    Why does nobody talk about Hal getting nerfed the day after Liquid killed it, allowing everyone else an easier time to catch up? That certainly didn't help Liquid's mental health. They had to suffer through it and for such a heavily monetized and prestigious event Blizzard literally gave other guilds an easier time to catch up and get ahead of Liquid.

      Planetcracker beam nerf, boss health nerf and more consistent mote spawns (inconsistent spawns could make the fight really annoying since all the motes spawned from same part of the room) were added on march 12th. The mote spawn change might have been added even earlier. They killed the boss on march 14th. Think they were way more annoyed by anduin since it was grossly overtuned when they first got to it. After wasting several days on optimizing cds and comp they killed it within 24 hrs of the big nerfs that were added on march 17th.

      what;s your point there? health is more important i agree but this is up to them, to raid as much as they want to be the first. It has nothing to do with blizzard, if u feel exhausted dont compete to that, the idea of a month long ace is actually best and no the 1week trolls we got the past years..they need better "training" i'd say, and bigger roster, do u actually know how much they made having 30-50k viewers for 20 straight? fck the race, they made 10times more than the whole expansion lmao.

    Lol, Echo ATE Liquid for dinner in this raid haha

  • @jacobpascoe6220
    @jacobpascoe6220 2 года назад +2

    IMO a factor in this race was attitudes and cultures between guilds. Tune into the Liquid streams and things are very light hearted, jokes are being made and there is a clear focus on balancing hardcore gaming and having fun.
    Tune into Echo and everyone is more focused and structured. Scripe is less tolerant of banter and chatter that isn't centred around strategy and winning. They seem a lot more focused. No doubt both teams want to win but for Echo it seems all about the win. They have a more professional, albeit less enjoyable approach (for the players) that is more conducive to winning the race. I've noticed this in a few races TBH.
    Making jokes and bantering etc might not seem that detrimental, and it wouldn't be over a couple day race, but delaying strategic talk for even several seconds each time over the course of 14 days will add up to many hours of distraction. The biggest detriment to motivation was probably falling behind, and I reckon this was a big contributor to falling behind.
    Not sure if Liquid will win races consistently with their more relaxed approach.

    • @Frawt
      @Frawt 2 года назад +1

      It's not even just the distraction, 'cause having numerous hours of super happy haha joke fun time doesn't sound bad. The issue with Liquid, I feel, is that they have people just making noises for like minutes at a time just 'cause it's too light-hearted and it all piles on itself, and just being so...active and loud all the time tires out the Liquid players both physically and mentally. This definitely works out better with shorter races, since you still ride that jokey hype train the whole way to the end, but if it comes down to a war of attrition between the two best guilds in the world, Echo probably definitely had both more physical and mental energy left, since they were more composed throughout.
      The only issue is that Echo doesn't NEED to meme to win at all, so not only are they on equal footing with Liquid in shorter races, but they have an advantage over them in longer races. I dunno if Liquid will be able to introduce a sweeping culture change in the whole guild during RWF, but I think they definitely need to rein in some of the louder players and hunker down more...and I really hope they do, because they ARE a more fun of a guild (to watch and follow) than Echo, even though I like people from both and both guilds as a whole, and the way they bowed out of Sepulcher's RWF was just...deflating.

    • @xYiazmatx
      @xYiazmatx 2 года назад +2

      The real contributor to falling behind was losing hundreds of pulls to unkillable bosses (or, for lihivum, having to stop pulling entirely while blizz was deciding how they wanted the boss to be killed) that no other guild had to deal with. Over a short race that can be made up for, but with 5 end-boss difficulty encounters? No shot.

    • @jacobpascoe6220
      @jacobpascoe6220 2 года назад +2

      @@xYiazmatx Nah, I don't buy it. Liquid were almost a day ahead on Halondrus. They killed it around 17:00 on March 14th. Echo didn't kill until March 15th at around 13:00. It was the drastic strategic difference between Echo and Liquid on Lords of Dread and Rygelon that made the difference. I recall in fact Liquid saying that the boss was unkillable, and decided to bed down, only for Echo to 4 heal and punish them hard. The bosses weren't unkillable (as demonstrated), Echo just had the edge, partly because, in my opinion, they were more focused, and as Frawtarius mentioned, less drained.
      If anything, the waiting on Lihuvium gave them a slight reprieve. And actually, the culture that I mentioned before will have a more significant detrimental effect on the latter, harder bosses. Their raw mechanical skill will carry them on the earlier bosses, while the later ones require strategy and full focus on the objective in addition to that raw skill. In my opinion this is why they dropped off.
