Just to clear some things up, Logan was born in 1832 making him 197 by the time the movie "Logan" comes around. The short version for Gambit's powers is that he can control the kenetic energy in objects, he can make it become unstable and then make objects explode. Hence why he keeps the cards, with just one deck of cards he might as well be carrying give or take 52 explosives tucked away in one little pocket.
Logan’s origins here is pretty much accurate to his comic book counterpart. He lives so long cause of his healing factor. Only difference is Wolverine in the movies is ALOT older than in the comics. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! It took some of the set dressing from the comics but completely destroyed the story of wolverine. Wolverine absolutely never volunteered for the procedure. Sabretooth did remember Logan in X1. There is a very brief shot of Sabretooth picking up Logan's dogtags in their hideout, to acknowledge their history together.
It was definitely my impression in X1 that the character of Sabretooth did not know Wolverine; they did NOT play up any hint that they were related. A lot of the continuity of the Xmen / Wolverine films is really not continuous at all; they were making it up as they went along, so trying to fit all the pieces together in a logical way is a waste of energy. I know the character looks much different here, but Victor is sabretooth from the first Xmen movie, the guy that attacks logan's truck when he leaves the bar with Rogue.
His real name's actually James Howlett & his healing ability and claws ARE parts of his mutations since birth. The adamantium was just an enhancement to his mutant ability, which slows down his aging.
It's interesting they mention after the enhancement, 'no rejection', only to find out he was in constant rejection which we see the full effects of in Logan.
@@terrylandess6072 Well yes, but no. In Logan, he's reaching his midlife where his healing is starting to slow down, thus aging him slightly quicker and exposing all the health problems his healing was preventing because it's no longer able to keep up. You see him getting grey too in Days of Future Past.
In the comics, after Weapon X, Wolverine joins a Canadian mutant group called Alpha Flight. This is where he gets his famous yellow and black costume from the comics. Guardian, Vindicator, Puck, Snowbird, Shaman Northstar, Aurora, Marrina, Sasquatch, and Talisman.
As you go forward with the X-Men movies, it's important to remember that this movie was a massive commercial and critical failure that everyone hated, and the future movies ignore it. The actual Deadpool movies actively make fun of it.
I heard about a time that Magneto ripped all the adamantium from Logan's skeleton. Nasty business. Also another story of Wolverine regenerating from a single drop of blood, but that one seems a bit stretched.
Mary, you gotta do LOGAN! Seriously, Logan is Hugh Jackman's final movie as Wolverine and it's freaking awesome. The best one yet. Please do it, that would be awesome :-) Hope all is well.
36:50 you might have forgotten, the start of the film very much establishes that he is nearly immortal, survived being shot, stabbed etc, the adamantium just made him even stronger
The actual Weapon X Team according to the X-men animated series are Wolverine, Sabertooth, Maverick (the sharp shooting replaces him), and Sliverfox who Wolverine had a relationship with. The people behind Weapon X messed with his memory to make him forget. Deadpool is part of the team too in the comics.
Wolverine was named James Howlett at birth. He later learned that he wasn't the son of John Howlett, but rather their groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. So, he began using Logan.
So let me get this straight, you saw him being hit by a firing squad and him responding that "it tickled" and you still couldn't figure out he was able to self heal and regenerate long before the adamantium?
In the comics Adamantium was created in an attempt to recreate Vibranium, and the inventor of the adamantium bonding process was Lord Dark Wind Aka Professor Kenji Oyama, who is also the father of Lady Deathstrike from X2. Also in the comics it is The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) who is responsible for helping Wolverine escape from the Weapon X lab
-Kayla can manipulate emotions, thats why she can "control" people! She calm Logan several times and she was able to put suicidal emotions on Stryker! -Remy is one of the fan favourites of x-men and he is the boyfriend of Rogue (when they dont brake up) and he can recharge objects with Kinetic energy, most of the times he use cards because is easy to carry and makes damage without putting other people in danger. -Victor Creed is the same character that X1 Sabretooth. Thats why Sabretooth on X1 stole Logans Tags. Its not clear why he didnt recognezed Logan, or maybe he did, but he didnt mention.
To be fair, they don't exactly have the full rights to make a proper hulk movie so maybe that's why he's so behind on being properly fleshed out in the MCU. Same situation used to be with Spidey but Sony decided to make it more of a team effort and let Marvel use him for MCU movies.
@@BDTXIII Because content creation is hard as hell and sometimes things slip through the cracks. Ain't no thang in the end! Mary's thumbnails may vary, but its still the same ol' Mary Cherry.
