Little Mountain Ranch amazing 🤩🤩
Love from India....♥️♥️♥️
Good Morning! The weather has thankfully taken a turn for the better in the past few days and with that, the garden is finally starting to take off. I hope the same thing is happening for you if your garden got off to a bit of a rocky start this year.
Wishing you a wonderful day.
~Chelsea
I'm excited that the weather has improved!!! Prayfully the treatment for the tomatoes works as it looks like they will give you a great harvest.
If you wanted to play with your broccoli greens....here's a recipe
ruclips.net/video/sYQHKDEh-8c/видео.html
Such a lovely garden. Love the poppies.
We had that happen to our tomatoes last year....we treated by adding epsom salt to our water. Worked great
I need a greenhouse bad. I am going to have to build a sturdy one because of my wind and elements exposure. Great video!
Yes, Here in NL we build things to withstand 140km/hr wind gusts.
storms with 100km/hr gusts are normal and 120 isn't rare, so add a bit for assurance.
I love all the color combinations in your wildflower forest garden! It’s magazine worthy.
Happy pole beans. Love the flowers. The more colors, the merrier.
Chelsea, have a safe trip our hearts are with you all during this time.
Thank you, Uncle B.❤️
Thank you so much!!! I have the same problem on my tomatoes in the greenhouse. Not all of them but some ... I still have some nettle manure I might try that. Greetings from Germany!
Hey there! Several people mentioned using Epsom salts to raise magnesium levels. I’m going to try that when I get home.
Your garden is really lovely
Im great thanks have a nice weekend xx
I was able to start a new garden spot this year and as I watch many videos was introduced somehow to using Epsom salt. Or maybe I googled it. I really can't remember now why but I had an issue with the new soil bed and Epsom salt was a good helper. I put it around everything early and I really believe it has made a huge success to both my gardens. Never used it before. I also a few years ago discovered adding composted chicken poo pellets just sprinkled around the top dirt really rocks for the plants. I forgot to add that until about four weeks ago, but what a difference now four weeks later. I have had that tomato leaf issue in the past. Never knew what it was. So this is really good information for future. I love the new things popping up in the forest garden, so happy you share all of it. I could stay in there too for hours. Thank you again for another post I know how hard this is with all you have going on but truly appreciated!! And yes we have rain now. What a difference. Everything has perked up. You were the opposite so now you have sun. So nature is something else. Just when we think it will let us down. It switches it seems. hugs.
Several people have mentioned the Epsom salts so I’ll give it a try when I get home.😊❤️
How do you manage all those gardens and family life?! You’re really incredible! ... but seriously, I’d love to know your philosophy on managing all you do. We’re a small homestead with two kids and a BnB and I sometimes think I’m losing my marbles. Have a great trip Chelsea and thanks for making time to share and teach us.
I’d love to do a video on this because you’re not the first person to ask. I thought maybe a day in the life would offer a broader view of what life is like here on an average day. I’ll tell ya one thing, I’d keel over of it weren’t for my afternoon nap!
That's an amazing comparison between the high tunnel and outdoor tomatoes and so glad your mom saved the day/tomatoes! Thank you for sharing, seeing your gardens is so wonderful and calming. I could just sit and watch a video of your gardens for hours, I think. Take care!
Thank you so much! I’m wanting to do a garden, day in the life kind of video set to music. I can see how I want it to feel in my minds eye - now to bring it into reality.
@@LittleMountainRanch Great idea! There used to be a channel on cable that showed different places in the world at sunrise. Most of the time it was a still camera, but one of the times it was someone on a gondola in Venice, floating along the canals, which was amazing. Anyway, it was a pond or a meadow or garden usually. I loved watching those sunrises, but it doesn't have to be a sunrise to be calming and lovely to look at
Yes, for some things Us cool summer people need a greenhouse/high tunnel. I won't try peppers outside either. Got a new greenhouse plan now.
I am researching and experimenting with some quick maturing tomatoes though.
Nice!
I got that one year and it was magnesium deficiency. The best way I found to help is to use liquid fertilizer that has magnesium in it every 10 days or so. Some people do talk about giving some Epsom salts but haven't done that before. Good luck!
Thanks so much!
We spray our tomato and pepper plants with Epsom salt. It's 1 tsp to a quart of hot tap water, to dissolve the salt. Let it get room temperature before using. Spray in the evening or early morning, once a week.
I'm excited. Baby cauliflower just started showing their tiny heads. Never realised how rewarding it feels.
Congratulations!!!
Elderberry flowers have such a Beautiful fragrance!!
Beautiful flowers Chelsey. Really a joy to see.
Forest garden is a delight to see, so much colour and lovely variety. Hope the bush tomatoes start thriving for you. Enjoy a couple of days of rest I hope take care, xxx
Hugs my encouraging friend. I appreciate you so much.
I am growing Manitoba tomatoes from West Coast Seeds. I have had issues from day one with them. They struggled as seedlings while my other nine varieties did not. As mature plants they are not producing very well and the leaves look the same as yours. I also gave some extra seedlings I had left over to my neighbor and she says the same is happening to hers. We are in Calgary zone 3 our plants are outside. Good luck I hope they turn around for you.
have you ever tried to tie up your larger leaves over your head to cauliflower it will keep them Snow White and allow them to grow a little bigger.. Blessings 🥰
I LOVE your flowers! I’m trying to plant more in my garden.
