Be confident and anything happens ask for help from people they will help you but at night be careful Because you are alone don't walk at late night in unknown areas
Okay as a mumbaikar here is everything that you did right or wrong in this little adventure of yours. Right- To chose to travel alone, visit Mumbai, travel by public transport, visit the tourist spots of Mumbai. Here is what you did wrong or could have done differently 1. You stayed in a good neighborhood like bandra but appears that you dint stay in the posh localities of bandra. 2. You visited the bandra fish village when Bandra Carter road/ Bandstand was walking distance away and that's where locals chill. 3. You took a bus and then travelled without a ticket. You could have simply taken a local taxi and taken the sea link to town. It would be convenient plus a nice ride. Also, you took a bus from bandra to khar station where as you needed to go to bandra station. You could have also taken a direct bus to town. Also, the local bus and trains cost less than a dollar and it not a mode of transport used regularly. You certainly can afford a normal tuk tuk or taxi or ola. Our cabs don't charge like London taxi. 3. Local train tickets could be bought online through an app. Or could be taken using the vending machine or simply by goingnto the ticketing counter. I find it very hard to believe you couldn't find English speaking people in Mumbai. A 10th grader would know better English than half the adults in European countries. Also, when you use the cheapest mode of transport, atleast let your audience know their amount of money they save so they know what to expect. I believe every city is better travelled if you are guided by a local or if have well researched. Mumbai is not a tourist city. This is a fast city unlike goa. Things move fast here. You are lucky the bus waited for you to get in. Also, Mumbai is one of the safest cities in India and quite safe when compared to other places. Not interested my 32 years have I ever seen a gun with a person who is not authorised to handle them. You may get the stares cause 1. You are beautiful 2. You are a girl 3. Fair skinned 4. A blogger recording in the middle of the day. Yes, it's not an ideal situation but you are not behaving like others. Mostly those stares are people being fascinated by you. It's mostly harmless but you gotta take the protection that any normal solo traveller would take. I wish you had someone to show you my city. I wish you were given better recommendation and suggessions to places and experience. And I wish there was a way I could tell people what to do in my city when they are knew here. For anyone reading this. If you ever come to Mumbai and need some local recommendations hit me up. Reply to this msg. And il share my details with you. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day. You should visit Kerala and if you like it stay there and promote Kerala tourism only 650K people visited this place in 2023. Let make it more than 5 Millions visits. Our Tourism sucks. Mumbai is generally safe city. Mumbai Police always doing good job patrolling the area during the night time. You also have to be careful like in any other place in the world to not travel to secluded places in the night time.
I think if u find it hard..try go for comfortable private car option with ola or uber.. they are reliable not too expensive and have safety call option.. public transport not suitable for everyone.. I have 65 yr old mother.. generally dont take a chance getting her on public transport
If you are travelling alone don't travel to tribel area alone, avoid late night travelling and be in touch with your known and family members 🙏🏻
and also avoid jhar kand....just stay near muslim majority areas you will be much safe! ty
