I think newer players will be confused why he builds things like resto shot, monster rounds, and extra regen/extra health, but when you get into higher mmr lobbies against better players, you realize everyone is buying these items and they make your laning phase 10 times better…especially as Infernus. Laning as infernus without at least 2 of those 500 items feels so terrible against decent players
@@ktanilaeh thanks for bringing this up! To add to this, in higher mmr you don’t fight as much in lane, it’s more farm focused so all you want to find in your build is just sustain while getting the most value for your money - in this case Resto Shot gives bullet resist and weapon damage as well, and Monster Rounds lets us kill creeps faster = more time to poke etc
You’re right. I tend to just copy builds from pros not knowing why take these items specifically. Explanations from someone knowledgeable with the meta really does help beginners and decent players.
I feel like a lot of lower MMR player are refusing to recognize vitality slot. I see a lot of players with T3/4 weapon and spirit items, with only boots and T1 on vitality slot lol.
This is just not true, you need these items not because you fight less, but because the pressure put on you by the opponents is much higher. Players will not let you farm freely and dive instantly, if you are too low hp. In low elo you can just handshake farm and need sustain less, people dont pressure properly. Also monster rounds early is especially useful for its dr, not just pushing faster@@Noizeeh
Amazing commentary, there's not enough content like this for deadlock right now. Would love more overview commentary just like this for the other heros
Really great commentary on this and I enjoyed hearing some different perspectives on routes! I will have to change picking up SSB and duration before Toxic. Seemed very strong. One thing I noticed that I don’t think was called out about the use of flame dash is that they reload right before starting it to have a full mag after the ability finishes. This is a nice trick to use on a number of characters where you can start a reload and then use a channeled ability to have the reload finish during the ability usage.
Appreciate the feedback a lot! Fun fact, you can reload after you flame dash with infernus, you don't see the red reload circle but you see his hand do the reload animation and you come out of the flame dash fully reloaded haha
at 12:00 im pretty sure the audio glitch from my experience happens uz silence glyph gets stuck into edge of a wall and never actually goes onto enemy until they return to that spot whenever i play shiv and buy decay theres audio bug iget too where if enemy just fast runs out/ziplines i hear the decay flying sound till rest of game/reset game
Good vid. I stopped buying duration extender because until you get the improved version it doesn’t extend the burn duration long enough to give you an extra tick of damage on afterburn or toxic bullets. For 1250 souls something like slowing hex or even improved cooldown for his other abilities will get you more value. Though I still get superior duration late game because by then you get an extra tick of damage on all your ricochet burn victims so it does add up.
@@kcarlsson89 I was wrong, it does increase by 1 tick, i swore i tested this once before. Though I'm still not buying it early. Slowing hex as an example slows them allowing you to shoot longer and adds 78 instant spirit damage, leading to total of 289 damage well above the 228 you get from duration extender. Until you get more spirit power and buy toxic bullets , I'm standing by that it's not worth the opportunity cost.
@@reinofkaos I don't think you can think in full ticks because I think it does a "mini tick" in the end to compensate for this. If you shoot the target dummy with only Duration Extender you can see that in the end it does kind of a double tick where the last one just does a little damage.
Really good advice to buy more defensive leaning items for the first 3 buys. Resto shot giving bonus weapon damage AND bullet resist sounds like a MUST have against haze
@@QastletheKing 500 items are extremely valuable and you just have to try to match it to whatever you need in lane, no shame in buying regen as you can sell it for 250 later, not a big investment 😁
@@Noizeeh I hear that, I’ve found myself buying healing rite to use it once, and replace it with regen moments after. After a big trade, having an HP lead is usually a free kill. Much better than going back and losing CS! Thanks for the vids high quality stuff mate

Could you explain why he doesn't go for Leech? To me it felt like an absolute must buy especially for late game so you can just outheal enemies even at a disadvantage.
havent seen the video yet, but basicly if opponent already has a lot of anti heal or fights are over quickly, armors or inhibitor is more defencive value
@@viberance Leech is very bad this patch as it has diminishing returns, they made it so lifesteal is multiplicative instead of additive which means that it doesn’t stack well. Soul Shredder bullets - Enduring Spirir - Infuser etc is plenty of healing already
It's really not worth building for the value you get, they need to burn for a long time for escalating to give you any form of value, you're better off investing that 6200 into something else
@@CloudKXII it really depends on the game and what the enemy team looks like, also it’s entirely playstyle dependant - in this case we take Rico after Toxic bullets as our team comp allows us more opportunities to AOE and spread our burn and we are able to farm much faster which leads to us hitting earlier powerspikes
Much prefer ricochet as well before SO leads to better lane clear and farming while moving in between fights, lets me follow up with SO shortly after buying it
@@Noizeeh speaking of value, even with the multiplicative scaling of lifesteal now, if you sell spirit lifesteal/dont have any lifesteal items, isn't 35% of both bullet and spirit lifesteal really really worth it? or am I confused on calculations lol also im binging your videos now, those mirage videos were fantastic.
@@MentalsProductions the problem is that we already buy so much lifesteal in his kit, we get Enduring spirit (500), Soul Shredder bullets (1250), Infuser (500) and maybe later spirit lifesteal, so buying Leech instead of Spirit lifesteal still won’t yield much, a healing booster might have more value in this case which is 1250

Lvl 3 afterburn:
- no items: 180 dmg
- duration extender: 228 dmg
- superior duration, imbued: 280 dmg
Toxic bullets (on target dummy):
