenting" and kpop is not known for being inclusive 😢
Im glad shes got such a great mindset. She'll go far cuz shes got the sauce for sure. ❤
