On that Saturday, the first weekend July 1985, it was the first time that I saw a SUZUKI GSXR 750 (which is the same as to say the 1st "RR" ever.). It was from a "tourist" (I mean, not a contestant), who had come from UK to see the race. I was impressed, because the bike had not even arrived in Spain for sale. (It would be in 1 month). The guy was wearing an exact replica of Barry Sheene helmet home made (there were no replicas yet, or only Spencer, s). I was amazed, watching such rocket from my Vespa 200. I was eighteen at that time, and it was also my first time abroad. One of the top 4 memories in my life, that 9 days trip from Coruña to Setubal and Serra da Arrabida

@@Drifty40 I was at the UGP in 87,it was the start of the second lap of the F1TT race,it was raining heavy and the was a lot of surface water on the track I had to jump out of the way as Klaus Klein crashed,he died right in front of me.only then did the officials cancel the rest of the days races.very sad !!!!
@@j2msu341 I remember the day well.......Klaus aqua planned as he was passing the paddock, going onto the flying kilo.....we had to help push the ambulance out of the paddock as it was spinning in the mud. I have photos of that day, where it was raining so hard, the camera was focusing on the rain......and picture of Joey's bike in the garage/tent with the front wheel off and the front forks dropped Into welly boots.
