  • Let's play a game of Skyrim -- Chapter 1, Mission 1, to learn more about how the game is played, and simply to enjoy playing. Skyrim is a very fun adaptation of the computer-version by the same title. It is amazingly effective at immersing you into the "Skyrim vibe", even though some systems are simplified from the computer game (a very good choice). The game effectively focuses on what makes Skyrim a first class fantasy sand box for players to dive into.

The Bear is a BEAR, especially for O level characters in light armor with a dagger. Maybe could have used your spark spell, but still very iffy.

My take on strongholds being closed is similar to yours. Since they specify a difference between closing the market and closing the stronghold, I ruled that if the market is closed you can still walk through and perform quests, you just can't buy things or craft or enchant. If the stronghold is closed you can't do anything except pay to reopen it. I swear I've seen some errata on this, but I can't remember it clearly.

Hi again. Well it’s a fantasy game after all, so who is to say what “right” is? Good to hear I am not the only one tripping over these issues! - Paul

@@theoakenknight1748Well sure, but I like to feel like I didn't just win because I got the rules wrong :). I at least give it a good effort.

Slightly off topic. Just backed the Chip Theory Game for a not insignificant amount of money. Hope it delivers half the spirit of adventure that this game does. This one truly feels like the video game, letting you explore across the map , following quests, upgrading your character, finding treasures, etc. Except for the shoddy rule book, well worth the money.

I have played the first scenario a couple of times. The first time I was sure I made a ton of mistakes. The second time, I got my cheese melted in the final battle. I don't want to keep playing it over and over, but I definitely want to play it through and win if I can. I think the key is getting a good combat build put together for that last battle. In my case I was playing a single character the last time and didn't have a strong companion. It's a tough fight regardless. Although it's probably a little different in different playthroughs.

Hi Marc. I also think the equipment you find makes a huge difference, and enhancements matter a lot too. That’s why I usually go for enchantments, smithing, and speech. My Altmer is particularly good at enchantments, and you will see in the next video that he got a real good one…, but he draws 3 cards each time he enchants something. Most people have no idea what they were lol be when they grow up, and Skyrim is like that. And it’s different each time I play! - Paul
