    I watched this and I’m imagining how it would have affected our neighbors last year after the wildfire. So many lost their homes in the middle of winter, an option like this where they could mobilize these containers to provide not just shelter but comfort? Life changing

      Container hotels may be a very good idea, as houses cannot be moved if a bushfire breaks out nearby. I would like to see these hotels spread all over the world!

    Those containers would be a good idea for the homeless people to have a place to stay rather than living on the street. I have seen some videos where people are combining two shipping containers, to make a more spacious home,and living off grid here in the USA.

    By letting them be used as motels, the Japanese government can get a sense of what practical issues the containers may have, long before people might (Heaven forbid) have to depend on them. Smart thinking!

    Itsuka-san I was pleasantly surprised by this, I have been watching some of your other videos with the lovely rooms on the ferries. But this one I really really enjoyed for the simplicity of it. Its a shame our governments here in the West (I live in the UK) don't use such easy and simple facilities to solve housing for refugees and homeless people. These container hotels could be made a lot easier for a fraction of the cost it is now. Arigatoo.😊👍

    To me as an American, this is sort of reminiscent of portables--small outlet-esque buildings that are, as the name suggests, "portable" in the event of whatever. From my memory, they weren't/aren't nearly as "ready to go" as these are, and I do not remember many of them having plumbing.

      In the US and Canada, they have RVs and portable trailers (like you see on construction sites) and manufactured homes. They have reserve fleets sitting in fields. Land in Japan is so scarce, part of the reason for a shipping container is they can stack them vertically for use and in storage (this happens in Western cities for construction offices). They also don't have an RV industry or pickup trucks to move trailers, so they want to rely on the shipping container infrastructure they do have.

    I've seen a couple other videos that reviewed the same hotel. What I'm seeing is a room doesn't seem to accommodate more than one person comfortably. Two can stay there but it might get a little small. Perhaps there are other containers for that but they've not been shown. So a husband, wife and one or two children might have a hard time with it. But I guess if your house just got leveled by a tidal wave or earthquake, you'd be glad to have it. Good video!!

    • @thekhoifish0146
      @thekhoifish0146 2 года назад

      Yeah, and if anything Japan’s also no stranger to sleeping on futons so larger families could maybe squeeze in a third, at most a fourth person as well on the floor at night. Fortunately (or I guess unfortunately depending on how you look at it) Japan’s demographic is away from larger nuclear families as young adults move out for urban centres and stay single, so there may not be a need to house multiple people in a single container

    It's also pretty good that there are container hotels because they have started to be used all over the world, only in Malaysia there are container house accommodation that they combine to become big houses or become tourist attractions like rice boxes and many more but Japan has more interesting because they can be moved and taken to safe place besides the cheap price 🤤🥰

    Several issues with cargo containers isn't the fact that this is possible rather it is the amount of time needed to both wire, pipe and reinforce the outer layer. So they don't collapse into itself especially when you start cutting holes. Which can be expensive although honestly with the sheer amount of cargo containers produced it is definitely smart to recycle a portion of them into living space.
