I live in the north of Sweden. My family is forest Sámi and have a place out in the swamp areas. We mainly live on fish and reindeer herding. One summer when I was around 10 years old we came from a fishing trip. Me, my mother, my brother and two of my cousins. We had left the boat a bit farther away from the boathouse as we were to go back to pick up the nets later. On our way back to my grandmother's cottage, passing the old boathouse my brother who was around 5 years at the time stopped and pointed to a little man standing beside it. He actually came up to my brother talking to him. Me, my mother and our cousins both heard and saw him clearly. He was standing in front of us, wearing a blue shirt, red hat, brown pants and some kind of shoes made out of tree bark. And he had a grey beard. As he was around the hight of a six years old he had eye contact with my brother. He doesn't remember what the little man said to him, but he remembered him actually talking to to him. We all talk about it to this day. It's such a special thing we'll never forget it.