I would have preferred Gambit meeting Rogue in line for the Cure in X3 and charming her to leave with him after he pick-pocketed the crowd. Show off his power after the pair were fueling up a car and he has a cashier tell him the card was reported stolen. "Well, I will have to charge this card another way..." He throws the card at the security camera as he leaps into the convertible and drives past an interstate marker saying the distance to New Orleans. Given the attack on the lines for the Cure, the prime suspect of the gas station attack would be Pyro.
Wolverine’s name is James Howlett I never knew why his dog tags said Logan but that’s why at first he called himself Logan he thought that was his name. There were plans for years for a Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum but it never got made
victor is the one in the beginning of the first xmen movie that attack rogue and wolverine when they are driving down the street , the one he fights on top of the state of liberty
In the comics his main mutant power was healing/regeneration, it was this healing ability that enabled him to survive the adamantium infusion. In the comics adding the adamantium dulled his healing, it was much better without it
Imagine Logan in WWI trench warfare. Never disarmed, crossing No Man's Land with landmines, poison gas, and interlocking machine gun arcs, [or more likely Logan and Victor scouting the battlefield and running amok in German trenches.]
Wolverine's full name is James "Logan" Hawlett. His original abilities are bone claws, healing factor and sharpened senses. After adding Adamantium coating to his skeleton he became virtually indestructible.
This movie had at least 2 different end credits scene. One was the deadpool head that was shown here. The other was Logan drinking at a bar and the bartender asks if he's drinking to forget and he repkys that he's drinking to remember.
Logan has always had healing powers before he got the metal in his bones and his healing slows his aging which is why he's lived for so long. And Logan is just a name he gave himself to distance himself from his dead dead I assume and just to I'd assume not get caught by police for killing his dad. His real name is James Howlett and you've actually did meet his brother he was the big man beast guy who was working for Magneto his brother just became more of an animal over the years and doesn't remember Logan at all.
I think I was one of the 5 people who actually enjoyed this movie when it came out; I suppose because I went in with flexible expectations. Wolverine is such a beloved character such that unless the movie was perfect in every way it wasn't going to be "good enough", no matter what. This movie treated the Wolverine character with respect, but it also never tried to be anything other than an old fashioned comicbook movie. 2 👍 WAY up.
13:50 108 Fahrenheit is 42 degrees Celcius. 19:45 That shot is a meme. “Chuck Norris? Never heard of her.” 24:00 Gambit can charge objects with explosive energy.
Ryan Reynolds plays Wade Wilson in this movie. Wade Wilson in the Marvel's lore becomes Deadpool. In fact during Deadpool 2 there is a scene where Deadpool shoots Wade Wilson from this movie in the head.
Sabertooth has a child in the comics with Mystique who has no powers named Grayden Creed. He creates a hate group that hate mutants, Friends of Humanity.
The one who turn into diamond is Emma Frost one of the most powerful mutant and an Omega level Telepath. She rival's Prof. X powers but if i'm mistaken. Emma is more skilled. And her Diamond Form is pretty cool too you don't age, no need to breathe, no need to eat or drink. But you are emotionless and she can't used her Telepathy but it gained her strenght, unlimited stamina, super speed or increase of speed.

1:12 As someone who grew up in the 1900s, I feel ancient now.
@Ronin Unleashed maybe 'The Wolverine' and then 'LOGAN'
@@4GT10 good point! I was getting a little ahead of myself. Love that movie 😁
She also needs to watch days of future past and first class.
she'll get there she is doing all the x-men movies
The finale being set at Three Mile Island is meant to be a reference to the real accident that occurred
So she should watch The China Syndrome for cultural context, as that movie came out by coincidence around the time of the Three Mile Island scare.
I though mystique was a member too? I could be mistaken though.
@@manny7662 maybe she was. I think in one version she is.
"I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice." - Wolverine
Keep RDJ's Sherlock Holmes series on your bucket list. Its a classic 👌🏼
Fun Fact: Ryan did not play as Weapon 11. They used Scott Adkins of Undisputed fame instead.
Oh you have got to see Deadpool 2. It ties in with this movie almost perfectly.
'X-Force!'
I love how no one can really recognize sabretooth/Victor because his appearance was so different in X-Men one 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gambit's power is that he can turn the potential energy of objects into kinetic energy by charging them aka he can make cards into grenades.
Fun fact, Liev Schreiber, aka Victor, aka, Sabertooth, was originally cast as Wolverine in the X-Men series but scheduling conflicts prevented it
The MCU will never make a Wolverine this tragic and badass
Just look what they did to Hulk
To be fair, they don't exactly have the full rights to make a proper hulk movie so maybe that's why he's so behind on being properly fleshed out in the MCU. Same situation used to be with Spidey but Sony decided to make it more of a team effort and let Marvel use him for MCU movies.
uhhhhh
Love your reactions! Just a heads up, your thumbnail has "First Class" and not "Wolverine Origins" as the logo!
