Okay so you can totally tell us what next month entails... not sooo many people will expand and read all the comments... just a few lol.... come ooooooooon what's next month lol :)
Your Bico LARP video got me interested in LARPING. This video, the assassination quest itself now has sold me on it. The character I thought up would be perfect since I want to play out a spymaster/assassin type. That looked so much fun!
Oooo! Thank you for trading alchemy ingredients with me! I think you compatured and talked about what makes Hynafol special so well! I love seeing all the shenangians you got up to! See you at the next GG!
The amount of giddy joy I got from seeing these moments of my friends captured is wild. Thank you so much for this, means a lot to those of us that can't film. And the hat looks great! ;) -Kingfisher
Hello! Thank you so much for making a video about our LARP! This was my second event and it’s so cool being able to see someone else experience within the mists.
My husband and I attended for our first-ever LARP experience (although we are intimately familiar with Sherwood Forest). What a wonderful event. We now have a whole new community to plan things around ^_^
I live in Austin. I go to Sherwood Ren Faire....HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?!?!?!?! Thank you for making this video! I am so excited to join next year!!
After watching your video on Bicolline I ended up falling down a rabbit hole about LARP and wanted to find a way to get in on the experience. Lo and behold Hynafol is only a short drive away from me and being a Texas Renfaire regular I can't believe I haven't gone before. Seeing your experience there makes me want to dip my toe into it there rather than dive head first at Bicolline. But, do you know if they tailor their packages cost depending on what's required? Like I wouldnt need transportation but wouldnt mind some of the perks of the guild package. Either way, really enjoy your videos!
Hi! I've gone the past few years. Yes you can get some things tailored to your trip. You can add things as needed but you can always email the team and they are quick to answer and help in any way they can!
Oh no way!! How lucky for you!!! Yes I believe you can get your package tailored to your needs. Definitely shoot them an email!! The link is in my description
Great video! you were able to capture footage i never could have because of truly playing the game.. so great to see this footage captured! Well done! - This is David btw lol.
Also I remember you! You were the same person who said you were gonna go after moss right next to me lmao I’m really glad you didn’t! I would have had to yonk ya. Guild mates and all lol 😅
This was so cool to see! I loved interacting with yall at the axe throwing, and helping that little crow get its missive to the correct hands. Glad to hear yall had a great time!
Love these Medieval Event videos so much Lanchen, Thank you for always providing an awesome watch. Consistently has me looking forward to the next! Also inspires me to hopefully get out and attend some events myself for the first time in the near future, each time looks like a blast and ive always loved this typa stuff but yeah, much love. Don’t comment much in general but finally had to today! Keep up the good work and cant wait till the next event vid haha! >:-)
@justlanchen I have friends who have been going to Bicoline for several years and have asked me to join them, after watching your video I may have to try it out.
It's always a lot of fun to see peoples' LARP adventures. I totally understand people wanting to keep things private but maaaan. There are so many cool stories out there that I want to see and can't be there in person to do so!
Yea there are so many things to do there. My friend Kiki made a video there too and I’m excited to see it because she had a totally different experience
Glad you enjoyed yourself, congratulations on your indoctrination into the Assassin vocation! Hope to see you next year! - Your Friendly Rogue P.S. - Nice dagger!
Every time i see LARP videos and hear about Medieval LARPING i can't help but think about these two movies that have Larping in them Role Models and Knights Of Bada**dom both are pretty good movies btw
@justlanchen have you ever been to an SCA event? It’s a medieval historical reenactment group. Lots of event in Southern California and definitely worth checking out.
@ I’ve been apart of the SCA for about 8 years. :) I’d be happy to help you get connected with the SCA and events within the kingdom of Caid. If you have questions, just me know. I’ll find a way to contact you. P.S. You’re videos are amazing! Thank you for making such informative and beautiful videos about medieval reenactment!
Hi! Do you practice or are interested in HEMA or any other kind of historical fencing??? Would love a video about that kind of training! Keep on playing ⚔️
If you only had the ability to do one, would you choose Bicolline or Hynafol? I saw your video about Bicolline and fell in love. My only LARP experience has been the Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World. I had so much fun, and I am devastated it closed. I have been wanting to do another larp since my experience, and I had been interested in Evermore, which never seemed to fully tale off and ended up shutting down. I found your video about Bicolline, and after watching, I decided I was going to try to do that for my birthday in 2026. Now, seeing this video, I am torn between the two. Which would you recommend for someone new to LARP, looking to have a good time, and who has never camped before in their life. 😅
Totally stupid question, but the company that takes you to Bico… do they also help get people to Hynafol? It sounds similar so im wondering if its the same group? Thanks!
normal people: we go to vacation to not worry about anything for a change. us larpers: we go to vaction so we can worry about goblins trying to attack us at night and steal all of our shiny goods.
As a disabled person I never thought I could do this kind of thing, but you've inspired me to do it. First with Bico, and now with this. I will play a pirate with a hook hand!
So, I am handy accessible i.e. cannot walk a long distance or run. However, I truly want to do something like this as the larpping seems so cool. Every Halloween I am a full fledged pirate but I want to go to my ancestry of Nordic (Viking to a commoner).
Hey, I've gone since year one (three Grand Gatherings) and if you're interested you can always try the weekend or spectator day! It takes place at Sherwood Forest faire in McDade, Texas. But, a great thing about Hynafol is there is so much to do to pick and choose from. So, if you would like to hangout at the Lodge, Library, Kingdom camp, or another tavern, or wherever else in Hynafol you can and still be very involved and have plenty to do. While some people, like myself, spend most of their time running around there are also people who spend a lot of their time hanging out and doing things that don't require walking around much! There are people who go who are also in your place of being handy accessible and they have had a great time. . Hope you will be able to join us to try it out 😊💚
Oh, plus the kingdom I'm in has both pirate guild and a Viking (at least inspired) guild. Everyone is very welcoming and would be glad to help in any way
As someone who has attended this LARP for the past 3 years and has a bad foot, thus not being able to walk or run very well, I have never participated in combat (Though there was one parry with a dagger that I am fond of) and I have had an AMAZING TIME. The majority of my guild doesn't fight in the battles. Lots of questing and information gathering. It is a wonderful time.
Genuine question; you said no tech was allowed, but you were able to film? - at my LARP in the uk, no tech means no tech, there ‘still photo’ photographers with proper cameras walking around taking pictures VERY low-key, but never filming/ pictures on phones, people on phones etc. once the event starts, that’s it, no one films or takes non ‘proper’ photos in the open. You’d get in trouble actually if you did I think, or at least people would probably ask you to stop/ leave the in character area! Is the no tech rule here more of a “we’d rather you didn’t, but won’t stop you?” Or did you have to have special permission? Great video by the way! Glad you had such a great time!
I filmed at bico too which was no technology and although I had permission and tried to hide it, people did say something to me a few times when they saw I had camera 🥲
I saw them a couple of times throughout the event, and can honestly say their setup was not intrusive whatsoever. They were respectful of other people's game.
I'm not american, so I don't know much about american history, but this kind of medieval times refers to europe right? in a fantasy context of course but ¿ Like US history didn't had a medieval period right?

how do we find immersive larps like these on our own? do you have recommendations for websites or social medias to follow to find event/dates?