Oh my word! Your forest garden is stunning! Wish I was sitting in it right now. Thanks for sharing your experience with your tomatoes. I'm going to keep a closer eye on mine. They're planted in very dense clay.
Gardens look fantastic! Its hard to believe the difference between where yours is at and where mine is. Hoping to get ahead of the weeds this weekend!
My brocolis and cauliflowers are still growing. The froze on my after my last frost date but they are bouncing back pretty good. Zone 3 gardening eh? ;)
Lol totally, eh?
Hiya Chelsea , I love you forest garden , all these flowers. Our borage is long finished flowering in April. Do you know that you can use the flower heads to make cordial and pancakes? The bush will get much bigger over time and then you could use part of the flowers and part let them be berries. For pancake use just opened flowers with stalks and dip them in not too thin batter and fry them shallow or deep. 😋 Eveline
Mmmmm, I’m going to try that when I get home. Thank you dear friend.
those overalls are so cute!
😊❤️
Absolutely beautiful cowiflower trying it for the first time this year and as always love ur videos
Good for mom! Foliar spray should help a good amount. I wonder if bush tomatoes are more susceptible if their root system are more shallow than say cherry tomatoes. If it continues in further years you might want to graft your fav varieties on to cherry root systems.
My mom was wondering the same thing. Hugs.
Isn’t it great how we can adapt in almost any climate to grow the things we love? I can’t wait to have my own greenhouse. Mostly just for starting seeds. I only have so many grow lights! Lol
It’s so great! 😊
How dare you leave the farm!
I hope it’s an enjoyable trip.
Looks like you discovered the importance of deep rich soils for growing. Add another foot of compost to those greenhouse beds for next years growing. That should help a lot.
That’s the plan! I know, what the heck am I thinking leaving the ranch this time of year. Lol
Hi Chelsea how r u today great video xx
Thanks for the tios
Good luck
found your channel a few weeks ago, i live in fort nelson, are you in the interior ? i been using a product called iron earth, its expensive but worth it,4lb bag can service 45 tomatoe plants . all organic materials , your homestead is great, keep up the good work !
Thanks so much and welcome to my channel. Yes, the northern part of the interior.
Nice cauliflower harvest! I need to start growing that next year.
I’m trying to remember if you can your produce much, or do you just freeze produce?
I can hundreds of jars every year, but not the brassicas. I freeze the cauliflower and broccoli.
could you make a list of flowers in your forest garden when the season is over and you have more time???
Sure!
The garden is beautiful and. Would like to plant one as soon as I find a new place for my homestead
I love Borage they Juste reseed Avery where. The flowers looks gorgeous.
To what temperature can you continue to protect your crops from frost in the high tunnel, before needing supplemental heating?
Under 10C is when I start thinking supplementary heat.
Beautiful! Do you have to tie cauliflower leaves up over the head? Does it hurt it to get the purple in a head?
It doesn’t hurt them at all, but I do usually bend a few leaves over to cover them.
I am getting really bad leaf curl on the tomato plants in one of our raised beds. Any ideas? We are in a little further south from you but possibly higher up. We get nights down to 10C and the day time temps are in the high 25-30C...
It’s just heat stress likely and usually doesn’t impact the fruiting.
Good morning Chelsea from Ireland how r u this morning hope u enjoy ur few days away chat when ur back xx
I’m doing well. Hope you are too!
So do they have food banks in Canada? If so can you go get fresh produce to supplement your loses if they are throwing it away? Just curious?
That's not how food banks work here. They are set up for people who couldn't otherwise afford to buy food.
@@LittleMountainRanch I agree but what do they do with the pershibles? I've watched other channels that instead of putting it in land fills they will ask for it to can, a animal could eat it also. I hate to see good food go into a land fill.
💖
To me it looks more like magnesiusm deficiency, esp. the necrotic dots in the older leaves (see [1] vs [2]). But you can see them closeup, so only you can tell for sure.
Also, if the Gaia is just NPK, it doesn't add Mg (magnesium), nor Fe (iron).
So perhaps just to not be late, while you are fertilizing them, also add in some Epsom salt (Magnesium sulfate)?
Hope it works out for you!

Thank you so much for the links. That’s so helpful to me. I agree and will get on the mag as soon as I’m back home.
@@LittleMountainRanch You're very welcome, Chelsea. Hope all pans out well and you had a safe trip and got home well. Enjoy the harvest season! :-)
That does look like Chlorosis (you did pronounce it correctly). Try this product: www.espoma.com/product/iron-tone/
Thank you so much!
I’m not sure but I don’t think it’s available in Canada. At least not it my area.
Your issue with tomatoes reminded me of video I watched recently, ruclips.net/video/QALxEt6OFpc/видео.html
Do you need a worker? I desperately need a job I have ten years of experience in agriculture and dairy farming
I’m sorry but we’re just a small family farm and don’t have outside workers. Best of luck finding something.
