- This was after 15 hours of grinding and changing my upcoming flight for a sponsored stream so I could grind even harder. Almost lost hope towards the end but so happy I managed to get it. Hope you enjoy!

Just wanted to clarify that this run was done on old patch 1.02 as it's the fastest version of the game. This category is unrestricted which allows the use of force quits and the "zipping" glitch which we use to teleport the character across the map. This run was achieved after a 15 hour grind with countless failed runs to the final zip. If you'd like to see a run that is a bit less glitch heavy check out my All Remembrances run! Some explanation about the zip and the fall damage.
The zip is a glitch that pushes you to a distance after you held block and did a small moving. It is not very consistent
The reason why he took no fall damage despite falling like 1000 meter after the zip is because where he land after is actually at a higher elevation than where he started to do it. The game only starts to count "fall damage" when you land on a lower vertical location than where you started. He technically land on a higher spot so no damage taken. It has always been a things across multiple fromsoft game with super jump glitch

@@mateidrumea4528 You may have guessed it. He believed that lower resolution made the zip more consistent. He said the zip is also hardware based on the previous streams, if your PC was not really good then it would not be consistent either. So he chose to lower resolution for the zip then quickly changed it back so he could actually see

Shoutout to Mitchriz, he's the sole reason Dist delayed his flight to grind this run. Mitch himself got a 18:24 mere hours after this run, but OBS fucked him and didnt record a full minute of it, so it's invalidated 😥. You guys are insane runners and I can't wait to see how much you're gonna push the category!

I am proud to say that I was there watching the run. Dist's reaction and Larxa's congratulations made the triumph more epic.
I love how in weeks, the speedrun went from sub 1 hour to friggin sub 20 minutes, its insane and i commend you as much as I can because the effort that you must have put in these runs must be insane.

His sum of best is 17:36 and the game has only been out for a month, it is very likely that a 17 will happen eventually.

Some runners run thier games for more than decade..it's not hard to see that there are runners that are just as or more dedicated than this runner...BTW this is not a slight on dist2,he is an amazing speedrunner

I love how other speedrunners improve their times by couple seconds every couple weeks while dist does it for whole minutes and many times during the same stream
That’s just how it usually is with very new runs though. It’s not because dist is so much better than them, the run is just less optimised and there are still a lot of glitches being discovered.

Will you be doing post patch speedruns? What is a good strategy to use with the Hoarfrost Stomp × RKR nerf?
Distortion's All Remembrances speedruns are on current patch. Current strat is using the Carian Retaliation + Wraith-Calling Bell glitch (use bell, parry own projectile, glintblades do ridiculous damage)

That Carian Retaliation thing has a high likelihood of being patched probably relatively soon so for possible alternatives once that happens, Elajjaz is doing current patch runs using melee with some moveswap tricks? I haven't watched those yet, but Ela has been doing those apparently because he doesn't want to devote time to something so obviously broken it'll get fixed soon so maybe there's something to find in there for the "current" of the future.

My guess is that game designers have a prime durective: whatever happens dont let the game crash completely - or we might get hit by money-back demands. I suspect that thus prime directive us why so many sequence breaks occur - because anything is better than "an unforseen error has occurred please reboot"

I Finished the game in 60 hours and it was enough for me.

I take the lower resolution has something to do with the zips? Either that or that’s some of the wonkiest collision physics I’ve ever seen
It does, it helps with it but you can do it on high res too, it works on all surfaces but nobody knows how it works
