On November 16, 2023, IDEA GENERATION and Tres Generaciones Tequila hosted an event with rappers Pusha T and No Malice of the CLIPSE.
The legendary duo and IDEA GENERATION Founder Noah Callahan-Bever sat down together in Washington, D.C. in celebration of Clipse's upcoming performance at the Kennedy Center. In front of a live audience, Clipse and NCB discussed their lengthy careers, the many challenges they faced and how they continued to persevere, the chaos of working with Kanye West, whether rappers should be active past 40 years old, and the possibility of a new Clipse album. The room was packed with fans sipping on Tres Generaciones Tequila, and the after party was jumping thanks to DJ Rick Geez.
Special thanks to our partners at Tres Generaciones for bringing this experience to life. More about Tres: www.tresgeneraciones.com/

This is probably the best Clipse interview I’ve heard looking at their history and past. It’s good when someone that knows the music interviews.
appreciate you!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
I wish we could dub this comment 100x! Best interview
I use to listen to The Clipse when I was 63, I am now 17. this will forever be a classic.
🤔🤔
damn nigga, their music made you younger?!?!
Ninja whaaaaat?!?
@@mrexecutive1184 lmaooo bro aged backwards haha
Finally a interview with Pusha in it without a Drake question or any other type of old gossip questions!!! Really good interview brother. Respect from Toronto. 💯💯💯💯
Actually it was a Drake question in there
Nothing like having well spoken artists sit down for a good interview
Hell of a duo. Glad no malice rappin again
Honestly No Malice never stopped after the Clipse, his solo work just never gained mainstream hype like Pusha's. Check out his solo albums Hear Ye Him and Let the Dead Bury the Dead.
@@TheGlobalMisfit i followed his solo stuff and even his podcast...but it seemed like after 2018 or so, he stopped doing both.
NAW
No malice never stopped Rappin. He’s just chosen to turn away from God .
Instead of talking about God, he’s Back to Promoting Cocaine to his own people and Bragg about Black murder
He's a Christian now, which is awesome!
He never stopped
No Malice’s verse on Cot Damn is 🔥🔥
“New verses please!”
Rest in peace to Tracy 🕊️
Push was hurting when No Malice started talking about Tracey.
U could see it
I remember coming home to Baltimore on break from Virginia (Air Force) walking into a local record shop and hearing The Funeral for the first time blasting through the speakers. My mind was BLOWN! The world wasn't ready for the Clipse.
Lord Willin’ is one of my favorite albums of all time. I had it on repeat!! Malice’s verse on Comedy Central 🔥🔥🔥
Turn over Caine over over again
Lord Willin' has not been play out it still lives up to this era of Mainstream era.I'd play that offers, Next 2 Clipse Album get stream on RUclips aswell
Indeed pusha snapped on that track too hell everybody... that track was one my of favorite track on that album
That garbage they just had 2 hits
@@Baja2424 u tweaking.
I'm not you
Every Album they Released was Innovative, Lyrical, and Hard Hitting
Always love seeing a No Malice n Pusha interview. It’s really refreshing listening to rappers who don’t need to be drunk or high or wildn to get through their craft you know?
Facts, intelligence is seen as bs in the hip hop community. Like it's a crime to speak properly, you can tell their parents grew them upright
Drink Champs is the Culture who is this guy but I understand ur ...
This is a fantastic interview. Sidenote- I love that No Malice has that same wide-eyed intensity that Pusha does when talking about something he feels strongly about. His reaction at 37:55 cracked me up.
I caught that fool ,thats hilarous😂😂
Indeed, They're blood brothers that are going to have lots of similarities.
Yep, the album is coming♥
let's hope...
I don’t know man. I have mixed emotions about it.
@@jjbing3 what do you mean bro? Sceptical that it won't "live up to our expectations"?
@@jjbing3I think that malice’s life changes will water down the vibe. Not hating on him but that snap and that vicious shit talk is what made the clipse. That may not be there anymore. My favorite duo ever.
@@johnjohnson1997could be an innovate move🤷♂️
I have nothing but love for these two
The loss of the clipse is the saddest thing ever in hip hop. Number 2 is the loss of the re up gang. Ab liva was a beast.
Yea I'm still looking for Ab music, but he doesn't really put anything out. Only the old stuff
An Roscoe P Fam-lay and Ab Liva featuring The Clipse album would've been greatly appreciated.
Facts. Re-Up Gang was under-rated, that Sandman was slick with it too. "Got It For Cheap" still in rotation.
Does anyone know what happened to Sandman?
Hands down one of thee best rap duo to ever rap🫡💯 Pusha & Malice 🔥🔥
You're tripping😂😂😂
Better than OutKast or Mobb Deep? 😮
Their up there but not the best
@@h_g.b.5792😂😂
@@Jessblaze610They Lyrically better than Mobb Deep, but Outkast tops em
That crowd shouldve been WAAAY MORE EXCITED. This is a legendary duo that haven't been united in over a decade
There’s literally like 20 people there. Can’t even call it a crowd. Not much they could do
People know. Small show.
Seeing the Clipse together for a new interview. Instant play.
I see why Drake , love these guys.
😂😂😂
It’s really messed up that he actually once was a HUGE fan of them.
just like he was a fan of 9th wonder and little brother, but when he got the bag swept em to the side. drake truly is scum@@TheRealest127
@@tomoflatheadRight. He literally does that to everyone 😂…..first it was Rick Ross, then The Clipse, then Kanye West lmaooo respect to Drake tho.
As a Duo, I will ALWAYS feel like they never get the accolades and respect from the STREET side of the hip hop culture that they deserve. And I mean they weren’t totally embraced by the streets like the Lox or like Dipset. And truthfully I think it’s because these guys just showcased a different level of INTELLECT that wasn’t common for “Street” Rap. And I think the streets didn’t know how to take that part of them. But Their first 2 albums, I still have no words for to this day because they were just that good and undeniably CLASSIC and their “I Got It 4 Cheap” Mixtapes should’ve crowned them as the GREATEST “Street Rap” Duo of ALL time. It’s CRIMINAL that they weren’t received by the streets how they should’ve been. 🤴🏾🔥🤴🏾🔥
Being from the 757 and watching them from a pup to a grown man and seeing them still scaling at a high level inspires me to keep going in my purpose.
keep going💡
Right on likewise. 757 all day!!!
Newport News here!!!

