  • If you have seeds that should be good and they will not germinate, what do you do? If some of the seeds are 'newish', then tossing them out and buying new will not solve the problem. How do you figure out the problem? Here is my final last ditch attempt at getting my pepper seeds started.

Looking forward to seeing your results. We don't have as big of a setup as you have, but we have been gardening for a lot of years. And this year - first time - we had a ton of seeds that didn't do jack squat. Same conditions we've used every year to start. The only variables were the seeds, the starter mix and the water. So we're doing our own brand of experiments to see what in the [bleep] is going on here. I'm more than willing to say I'm doing something wrong. I just want to know what it is so that I don't do it again.

Many varieties can take up to or over a month to germinate. Give them time.

You need to keep the ground temperature around 70. Otherwise you can cook the seeds. Had the same problem last year. I ended up cutting veggie to get undried seeds and planted them. They came up.. but it took longer for seeds to come up that the packet said. Had to many plants.

I've been doing the napkin in a ziplock bag thing but I leave a small bit of water in the bag, less than half an ounce, and I breathe into the bag a few times before I blow into it and close it up when it's swollen. I've been getting nearly 100% germination rates. I hang the bags in a westward facing window in a warm room for three days and then every day I open each bag and change the air, blowing into the bag again. Maybe I'm crazy but everything sprouts. 😂😂

Dig into the cell and try to find the seeds! I think its something with how you water.

What soil/mix are you sowing the seedlings into?

MIGardener is reliable for seeds. Takes awhile to get them (about a week to a week and a half) but you at least get them. Lol! And to be fair, they are in Michigan and I'm in Louisiana. Luke has a RUclips channel too.
