    Thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge. Out there there is water filter sold with 40 microns stainless steel mesh. I wonder what kind of dirts being filtered with 40 microns.

    Hi there, what country is the 1/8" mesh manufactured in?

    Does anyone have any suggestions for which gauge would be best for pc dust filters. (The ideal is minimal airflow obstruction with maximal dust capture). Any input appreciated. Thanks.

    why not mention how big is the hole? that is the most important for mesh.

    Which mesh is best for acrylic paint?

    • @graydonblair3928
      @graydonblair3928 4 года назад

      It can vary on which is best for your setup. I've had some customers from paint shops use 74 micron, 43 micron, and one even used 15 micron (although I think that's crazy tight for paint to go through). Most common though is 74 micron.

    which of the small "cloth like" meshes is the strongest?

      @utahbiodieselsupply 6 лет назад +1

      I'd say the 100 or the 74 micron is the strongest of the cloth like ones. 43 is petty strong too, but 100 & 74 are pretty tough.

    500 Micron screen is a lot bigger then a coffee filter paper mesh?

    • @graydonblair3928
      @graydonblair3928 7 лет назад +1

      Oh yeah! Definitely! Coffee Filter Mesh is somewhere around 50 to 100 micron. I've never been able to find a manufacturer that can tell me specifically what size it is, but based on comparing it to my stainless that's about what it seems to be. Some can seem even smaller though.
      If you're doing cold brew coffee though, we recommend using 74 micron stainless. We have a few customers that use 100, but the majority of them use 74. 74 will act like a 40 nominal micron filter.
      Also, here's a link that'll help show the differences. As you look at the penny, look at the L in the word LIBERTY as your gauge comparing it to the hole size in the mesh.

      Yes Yes Thank you soo much yes i was on your website i learn alot... and i was just using the coffee Filer for a project of my i been using it for the pass 3 week i was not getting the results that i wanted. Then the guy told me i must be using a 500 screen filer to get the results that i need... Soo now i understand i was using 74 micron that no good... I need a 500 micron mesh screen.

      @@TheFlyre you don't understand because "500 microns" is different from "500 mesh" size
      larger the micron number = larger the holes size measured in microns (the term micron is actually a commonly used shorthand for micrometer )
      large the mesh size = smaller the holes size ( mesh size is calculated by the number of the holes in an inch of mesh , so the smaller is the woven holes the bigger is the number of holes)

    Do you have sheets larger than 12"x12"?

    • @graydonblair3928
      @graydonblair3928 3 года назад +1

      Yes. Our mesh is on 48" wide rolls. We cut them in 12" increments (so 12, 24, 36, 48" wide) by any length you'd like, as long as it's an increment of 12". Shoot an email our way with what you'd be interested in info at utahbio dot com and I'd be happy to quote you up.
