  • Mehmet Topçuoğlu was born in 1957 in Şahinler village of Yatağan district of Muğla. During his high school education in Izmir, he learned to tie and play many instruments, especially the oud, with it. He still continues his studies on this subject.
    During the field researches conducted in the region by TRT and the Ministry of Culture, he ensured that many melodies were included in the archive and repertoire as a resource person. Mehmet Topçuoğlu has a large music archive of local folk songs. In addition, he is a person who compiled the stories of the folk songs of Gurcova Çamları, Alışarın Ortası and Adem Gardaş, which belong to the Yatağan region of Muğla, and from these, he wrote the notes of the Çamları of Gurcova folk song. He currently lives in Yenikarakuyu District of Yatağan district.