Great convo! I’ve wanted a new full length Clipse interview for years now and it was nothing short of what I expected. Thank you to all parties involved. NOW for the music 🖖🏾♾️
I love
Shiii when the Nina
I love this ❤ Thu
Ya history
I’m from va so malice n pusha I grew up on I’m glad they getting there flowers two dope dudes that kept hiphop authentic and real and stayed ten toes down and the guy who interviewed them I liked how he conducted the whole interview great questions and great content god bless all of them peace n love from Danville va
thank you thank you
“Im from Virginia where ain’t shit to do but cook 👨🏾🍳 “ -Clipse
All facts, great interview
That’s not true
It’s plenty of Jobs in the 757 which was the 804 area code. It’s a total of 11 shipyards that I know of. The projects in Norfolk all has elementary schools and community centers in them except Moton Park. Back in the 70’s in NYC all the housing projects had community centers and that’s how it was in Norfolk before a few got demolition/tore down. I come from a small city where none of that is around where it’s nothing to do but Trap. We would have love to walk our kids to the elementary school in our projects and basketball courts on top that. It’s plenty to do in Virginia. You crazy to think it’s nothing to do but cook.
Hell Hath no fury classic no skip album top 10 rap group all time easy push has classice projects as well great to see this i also luvs how much Push admires Malice as his older brother
Just give me flashback on went Fye Music was in the Greenville Mall,And I'd buy 2016 new releases cd from there, Hell Hath no fury was one of them.
@@willforeverpubg42352006 u meant ..lol
This is probably one of the best interviews ever. 👏🏽👏🏽
A media tour, shows together and no album is coming? C'mon now. Our prayers have been answered! Great sit down.
One of raps greatest duo’s right up there with Outkast. Hopefully they do a new album and some new work with Ye!
Loved this interview I hate they overlooked one of the greatest mixtapes of all time “Road To Till The Casket Drop”
I swear!!!!!!!!! I wish an interviewer talked about that
My favorite
They are better together; music and interviews. They truly balance one another. We got it 4 cheap volume 2 in my opinion is the best mixtape I’ve heard.
It's funny watching these two, Pusha's obviously the bigger name these days, but here he seems like that type of younger brother who follows his older brother wherever he goes
This interview was so amazing. These two guys will always have a place in my heart. Wish I knew how I could’ve gotten tickets to this, I went to the concert at the Kennedy Center. Thanks for this! 💜
I am so proud of the way they articulated and whole grown man o.g conscious all in one Skoo Skoo !!!!!
Use This Gospel was the start of this somewhat reunion of clipse. I'm so grateful and can't wait for the heat
Hell Hath No Fury is fucking FLAWLESS.
I SWEAR It is. 🔥🔥🔥
You can see and hear the change and growth in no malice.
The Clipse are a Top 10 [Hip-Hop] duo of all time
Two Great MCs 👍🏽👍🏽
You asked good questions. The only thing I’d want to ask no malice about his gospel albums. And Pusha about his relationship with Kanye.
757 forever 🎉look our area Hampton Roads will always have a special place in hip hop/rap/ r&b/we have greats that came from here not one hit wonders GREATS!!! GOD BLESS THE 757!! 🙌 🙏 LORD WILLIN!!!!
Salute to the Clipse for keeping hip hop alive there is no age on hip hop ain’t like they said
Great conversation!
Happy to see that Gene Thornton is at peace with his brother and what they built together.
Most underrated interviewer.
🙏🙏🙏
1999 I was on the porch out Huntersville when they did The Funeral video
Epic interview ! Kudos to the presenter, you could tell he’s a fan too!
I thoroughly enjoyed it !
Only thing I’d say is I wish he asked more about “Hell Hath No Fury “ especially in terms of how it was constructed. Pharrell was in his bag on the boards 🙌🏿🙌🏿
Thanks sir! You and me both, the challenge of doing it in front of an audience is that you can feel when people start to get stir crazy…
@@TheDoknoh you’re most welcome! 🙏 I totally understand and I think you’re excellent at your craft! Keep going 🫡🙌🏿
Yes! Thank you Idea Generation this is epic!
thank you for watching!

