Aldo Chimenti book "Death in June" (released around 2012 in several languages incl. French, Italian, German) shed some light on the work an development of Di6 and Douglas. While overall I didn´t really enjoyed the read, since it is written in a strange somewhat outdated or pseudo-intellectual style, it had held a lot of information.
Im sure I listened to another version, in specific with a different trumpet melody, a little bit more fast in the beggining more similar as a military song, trying to search in all other versions of this song but I think it was deleted
Such an odd band. They (Douglas P and friends) are very good at making everything feel eerie and Mysterious, Sinister and beautiful. Remarkable stuff.

What kind of drums do they use??
Oh I don´t know. I used to know the original Drummer (Murphy) which lived near to my home in Berlin
but saddly he died a couple of years ago. :(

Sorry for the late reply. It's likely a floor tom. In earlier performances of this song they used a Timpani.
