- Hindutva group Hindu Jagarana Vedike carried out a rally demanding Hindu rashtra on Gandhi Jayanthi. The rally saw over 10,000 people participate with dignitaries including Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat.
Udupi also saw another rally by Sahabalve, a coalition of organisations, calling for peace and harmony.
