Bethesda aren't even remastering it. Its another studio. Not sure why everyones getting their pants in a twist. Its just making the game prettier. Skyblivion isn't going away, I'm just going to play both.
It’s the new norm to shit on Bethesda for literally everything. Also to start claiming that Bethesda hates modders and will force the Skyblivion team to shut down or some bs.
Imagine Morrowind: official remake. Bethesda will highly likely dumb down it sooo much. So yes, Oblivion remake can be cool, but considering Starfield... it'll probably won't be.
Played Oblivion a couple of months ago, the game still holds up pretty good and I see no good reason for Bethesda to remake it. The game is even easily available on steam.
@@nikkeli3942 Which is why Todd has been pretty vocal against remakes. He's said he wants their games to remain vanilla, just on as many platforms as possible. This remaster/remake definitely wasn't Todd's decision, it's Xbox. Still interested in the Oblivion remaster/remake. If it's the same old oblivion with better graphics, cool with me.
@@Hoppelite I'm kinda indifferent towards the remake. Tho that might be because there are so many remakes nowadays and I've kinda grown desensitized to them

While we're talking about classic games, I'm currently playing Pokémon Stadium 2 and it's amazing. I use save states so that I can figure out the strategy for each fight. If my roster is not viable for a tournament or a trainer in a specific tournament after trying multiple strategies, I try again with a new roster. And so on.

Well Demon’s Soul’s ran off the same logic, which was astounding when you consider how primitive it actually was in reality animation and polish wise, maybe they’ll redo some of the animations for the human characters, I doubt though in special enemies and animal mobs though. But I do pray they bring the dynamic lighting from E3. I just hope and pray they won’t delist the original Oblivion, that’s my childhood right there.
6 Gigs install size was still A LOT in 2008... part of the reason I started catching up on the latest games, they were bloated and not even half as much fun
All these bells and whistles are meaningless, devs forgot what art direction means. There’s a reason why all recent Sony releases look alike, they might as well be set in the same universe

One thing that really annoyed me with some (maybe most even?) of the "modernizations" that are done is that they usually take away the consoles, or any real way to do your own diy with the files and configs outside of getting a Nexus mod or something. I'd give it a high probability of them doing the same to a rehash of Oblivion if it was done through Bethesda themselves, no console by default. Plus given the current state of alot of the "AAA" studios nowadays they are more activists then programmers in there and it's really a sad thing, the future for the games industry is a bit grim if it maintains its current course huh? I'd personally pass on it though, making a new file on my GOG copy is simple enough - and I actually have the physical discs of both Oblivion and Morrowwind, so come the apocalypse I think I'm covered for some pre-internet Elder Scrolls action.
I can't do more remakes man. I just can't. I need something new. Something innovative. I played Oblivion a ton already. I know what happens. Make Oblivion 2, Jesus anything that I can't recite dialogue to line by line

It’s a shame Skyblivion didn’t come out years ago, because I truly believe they wasted their time. I don’t want to play Skyrim again. I want to play Oblivion. I don’t want a remake in the Skyrim engine, I just want vanilla Oblivion. Unreal 5 sounds amazing. You can keep your Skyrim mod. I’m done with that game.
have you maybe considered that there is a new generation of gamers that haven't played it and don't play it because it looks so ugly in todays standards ? every time i look for a game similar to skyrim, i see people recommend oblivion, and what sucks is that i can't play it because its so fucking ugly that it makes me physically uncomfortable. besides another studio making it, so it doesn't effect the development of es6
