    Congratulations on your move and career change. I know you said you’re worried people won’t support you now that you’ve changed. From the outside looking in, it doesn’t feel like you’ve changed into a different person but rather become more of the person you’ve always been, like a flower blooming. I feel really inspired seeing you follow your dreams, and I’m more excited than ever to watch your future videos! :)

    Congratulations ana ❤ you are really one of the best youtubers I've seen here and for you to be so honest and so direct about your career change is really a testament for your immense courage and confidence. I'm very happy for you . However i was wondering if there are any psychology channels that produce a similar type of content to yours ? Like some channels you're a fan of /like or follow. Thanks for reading

    The more I learn about the human brain, the happier I am to hear you are turning towards following your true passion and writing stories! I think it’s super reassuring to know how much you know the human psyche and using all of that to come up with great stories :) honestly those stories might help even more people in similar ways as in-office therapy sessions would’ve 🤍 glad you and your channels exist! :)

    I myself love books and hope to become a writer one day despite working towards a career in a very different industry but that is life! People are multifaceted and I enjoy both your psychology content and your cosy bookish, writerly videos just as much.

    This is so cool!! I love authentic Ana! I started watching you in 2020 because I love psychology, but I kept watching you bc of your authenticity and relentless effort to make your dream life! I’m a few years younger than you, so it’s inspiring to see another woman achieve, speak her mind, and remain to true to herself. I'm a big fan of your psychology content, and I've gotten a lot of value out of those videos. I think your ikigai/"how to pick a career" video makes a lot more sense now 🙂. I think not having the pressure to put out a video twice a week, even when you don't have something that you really want to say right then, will help make the videos that you do put out even more successful (I hope so at least!).
    You're doing a very brave thing with this transition, but also this totally makes sense. You've made a lot of content about increasing your internal locus of control, identifying your values, and creating a life that comports with those values. IMO this is you walking the walk. You're architecting a life that allows you to practice your values and wholeheartedly follow your passion. Congratulations to you, and huge props to your partner and the rest of your support network for supporting such a big change. I'm rooting for you!

    I double-majored in psychology and sociology in undergrad. I had less than a year to go before I realized my interest was my own curiosity, not because I wanted to see patients. I pivoted and instead switched my major to something I really loved -- classics, which I later taught for a bit, and added a degree in English lit. I'm not a professional classicist, but I keep up with the field far more than the pros I know; they're so locked into publishing and tenure that they've lost their zeal for the discipline. I've also been writing for my own enjoyment for almost two decades. I have no plans to publish, but I'm never happier - or more frustrated! - than when writing. I'm so pleased by how clearly happy you are to be writing and wish you all the success. I subbed to your psych channel because I enjoy how you explain things, and I'm sure I'll love your writing for the same reason (The Curse in Their Veins is sitting in my never-ending TBR pile), so I'm here for the long haul. Congratulations on making choices and taking chances!

    So inspired by you to see you following your dreams. I hope the transition of moving to Europe is going well. Would love a video on how you’re handling such a big life transition! And I feel it goes without saying but your true supporters do not hold expectations over you such as you must be a client facing psychologist or ANYTHING other than what you want to be professionally. If you chose to stop making videos altogether I would be sad to see your content go of course, but happy for you in any decision you make that puts yourself first. You inspire us because of your relentless drive to live a life that makes YOU happy, not one that only makes others happy. Cheers to you!

    Honestly, I discovered your content and you few years ago and it’s one of the reasons why I started studying psychology myself. Maybe I’ll change my career too, we can’t know that now. But your content helped me a lot to grow, to be more self aware and to live for myself instead of others. The career that I chose is influenced by you ofc, but now it feels for me like it was the obvious choice. So I’m really grateful for that, thank you ! And I wanted to say that now that you studied psychology, even if you change your career I firmly believe that I’ll keep following you and watch every video you’ll make because you have the knowledge necessary imo to teach us something new. I always loved your content because, like you said it’s psychology applied in real life and at my school we lack these real life applications. Finally, I love your mindset of growth, discovering yourself, building connections with people and basically wanting to live a healthy and mindful life. It’s very encouraging especially for people that didn’t grow in a healthy family for example… Now congratulations on your career change ! Because I know that such a decision to follow your heart can be hard even if it’s the right choice for you, some people can judge that and even try to change your mind about it so it take strength and determination to do that ! Btw your books sounds so interesting even if reading is kinda hard for me and my attention span, you made me wanna read them all haha !

    This video is so inspiring! I am so jealous of you moving to Europe and pursuing your creative path full time. (But in the good way, as in, jealousy pointing me toward an unmet desire I have within myself). I am truly happy for you! I get so excited when people make their way toward a more aligned life. It reminds me of the quote, “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” So by you pursuing what makes you come alive, I believe that it has a positive ripple effect on everything and everyone around you. Your books sound really intriguing! I don’t do well with anything in the horror/psychological thriller genre, but I will try to read some of your books anyway to support. Maybe if I read them in the morning, so I can still sleep at night. 😅
    I know that the path I am currently on is not my true, soul path. I tell myself I can pursue my creative endeavors on nights and weekends, but I rarely have any energy left for them. Hearing stories like yours always makes me think about if there is another way. Congrats on your big changes! I am excited to follow your journey here! 🫶🏻

    Do you have any tips on leading a life that feels truly alined with yourself? I admire people who have the courage to make a change in the "right" direction, just as you did with your move to Europe. I am currently a M.A. student in the city, but I feel such a longing for nature, I'd love to live in a more rural area (because that's the way I grew up). But I fear the unknown, to make the "wrong" decision.

    • @BookandHearth
      @BookandHearth  4 месяца назад +5

      Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you know what feels aligned with you, it's just a matter of realistically implementing it? Maybe there are smaller ways to live in a rural area, like living somewhere right outside of town that has a small town feel?
      For me it feels like a continuous process, a back-and-forth dance of taking two steps toward a more values-aligned life, then getting scared and taking a step back, until eventually I reach a threshold where I come to terms with what I need to do in order to pursue my values.

    Something she said is that she always wanted her books to be for mass consumption, like the kind of book that appears at every airport. I found that to be interesting because her subject matter seems niche
