I'm so glad I found this channel! It's uncanny- your home (before the talented DIYs and improvements you've made) is so similar to mine and the design features you chose are straight from my Pinterest boards! I have been PINING over adding a hutch to my kitchen counter for months but I have never seen anyone DIY it, much less with a fridge built in (another DIY on my list). I know this video is a little older but I have to stop and say how great it is to see someone with a home like mine (builder grade, needs some charm) make it look like a magazine feature! Okay, now I need to watch all your other videos!
Thank you! You’re so right- this house was completely builder grade. Nice but lacking any character. As soon as I walked in, I could see its potential. I’m so happy I was able to video the process of what you’ve been wanting to do to your house!
OMG..you are my IDOL! I have watched all of your kitchen vids because I am remodeling right now! I was stalled out on the island but you hjave given me the push and the confidence that I need to finish it. I have had Stone Coat countertop material here in a box for several months....I am going to finish this. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Thank you so much! The epoxy is one of my favorite projects I’ve done in this house because it really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I learned something new. It was really fun but messy! Good luck with your kitchen! ❤️❤️
That’s usually what I get for Christmas and my birthday. My husband says it’s so easy to buy presents for me because I don’t want jewelry or anything. I just want tools! 🤣🤣
My grandpa taught me the basics like using a drill and miter saw. Then, as I did different projects, I would collect different tools that I needed to make it easier. Most of the time I hadn’t used them before- I just gave it a shot! I also watch lots of diy/renovation videos. Then I realized I could totally do what I was watching in the videos so I decided to start this channel and it’s been so fun!
It took me weeks to find one on marketplace! And I still had to do some modifications to it. I’m sure I could have found something that could work maybe at ikea or something but I was trying to stick to a budget.
what"s the name of the drill bit you are using to put the hole in the support beams to make the shelf stronger please also did you prime the mdf? looks nice
The lights were actually already there but I had to remove then and reinstall because I was moving cabinets around. They are yunlights LED strip lights.
Do you know where your original brown wood cabinets are from? they look EXACTLY like mine, but they were in when I bought the house and I can't find any maker marks. I'm also building a fridge surround, and want to have a similar hutch, awesome job!!
I noticed you always say "we" But I always see you working by yourself. Except for a while ago when the cabinet about flipped over on you. So is someone helping you or are you including your viewers?? Love every video I've watched so far. You do a great job. I also wondered where did you learn your skills? Self taught?
I always say that without meaning to but I’m talking to the viewers. It’s just me doing all the work. I was lucky my husband was home that day when the cabinet was heavier than j thought. Here’s a link to a q&a video of how I got into diy- ruclips.net/video/Bsa1Kp51r-c/видео.html
@@KelseyRomitoDIY thank you so much for sharing your projects! I think I already watched all of your videos. I am planning to do the same casing to my fridge but my ceilings are 108 inches high. What do you recommend?

Thank you so much!
Doing this! ❤
I love this what is the size of the strip moulding you used as a finish
Did you use ply wood or mdf for fridge surround?
Mdf
I would bring up all cabinets to the ceiling by adding some faux cabinets on top
I totally would have if it was in the budget. I have another video where I enclose the space above them.
Kelseyville,
Wish I had your mad skills and your vision for DIY'S..
Who encouraged and trained you on all the tools that you use?
Sorry auto correct 😅 on your name..

Amazing I would love to transform my kitchen do you know where can I find a similar glass hutch I been looking on marketplace but nothing 🥰

Looks great. What did you do with the electrical outlet behind the cabinet that tou covered? Did you disconnect it and covered it?
I just covered it in case I switch things up one day.
what"s the name of the drill bit you are using to put the hole in the support beams to make the shelf stronger please also did you prime the mdf? looks nice
I think you’re talking about a kreg jig. And yes I primed the mdf
Kelsey what kind of lights did you buy for the bottom part of the cabinets?
The lights were actually already there but I had to remove then and reinstall because I was moving cabinets around. They are yunlights LED strip lights.

Sorry the house was 17 years old when we bought it so I have no idea.
@@KelseyRomitoDIY Yeah I'm in a similar boat, worth a shot! Thanks for responding!!

What material
You used for the fridge surround?
It’s 3/4” mdf
@@KelseyRomitoDIY is there a specific reason you chose to use mdf over plywood?
A couple of reasons-
Price and also mdf is perfectly flat and smooth. I knew I wouldn’t have to sand it before painting.
what size ply you used for fridge surround? Is it ply or MDF?
It is 3/4” mdf. 8 feet tall. I think the side pieces are around 36” wide.
@@KelseyRomitoDIY thanks...whats the size of the trim piece you used on the face of the fridge surround? using your video to build one myself.
@@pretty95138 I am doing the same thing. Did you finish yours?

@@bellanathalie yes..i did :)
I’m not clear on what trim was put to camouflage the side of the refrigerator
Are you talking about the bender board? You can get it at Home Depot.
Wow. You rock🎉
