Enjoy 😉
Nice one Steveo!!
Thanks Steve 👍
Hi Steve, is there anything to substitute suet.
Yes you can get vegetarian type of suet from Makro , in the Bakery I buy 16kg bag of vegetarian suet it looks the same as original suet 😀
@@crazybaker1 Thanks Steve for your quick reply, love all your videos .
Hi Steve, great video, can you still make this mincemeat by leaving out the alcohol.
Yes it's optional but replace with juice 😀
Thx baker, now I know how it's made ! Can the mixing be done with the machine ?
Yes of course on very slow, but remember the last to go in is the juice, at the bakery I make a difference type of mincemeat, because of the yeast and flour. .With this mincemeat mix you can add in extras in 6 weeks time if you want 😉 laters Steve
@@crazybaker1 Thx Steve !!!!
Do you not have to cook it in the oven or on the hob
Not for this recipe, only thing is in 6 weeks time you may want to add in some extra brandy 😜 make sure you wash your fruit 😉
Thank you
@@sandradent65 your welcome 😀
Hi, Would this recipe work with fresh beef suet (not atora)?
No worries about beef or suet, but if you wish to use beef and suet then that's fine 🙂
Phew! Looked it up with about 7 weeks to go!
Question. If you’re one of those people that’s not keen on getting a chunk of mixed peel in your mouth, would you recommend blitzing the mixed peel in the food processor until it’s teeny tiny, or omitting the mixed peel and adding extra lemon rind and I’m guessing some orange rind too?
I think I might halve the batch though. I really only need 2 mince pies 😂😂 oh and I want to blitz some of the mincemeat into a paste to add to a custard tart. I think that would be fab!
Yes I am not a lover of mixed peel, Yes best to make it In to smaller pieces 😀 after the 6 or so weeks if it's a bit tight just add in some extra brandy 😀 😉 I still have some from last year, very tasty 😋
@@crazybaker1 okay great. I’ll do that. Thanks. I’ve got everything except the fresh fruit. I’ll go get that in the next few days and get it done. I had thought I’d try making a Christmas pudding this year too but I suspect I’ve left that much too late. We can buy that. I’ll make it next year.
Looks like a good video, but I must say that real mincemeat included actual meat, such as beef and pork. That's what puts the "meat" in mincemeat.
This is the sweet version 🙂
