- A hearing is underway in Georgia where a judge is considering a motion to disqualify prosecutor Fani Willis from the state's election interference case against Donald Trump. Michael Roman, a former Republican National Committee staffer, alleged that Willis had an improper relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, paid him more than $650,000 for his work for the D.A.'s office and then benefited financially from the relationship when Wade allegedly took her on cruises and trips.

Our justice system is more about rules and procedures than it is about truth.
I’m so glad to hear you say that! It’s not something that you want to believe-it made wonder if I was crazy. But the fact that you pointed out so clearly is the absolute truth, How can anyone feel safe when the justice system feels free to indulge in its own biases rather than seeking the truth. They don’t even seem to care that people see them doing that 😮 I don’t know about you, but that gives me a feeling of being trapped by something bigger than me.
I had a Judge explain to me that it is all about the "letter of the law". When I asked, "But what about justice?" He agreed that I had a point, but we were dealing with the "letter of the law".
It’s no truth without the rules and procedures in court. To get to the truth the rules and procedures must be followed.
What you said about the Justice Department requiring rules and procedures in order to be fully functional is true but the human factor can not be discounted. That means that we have to admit that we have certain feelings that can affect how we see things regardless of the actual truth of what we observe. That brings us back to your understanding that justice requires that we have laws and regulations and have a legal roadmap to base decisions on. So it’s not “the facts ma’am just the facts and nothing but the facts,”that make up the framework of the justice system . If it was we wouldn’t need the Supreme Court. Which brings us back how can we have complete trust and faith in the decisions the courts make when we can’t hold their feet to the fire? I agree with anyone who believes that the Supreme Court’s justices should have term limits and that we the people should have some say in who gets chosen to serve. If you have to mandate that the people have no say in the decisions of who is going to have final say in the most intimate and fundamental rights we have as in, everything from the personal reproductive decisions, freedom of speech boundaries, and the right to love and raise a family mandates, why should we blindly follow the dictates of these very human beings.

His marriage was dissolve three years before they met. Legal separation since 2015. They didn't date until much, much later, 2021.

Let's keep in mind that Nathan Wade initially denied having a relationship with Willis, but when the receipts showed otherwise, Wade amended his statement to plead the 5th Amendment. It should go without saying that a prosecutor who pleads the 5th re: a matter of personal integrity and morality is not fit to prosecute anybody on criminal charges. Also, I've heard that Wade's experience as a judge dealt mostly with driving violations, and that he has never presided over a felony case. That hints that Willis ONLY hired him because of their personal relationship, so that she could pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money which they could spend together. That is the very portrait of policital corruption.

There is no conflict of interest. Fani had a relationship with a member of her own team. They are on the same side. If the relationship was with a jury member, witness, or another defendant, conflict of interest.
They broke the rules. it clearly states that you cannot have a relationship of a romantic nature on the same team. It’s a conflict of interest because she was responsible for payments. She was paying her lover above and beyond the normal and reasonable amount.

Georgia legal precedent has found that a conflict of interest exists when there is a “personal interest or stake in the defendant’s conviction.” Their relationship regardless of when it started does not reach this. IDK, I'm not a lawyer. This just seems like a reach to me. Anything to get her (and her office) off the case because they know no other district has the means or desire to take it up.
Short answer is She is paying him a large sum of money, of which she is benefiting from. Not to mention this guys lack of qualifications over other prosecutors already in the DA office.
