I bought one of these from a silent key sale at Newark Hamfest a week ago. It had been sitting unused for a while so needed a bit of switch cleaner but now seems pretty OK. Many thanks for your video, I hadn't got around to using some of the features but your explanation of things like the memories and how to get the UK/EC channels are a lot clearer than those in the instructions! Not made any contacts yet but that's mostly because I went down with Covid on Monday before I sorted out an antenna; though I've been listening around with my end fed half wave and heard a few people it's not a good match and is also horizontal! I'll have a bit more of a look for other cb stuff on your channel, all the best, Simon.
Got this radio recently. Price was affordable. I was glad I bought it after this video. Very nice little radio. Solid well built and easy to use. Channel change on the left unusually. Good inexpensive radio.
I have the tti 660 and done a mod that allows the radio to be wide banded. The mod is moving a very tiny surface mount resistor from one spot to the other. Opens up 4 bands RU, RE, PL, PX.
Thank you, for your video. To show it. I ordered my TCB-880 for 22,50 pounds. used, but well, and all functions works. It has all, what I want. (And Everybody would want to have) And is legal in Europe. Greetings from Germany.
It sounds like you got a great buy for the price! It's a long time since I recorded that review of the TCB-880 but many people still like this radio. Happy CB DX! :)
@@Transmission1 I agree this. - And I think, you will get happy. To get response about your video, so long ago. I think: The level and the laws of CB Radio hasn´t change. So why a new one, but with the same performance ?
A really good transciever. I know somebody who has one and I'll be buying mine imminently. I agree with you on keypad beep/bleeps. I detest them and it's always the first menu setting I look for. All manufacturers of anything with a keypad....set the default to off ;-) Changing band is very easy, as it is with many modern radios, but I wish there was just a button marked "band". It'd be nice to be able to change bands with a button press to make listening to other bands even easier.
This video is years old 😂😂 but it is the best review I have found about this radio, Just in case anyone does see my post can anyone recommend a good external S Meter for the rear socket ?
From what I remember it was a good radio but the blue was pretty intense and no other options. I published this review 10 years ago - I can't believe that people are still watching it! ;)
what frequencys does Europe run on here in the us we run from 26.965 -27.405 maybe we can shot skip some times usually our ssb channels that is constantly talk on runs down by 10mg like 17405 ssb down to 27.355 maybe we could shot skip sometimes
Używam tego radyjka z anteną Presiden i NIE POLECAM GO. Pozdrawiam

Had this unit for a few months now, excellent quality, easy to use and sounds great. Use it with a Sirio Megawatt 4000 and mag mount.

Good radio, but the blue backlighting was sore on the eyes, after a time... I ended up selling mine.
