If you pay attention to the jumpscare as well, it doesn’t make a lemur sound, as a matter of fact, it makes a sort of roaring sound before she kills you with a knife. Now, this may be a bit of a stretch, but I think Laura killed herself (before the infection) because she probably had abusive parents, which made her feel alone. And she felt the only thing she had was the teddy bear. So she used the knife to stab herself in the eyes, hence the black goo coming from the left eye. If you also notice, Laura floats instead of walking. So here’s the thing, when Laura was buried, I’m assuming her Soul only knew one place where she could rest, which was the teddy bear, so she went into the teddy bear, making it sentient, and forcing it to grab her body from the ground, when that was finished, she fully went into the teddy bear. And since you can’t make a dead body walk. The teddy bear makes her float like a ghost, and she also doesn’t have a normal jumpscare. Instead of making a lemur sound, she makes a “roar” sound, we can assume this is the teddy bear screaming. Pulling the same knife out that she killed herself with.
note: infected are NOT like normal zombies, they are smart, maybe as smart as the non-infected(think about it, they can jump, they can attack, they can use some objects as weapons, they can use traps, all these facts link up to one answer-the infected are smarter than zombies) Edit: ok how did I get over 100 likes and 20 replies?
I mean that's all just normal advance hunter, infected that aren't under TIO influence are pretty not as aggressive and fast as the ones in TIO's control

This is my theory on Laura's Origins simply based on what her animation is. As we know her eyes are completely black and one of them appears to be bleeding, we also know that she does not move in her idle animation apart from the teddy Bears head twitching. She does not walk she floats. Therefore my main theory is that Laura is dead and her spirit now possesses her doll which controls her corpse. My second theory is similar and it's the Laura died whatever causes the infection took control of her corpse just as her spirit latched onto her teddy bear resulting in a sort of infected spirit

In ur showcasing Laura I commented my theory of the origin story of Laura so I will just comment a copy of it (funny enough this is the third time of me copying and pasting it but I just wanted to share my theory because I hope u like it): I have a theory about their (I forgot their name so I am going to call them King Julian)origin story: When King Julian was a little girl she found a free teddy bear for sale. She bought the teddy unaware of it being cursed with the insolence... when the infection broke out, King Julian had managed to get over to the camp hoping the military would help her. Sadly for King Julian, she found out quickly that the military had already been infected. They military tried attacking her but failed... but they did manage to scratch her. While she was hiding in the building (where u get the skin) the insolence decided to reveal themselves and trap her soul in the teddy bear! That is why in the skin she has no pupils and isn’t moving but the teddy is... maybe you can please make this the origin story of King Julian? It took me an hour and a half to think of the origin. P.S: sorry if you have seen my comment before the other times and is getting annoyed but this will be the last time of me copying and pasting it