How did she make such a basis mistake?
@@BDTXIII Because content creation is hard as hell and sometimes things slip through the cracks. Ain't no thang in the end!
Mary's thumbnails may vary, but its still the same ol' Mary Cherry.
For those who just know the movies: Remy (Gambit) is in the comics Rogues actually boyfriend and not Iceman.
I would have preferred Gambit meeting Rogue in line for the Cure in X3 and charming her to leave with him after he pick-pocketed the crowd. Show off his power after the pair were fueling up a car and he has a cashier tell him the card was reported stolen. "Well, I will have to charge this card another way..."
He throws the card at the security camera as he leaps into the convertible and drives past an interstate marker saying the distance to New Orleans.
Given the attack on the lines for the Cure, the prime suspect of the gas station attack would be Pyro.
@@CaptainFrost32 Sounds cool I must admit.
Remy and Rogue are currently married to each other in the comics
Your face when you said "adimantzzz" was worth the watch. Lol.
His original mutant ability was his healing factor, so that's always been there.
Wolverines healing slows his aging
No. Because of side effect long term of adamantium.
@@venomrunsdeep7654 you sure kid
also his claws and healing ability started at the same time when he was a kid
I think I was one of the 5 people who actually enjoyed this movie when it came out; I suppose because I went in with flexible expectations.
Wolverine is such a beloved character such that unless the movie was perfect in every way it wasn't going to be "good enough", no matter what.
This movie treated the Wolverine character with respect, but it also never tried to be anything other than an old fashioned comicbook movie.
2 👍 WAY up.
Ryan Reynolds plays Wade Wilson (Deadpool)
And Wolverine's older brother is a Sabertooth. Sabertooth was in the first X-Men movie.
14:59 Did he hear that? Yes, he heard it...
Victor is Sabertooth, who worked for Magneto in the first XMen movie.
13:50 108 Fahrenheit is 42 degrees Celcius.
19:45 That shot is a meme. “Chuck Norris? Never heard of her.”
24:00 Gambit can charge objects with explosive energy.
Ryan Reynolds plays Wade Wilson in this movie. Wade Wilson in the Marvel's lore becomes Deadpool. In fact during Deadpool 2 there is a scene where Deadpool shoots Wade Wilson from this movie in the head.
He healed all through the wars and he and Vic survived a firing squad all before the Atomantium came around.
Sabertooth has a child in the comics with Mystique who has no powers named Grayden Creed. He creates a hate group that hate mutants, Friends of Humanity.
The one who turn into diamond is Emma Frost one of the most powerful mutant and an
Omega level Telepath.
I love the "Wolverine movies,me and my cousins have been big fans for a long time. I love 90's cartoon. It's such a big staple for "X-Men. Dope video "Mary⚘
I just realized that when Stryker says he swears On His sons life I means nothing cause he hates that he was a mutant and killed him
Gambit can kinetically charge objects. They explode.
He carries packs of cards as ammo.
Wolverine fought in almost all wars, even meeting Captain America in world war 2 in the comics
Why does the thumbnail have "X-Men: First Class" though?
He’s a lumberjack and he’s ok, he sleeps all night and he works all day! 😀
Mary, Wolverine's healing would be considered more as accelerated' than 'self' healing. Victor was in the first X-Men movie played by another actor, he was Sabertooth ("Scream for me"). This version of Deadpool was really screwed-up. There was going to be a Gambit movie, it was canned
18:30 rule 101 with any military or government shown in movies or television…they must control everything…wolverine is showing an unwillingness to submit to their control and authority, as such they must either bring him under their control, or kill him
There is NEVER the faintest glimmer of the the concept of “just leave them alone and they will leave us alone”…
also victor's code name is Sabertooth
Logan's healing factor is why he could survive the adamantium infusion procedure.
Logan is his middle name. James Logan Howlett.
He took on that name as an alias.
There’s this other alternate post credit scene where Logan is in a bar, drinking to remember.
28:43 The sheer honesty here. 🤭🤣
Wolverines name is James Howlett and his nickname is Logan. He always had a power of self healing.
Director Gavin Hood took some unfortunate liberties with the story. In the comics Wolverine and Sabertooth aren't related.
Although Chris Claremont's original intention was Sabretooth was to be Wolverine's father but that never happened.
@@TheYoungDoctor another concept was that Wolverine was supposed to have a vampiric sister.
Victor Creed, a.k.a. Sabertooth, was in the first X-Men movie. Somewhat more feral than you see him now.
"that other woman" died because Wolverine just filled her full of adamantium. In this procedure they replace his bones with it.
