I think the original sets are good but these new 2019 sets bring back so many memories like nostalgia.

I really think Lego should do this more, remaking old sets people liked. It would be a good thing every now and again.
The-Changeling-King they do it constantly, Star Wars, Harry Potter and many more they’ll remake old sets sometimes smaller sometimes bigger

I'd say, for the most part, the new sets are better. LEGO has learned a lot since NINJAGO began.

I really respect these sets cause some people like me never had a chance to get those older sets.
In my opinion, the new snowmobile for Zane is far superior to the original. The original one was kind of ugly, small, and disrespected. The new set really makes the snowmobile much better and I think that it is 100% better.
Or you just can combine the 2 sets soo you can make it show accurate and stop crying about it
The builds themselves are a great and much-needed upgrade, but I still MUCH prefer the OG character designs.
The Golden Dragon and the Ultra Dragon are the two exceptions. The OG Dragon builds will always remain supreme.
As someone who knew for Ninjago since it began, I prefer the older sets, but there are some exceptions like the monostary
I remember back in 2011 when the OG sets were out some of best years of my life...
Get the Monestary of Spinjitzu. You get all the Ninja and Wu. Also Whiplash

My only problem with the new sets, I would love if LEGO did something like the collector's Lego Star Wars sets, have a classic minifig, give you more a reason to collect them, to me the new minifigs just don't have the same charm as the classics. Call me nostalgic but that's my point of view. HOWEVER, my main problem with the Monastery wasn't about the set, it was about Cole's scythe. It looks so much weirder compared to what it was
bro I like the old golden dragon with Lloyd, but it felt so cheap. When I was looking at Lloyd it felt like those fake racing cars at 99 cent store, and it had some broken cracks in it😕

I am such a oldy fan of ninjago but honestly a few of these new sets brought me more nostalgia than the older ones which I find strange. I bought 3 of the legacy sets and they are totally awesome. I actually bought the original dojo set you showed from 2011 and I remember enjoying that one a lot at the time but the new monastery is so much better. Awesome vid! :)

At the time good memories same with the another one that had kai fighting a skeleton.

Why isn't anyone talking about how much the ultra dragon's body and legs improved?
All people care is the heads and the wings which are probably 1/4 of the set
No one seems to know how to make a proper analysis to a set

@WillFanofMany If it is supposed to be the original one then why didn't they try to make the heads at list look like the original one's or make the original head's but smaller and make the neck's longer.
I do agree the head and the wings are probably the most noticeable changes but I think the legs and body are a much needed change though i still prefer the wings from the original

Funny story: I had bought the old golden dragon set but, it didnt come with the golden ninja figure, someone took the figure out of the set. I eventually just ordered 1 off of amazon for very cheap

I remember when I loved ninjago (don’t watch it anymore) that I had every single old set, saying to myself “dang, I wish they had the molds of all four golden weapons instead of just one) and now they do, god, with I was still a kid and these sets just came out

I love the legacy wave so much because since im kinda new to ninjago, i could get a chance to get and build the older sets!!
I have 1 bad thing to say about these sets: the new ninja masks for me look ugly (especially with lloyd's mask) I don't know why. I also don't really lile the new face print for Lasha, the green serpentine. For me, the old one was so perfect, but this new one... umm... yeah. I also don't like the new head for the skeletons. But other then these facts, I love these new sets. I'm gona buy at least 1. Since my one of my favorite ninjago minifigure type are the serpentine snakes. And I missed the old sets as well. All do, I really wish the return of the serpentine vehicles.
I had the 2012 storm fighter and i liked it a lot and the new one is so nostalgic i might buy it some day
Fun fact: the legacy suits are the season 10 ( March of the Oni ) suits and the monastery and the earth driller were also seen in that season so kinda funny
I feel special now because I have the final battle sets including the golden dragon :)
I love that they did this ive been bored lately (quarantine) and its fantastic to watch all old tv shows from my child hood and ninjago was one of them (i only like season 1-3 anything past that was crap in my opinion) so i bought the 4 vehicles (kai,zane,cole and jay) and the final sets im getting for my birthday these being Samuria mech and golden lloyd mech. The only thing that annoyed me is that we never got Cole's tread assualt, but it doesent matter. Im still very happy spending time byilding these sets that i used to have :)

I bought the Monastery set and I absolutely adore and love it!!!
Something I did miss from it was the dragon statue in the middle that Kai accidenatelly stepped on in the first episode - When I bought the Monastery I also bought the golden dragon set, mostly for The updated Overlord, but also Lloyd and the short stone warrior (Ninjago really loves its 4 armed and short legged dudes haha - and also bigfigs as of season 6 I guess).
Anyway, 2 days later I also bought the Monastery training because I wanted the build to put together with the Ninjago movie training set (which looks pretty good actually, starting to look like a ninja dojo). I feel that the Monastery set (the big one) could have used 2 extra walls on the sides and maybe a bit more training stuff on the inside, and while the small Monastery set adds a few things, I feel it would have been cool if it added a wall or something.
I might think like this because Lego did this with the first Harry Potter line, where many of the sets could be put together to expand the Hogwarts castle - I feel like it would have been fun if the other sets had a few small things that you could add to the Monastery to make it bigger or fill up the courtyard.
I mean sure, the small set adds things, but I wanted more! Anyhow, this wave was great as they updated Pythor and the Overlord, the suits were pretty good (though I think my favorite Lloyd GI is the Sons of Garmadon wave) and adding the Monastery was a great, great choice as I feel that the waves are sometimes a beat vehicle heavy, although that is understandable.
So yeah, a great wave of sets to a great show that I really love. Could have used more things to add to the Monastery, but the fact that they released that in the first place is its on reward - Maybe a new Samukai would have been nice, although the original (that I have) is pretty solid as it is. Oh yeah, why only Pythor? Where are the other Snake Generals? Given your avatar photo I would have at least expected you to question where the Venomari leader was (or maybe you settled for the two Venomari that was included?)
Anywas, great video, nice to see someone compare the old and new sets! I also thought LEGO had made some sort of dojo before, but I guess the Monastery is a new set in every way, and I couldn't be happier about it! :)

In the monestary training set nya is in a ninja gi for some reason when she doesn’t become a ninja until possesion but it’s nice to get an updated dog this early

Just purchased the monastary on amazon for ma birthday. So excited
im still debating on what i think of it, i definitely want the monestary (apologies for mispelling), ultra dragon and storm fighter. the driller too but i just cant get over the fact that they went for coles drill instead of finishing the serpentine vehicles and giving him that camo/snake vehicle thing (forgot name, again my bad), i would have loved to see a remake of it so hopefully they do a second wave of legacy sets. as for the ultra dragon the original is beyond better than the new one, its so much cleaner and easier to look at while the new one is just.. so messy so very messy, especially with the heads, up close in focus the heads look great but when you look at the entire model its just a giant spiky blob honestly, it sure wont stop me from trying to get it though, perhaps itll be easier to look at in person

The dojo of spinjitzu was my first ever ninja go set. It feels like a long time ago now. Especially because I stoped collecting ninjago after tte rebooted season, which to me was the end of ninjago. Everything after felt out of place and... different...

The reason Zane's snow-mobile is lacking the transparent blue pieces is because they are Lego doesn't produce them anymore

I like the new kais blade cycle better because I feel like the old one was too bulky in the front. I honestly really liked the new snowmobile and blade cycle because they look more slick. But yeah I’m adding on one of the front ice pieces from the original to the new one
