🇺🇦 Колегіальний костел Святої Трійці в Олиці
    Construction period: 1635 - 1640.
Founder: Lithuanian Grand Chancellor Stanislaw Albrycht Radziwill.
    Historical note:
The most magnificent basilica temple in Volhynia (currently in Ukraine) with ambitious ideological undertones, this church owes its origins to Albrycht Stanislaw Radziwill who was born in Olyka.
The head of the church construction was Reinhold Beffka while the architect was Giovanni Maliverna with consultations from Benedetto Molli. A three-aisled basilica with slender proportions with a facade flanked by small turrets set on the attic, had a rich interior.
There was a collegium and a seminary at the site of the church.
After WW2 and the annexation by the Soviet Union of almost half of Poland's pre-war territory, the collegiate church was closed and it gradually fell into disrepair. The temple was turned into a stable for the local 𝘬𝘰𝘭𝘬𝘩𝘰𝘻. The interior has been irretrievably damaged.
In 1991 the church was handed over to the Roman Catholic parish belonging to the Lutsk diocese.
Since 2013, comprehensive refurbishment and conservation works have been carried out on the collegiate church coordinated by Poland's Cultural Heritage Foundation, financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, the Polish Senate, the National Institute of Polish Cultural Heritage Abroad Polonika and sponsorship donations.
Video presents the church during renovation works in 2018, conducted by Polish Cultural Heritage Foundation and financed from state funds of Poland.
The “PL-UA. History by drone” project consists of 100 short film productions depicting architectural monuments that were created in the period of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The series of short documentary films were screened in Ukraine. A Polish-Ukrainian team consisting of historians, journalists, writers, non-governmental organisations and youth joined forces to create the films. Project was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