Awesome interview. Shout out to this channel from bringing my childhood legends
shout out you for being here!
Peace to VA. Beach. College Park 7CityVa all day! 💪🏾✊🏾
I expected the difference in music from Pherell, the order I received his artist was NORE, Kelis, the Clipes and I miss the whole 90's era but especially the decades transition! New Album please!!!!
Greatest Rap Duo ever Clipse
These guys are great. A lot of artists seem so serious or strange or put on an act in intereviews but these guys seem so genuine and cool
Great conversation, Noah 👏🏾
Great Interview Va Stand UP !!!
This was cool. Huge fan of these 2
very good listen
I love the clipse VA 🎉 Great work....
22:34 that laugh’s telling me there was so much industry bs and politics at the time they’re not gonna let on 😂😂 but yeah clipse and pusha are legends!!

Clipse are a legendary duo. Shout out to Ab Liva!

This whole interview I didn't hear words but the drum knock to Grindin in my head pardon my ADD 😊
Born in 83' and grew up in the 90's as a young teen...The Golden Decades where you literally could have/get anything you wanted if you just put your mind to it and built it. Always listened to the Clipse for motivation in Life and I'm still pushin' The Clipse out my windows till this very day. Your looking and listening to Hip-Hop Legends.
dope shit noah
The world wasn't ready for the clipse. Unique sound.
great interview. Lord Willin and Hell Hath No Fury are def classics forever
MIXTAPE IF NEEDED
I been tryin to talk malice into commin back I'm glad he did even if it's for shows good to see the Thornton brothers
A popular interpretation of the painting, 'The Garden of Earthly Delights,' is it's a dire warning on the perils of life's temptations so it would make sense that Clipse should put out a double album and name it after the triptych by Hieronymus Bosch, where the concept of the album is a battle between Light (played by No Malice) and Dark (played by Pusha T). The themes would befit their rap personas, with No Malice rapping on religion and Pusha T rapping on drug-slinging and the battles that ensue as a result.
Similar to Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, the album should be a mixture of solo and duo performances.
The double album on vinyl should have one album white; the other album black.
Finally, 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' should be their last album together; their magnum opus.
You're welcome.
I’m fuckin with this idea!!!!
Even a triple album 2 solos and one collaboration joint
"Lord Willin" intro is Classic
They did it
Solid💯
Awesomeness
The Wave 🔥🔥🔥👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
