Hello! I m starting this book (and indeed i m starting pencils coloring too 😂), and i m watching several videos… just to see how colorists are dealing with this great univers! and I really like your style!🫶 So i just click on the bell & i will follow your chanel!😃👌 Happy new year! Wish you health & greats colours!🌸🦄🌸
Thank you so much. I still don’t exactly know where this page will take me, so I’m very excited to see the final page too 😄 To make things take more shape, try practicing where to have your shadows and highlights. Figure out where you want your light source to come from. You could even have a look at things in your own home. Pay attention to where the light comes from and how this affects the shadows and highlights. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much 💖 Yes you get the best out of Polychromos by using a light hand with many layers. So it can definitely be a learning curve if you’re used to a softer pencil.
I'm loving this playlist ❤ My question is how do you use watercolor in this book? I followed your tutorial for the top row but kinda ruined the paper. For the second row I only used polychromos and it turned out similar. Are you printing this page on watercolor paper?
Thank you so much (new video in this series will be up in a few hours). Make sure your paint brush isn’t too wet. If you are finding a water brush too much, use a regular paintbrush with only a small amount of water. Just enough to activate and move the pigment around, but not saturating the page. I suggest having a play on the tester page in the back of the book. Try out different paintbrushes and water brushes and different amounts of water until you get a result you like. I’m so glad to hear you were able to replicate it with your Polychromos though 💖 That’s awesome 👏🏻
I have never used rubbing alcohol on watercolour pencils before, so I’m unsure if that was the cause or not, but I would definitely test any new method on that back tester page before using in the book.
@@MaritsColourfulAdventures using that page is a great suggestion! Thanks... I saw that color cube lady do it in the worlds within worlds book so I thought it would be ok. I'm loving doing these so much I might buy an additional copy of the book or try to find it in a discount store.
I sometimes use Odourless mineral spirits with my Polychromos for blending (you need at least 5/6 layers of pencil down first), but I like water for the watercolour pencils. My favourite other artist to follow and learn from is Lachri Fine Arts, so she’s definitely one to check out. She did the artwork for the big Inktense box.
Beautiful and magical ❤ I am going to color this page with you, just have to finish a couple of WIPs ❤
Thank you so much. I always appreciate you being here, and I’m glad you like it 💖💖

These came out so Beautiful..I'm learning that although Polychromos are a harder pencil I think it takes a really soft hand to blend them

@@MaritsColourfulAdventures I was using rubbing alcohol the first time and I think it caused the paper to deconstruct.
