Gah! Taran Armstrong and the Jet Lag crew on the same podcast?!?!? Please please please have Taran as the guest competitor on a future Jet Lag season!!!! I would buy multiple Nebula subscriptions to see that!
Thank you for talking about this show. I became a Nebula subscriber and have binge watched every season as a result. It's so much better than the Amazing Race. Adam is my favorite since he's so strategic, competitive and funny but Ben, Sam, Toby and the other guests are great fun as well. Looking forward to what they have planned next. Hide & Go Seek in Switzerland has been my favorite season so far.

So now that they're friends of the pod, when is Taran or Sasha going to join Sam on a season of Jetlag? I feel like Ben is already motivated to beat Taran after he reminded everyone about the kookaburra 😆.
Also, if any of the Jetlaggers happen to check the comments here, I was wondering if there were any potential seasons that went unreleased because it ended too soon or wasn't interesting, or if the games have just been well designed enough that it was never an issue
It hasn't happened yet - the Jet Lag team is pretty open about their shooting schedule and location, so fans would know if it had. There was a season (not naming it specifically due to spoilers) that nearly ended very early and the Jet Lag team discussed on their podcast how anxious that made them. They have intentionally worked to design their more recent seasons so that (a) there is no early win condition and (b) no lead should be insurmountable. In terms of being too boring, they can salvage a lot with editing - I would argue Hide and Seek was the most boring season and even that was entertaining with how they built tension and withheld information from the viewers.
@@AdamLaMore Good point, I figured as much. Even their early stuff was well designed, if easier to break. By "not interesting" I was moreso talking about game mechanics not coming together rather than the long down time solved with editing.
I see what you're saying, it could've been boring, but I love that season lol. I might be biased since it was only the second season I watched all the way through and I was just impressed that they made hide and seek work across a country

When I first found out RHAP was covering Jet Lag, I immediately wondered if the podcasts would ever cross and if there would be a deep dive. Beyond happy this happened! Excited for more Nebula related RHAP coverage in the future🙌And hopefully continued interviews as well🎉

I just want say thank you to Taran & RHAP for introducing me to Jet Lag. I’m now fully in & loving this show and really happy for the Toby & Sam win especially with Toby’s great Gold Coast strategy win. I did love the Wendover & HAI videos before this but I didn’t realise that these guys also made this show called jet lag until the RHAP podcasts started coming out about it and now it’s like my two favourites coming together!

i saw this and screamed literally my two niche nerdy interests colliding. you have no idea how insane this is to me.

Big brother in the first season gave me torture nightmares, and all reality television has that exploitative flavour to it to at least some small extent. The boys having written it, and being better at it than their boss in the early seasons took that away completely. My only objections are about carbon dioxide production given carbon credits are garbage, and them not masking especially in Japan, neither of which apparently interfere with my enjoyment at all compared to how difficult I find even passing thoughts about whether the on screen talent are the victims of the producers, and therefore by extension my consumption. More simply, I know they designed the game, and do the editing, and importantly they get paid regardless, it makes it all way more fun.
My theory was that the visiting bonus was good enough teams should rush around the first day claiming those bonuses. I originally thought a team had to match and then raise a country's deposit, but once I realized it just took a dollar I wasn't certain why putting down much on a country was worth it.
We need Taran and Sasha on a season of Jetlag: The Game.
Where's the most important figure of the game... Amy?
I'd love her to at least appear on The Layover at some point.
Just started watching and I’m already giddy watching these guys all together!
Another great show that the Jet Lag crew have alluded to before as an inspiration is Game Changer, the Sam Reich-hosted Dropout exclusive. Somewhat similar to Taskmaster as a format, but even more so compared to that and Jet Lag, the game literally changes every episode! If getting into the online reality competition show space, that might be worth following next.

Besides tag, this season was definitely the best season of Jet Lag. I think a revamped hide and seek has HUGE potential though. I think hide and seek was a fantastic idea, but each hider should get two tries, I can't think of other improvements right now, but I've seen suggestions.

The women's world cup (FIFA/soccer) was in Australia and New Zealand so that might be why 37:44. That could be why, but I am not sure. I am very disappointed that Sam, Ben and Adam none of them are really into sports. I love sports.

@@dannyboy2851 I am sure. I just know that was in Australia and New Zealand the said cup thing, seeing as none of them follow sports that was my guess. But you might be right I might be completely wrong.

@@qwertyTRiG We sang the song plenty in America but afaik they're saying it like I was always taught to say it. And I can't look up what the differences are meant to be because googling pronunciations these days gets you robots doing it wrong or ESL speakers doing it even wronger.
