Something I read in the local news: County jail could not wait to transfer him to the Department of Corrections. He did up to $3k of damage to the jail each day he was there, and was the most assaultive detainee they had ever seen.
The first thing any defense has to do is decide what is its “Theory of the case”. Then you call everybody who supports your theory of the case and you only ask questions that build your theory of the case. Who put in the ISPRN call has absolutely nothing to do with anything. What time the 911 call was made is utterly useless. This guy could not articulate a theory of the case if you offered him the Hope Diamond. All this and he has a brilliant attorney six feet from him. This is Legal Suicide (as opposed to lawyer-assisted suicide, which I also see quite often). He managed to get some things out of Miller that the State could never have gotten, which were pretty much death blows. The sign above my home desk says “DON’T FOOL WITH THINGS YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND.” In the words of Clint Eastwood “Man’s gotta know his limitations.”

I am so glad you mentioned Summers and how in the UK...none of this would be allowed. My life has been split between the UK and the US and while there are lousy things in the UK's legal system, it has made much better efforts in the matter of protecting victims during court proceedings, especially from the people who harmed them. I watched a US court case recently in which a child had been murdered. Her slightly older sister, who had also been abused, and was around FIVE years old, had to be brought into the court room and sit directly opposite the people who had abused and murdered her sister, and abused her. It was, frankly, totally unbelievable. And while people in these comments say things like "well these people hang themselves with this court room behaviour"...that is NO excuse for letting violent often sadistic people re-traumatize people. It is true that it harms the defendants, who are, as in this case, being excited by the opportunity to relive, in detail, in public, with victims, the minutia of their sexual and violent assaults. Nevertheless, the victims should have rights too...such as, being able to give evidence via video link, so they need not be put a few feet from the abuser, who is relishing his (because it almost invariably is a man) control over the victim,, and seeking to intimidate them...which is witness tampering.

My own response was to return to work two days later. I have a excellent work ethic. I also wanted to return to my normal. As stated by the detective all people handle traumatic incidents differently.

I always enjoy watching when a defendant who is representing themself questions the law enforcement officers familiar with the case and the defendant…their disdain for him is fighting to show on their faces. Ah, I really LOVE it when Attorney Jones just slaps Yohn all around the court. At the very end of this session, shortly after the "penis in mouth" episode, Jones is really taking Yohn down. I went through a traumatic experience where a serial killer grabbed me and tried to kidnap me. I was able to escape. I stayed home recovering for a couple of days . After that I wanted to be “normal “ again and went out with friends. I wanted to do anything to keep my mind off what happened.

Everyone seems so annoyed having to talk to him... and rightfully so since it's basically a joke. And on top of it making a mockery of the trial process, he seems to have no actual defense strategy. I am so glad you mentioned Summers and how in the UK...none of this would be allowed. My life has been split between the UK and the US and while there are lousy things in the UK's legal system, it has made much better efforts in the matter of protecting victims during court proceedings, especially from the people who harmed them.
I watched a US court case recently in which a child had been murdered. Her slightly older sister, who had also been abused, and was around FIVE years old, had to be brought into the court room and sit directly opposite the people who had abused and murdered her sister, and abused her. It was, frankly, totally unbelievable.
And while people in these comments say things like "well these people hang themselves with this court room behaviour"...that is NO excuse for letting violent often sadistic people re-traumatize people. It is true that it harms the defendants, who are, as in this case, being excited by the opportunity to relive, in detail, in public, with victims, the minutia of their sexual and violent assaults.
Nevertheless, the victims should have rights too...such as, being able to give evidence via video link, so they need not be put a few feet from the abuser, who is relishing his (because it almost invariably is a man) control over the victim,, and seeking to intimidate them...which is witness tampering.
My god, this is some “Hills Have Eyes” type ish - who sexually assaults a senior with a carpet cleaner can, sprays it in her mouth, then proceeds to wear her purse and watch!?

I thousand percent believe this guy is a piece of shit in every single way and guilty and the jury will find him guilty but the prosecution should be ashamed of himself with his constant eye rolling, facial expressions, exaggerated acts of bewilderment and being appalled at the pure ignorance of the defendant. All he’s doing is granting grounds for a appellate court. He should take a page out of the prosecutors on the Darrell brooks case. Nobody wants to make the family relive this. He should remain calm and keep CL in mind. Securing a guilty verdict. It’s only part of the game.
I do like this DA. However I agree. He his letting his Ego get to him.
