- Today, it feels like you can’t open RUclips or open a magazine without hearing about yet another restomodded Porsche 911, so it takes something really special to attract our attention, and to get Chris Harris embracing a new and arguably more stylish persona just to get behind the wheel.
That’s where Tuthill’s latest creation, the RSK, comes in. Based on a 993-generation 911 RS, it has been fully restored from bare metal, is finished in the wonderful Ferrari colour of Verde Francesca, and most importantly, is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six with four-valve heads derived from those fitted to the ballistic, 11,000rpm Tuthill 911K.
The result is a sub-1,200kg stunner with an 8,000rpm redline, which is reported to have a better power-to-weight ratio than the current 992-generation 911 GT3, while remaining surprisingly approachable thanks to its billet callipers with carbon-ceramic brakes, Tuthill’s adjustable dampers, and an advanced electric power steering system.
As Collecting Cars tradition dictates, Chris puts the RSK through its paces on a slightly damp circuit, before exploring its capabilities on the road, and entering the parallel dimension of ‘Crankshaft 1996’. Will this be ‘just’ another mega-bucks 911 with a few modern touches, or has Tuthill pulled it out of the bag yet again? Watch the film to find out.

I lost the VHS of this years ago, glad to see one survived and better quality than the over watched version I had. Thanks for posting.
My older brother overrecorded adult film on this VHS. Oh boy, I cried the whole weekend when I found out.
I had a copy of this but my dad taped over it with half an episode of Red Dwarf and The Terminator. 😢
@@JeremiBulakowski This is the ‘adult film’ 😂 - look at his hair and moustache 😂
@@ukwanSmeg!
Our pleasure 😉
The Senna signature loafers and white socks are a nice touch!
As a Porsche presentation I would say Stephan Rozer driving the "Yellow bird" CTR1 Ruf in 1987 at the Nürburgring...
saw that
Standard attire from now on...
Good catch 👍
@@collectingcars it better be!
Stefan Roser in the Ruf Yellowbird at Nurb', Ayrton Senna in an NSX at Suzuka, and now Chris Harris. All proving time and time again that the loafer is the ultimate driving shoe.
Uh I love this format. And I look forward to the GTI and Fiat Coupe video!
Gti 6 is a sensational car. 👌🏻 miss mine
We need to lock those in!
@@collectingcars Same setup please!
I would love to see you try out the worlds fastest front wheel drive car in the day
the editing transitions were a real treat, the hair, the stance. Very nineties indeed, thanks for catapulting me back.
Another gem. If Collecting Cars doesn’t become the de facto space for the best automotive journalism, I will lose all faith in humanity.
You HAD faith in it?
You forget to mention EVO magazine wich is still the top tier in automotive journalism....
Hagerty
It's just wherever Chris is. Like the old Chris Harris with cars youtube that's defunct
Journalism? Most of the videos Harris does these days are just ads for the cars he's selling on his website. A "review" isn't journalism. Don't get me wrong - they're great, but they're ads. This video, while great, is an ad for his mate Richard Tuthill.
Love the hair and love the Woollarding. Exceptional film as always
Excellent Woollarding. There's not enough Woollarding these days
I think Smith & Sniff need to made aware of this exemplary Woolarding in this video 😂
@@tantive4 Woollarding 🤣🤣 Thanks for making me laff like f*ck.
I wholeheartedly concur with both comments.🫡
Find another
@@OllieHeathcote he knows what he’s got!
Quentin Harris with some excellent consumer advice there
Exquisite example of Woollarding there, Mr Harris!
Basically in Nottingham.
@@DandyDanDanDanDan I hadn't thought about that on that side of things!
Disappointed there was no Clarkson style flashes of the headlights in the tracking shots!
Nice touch with the 4:3 aspect ratio 👌Really fun homage to automotive journalism of yore.
The loafers 👌
Stefan Roser in the Ruf Yellowbird at Nurb', Ayrton Senna in an NSX at Suzuka, and now Chris Harris. All proving time and time again that the loafer is the ultimate driving shoe.
Jonny Smith and Richard Porter would be so very proud.
they'd like the very special brown suede DMs in particular
Love the way the intro was done. And Chris is brilliant as always.
Quality woolarding
On that side of things.
Eagle Quest
To hear the immediacy of the throttle response. Simply stunning.
You need Phillip (& his laugh) as a special guest on the podcast!
We really do!
The full Woollard. Excellent work Chris.
Didn’t this come on a VHS tape with Car and Driver in August ‘96? It received the Basic Instinct treatment and was worn out from constant rewinding/playing that moment. Sharon Stones snatch and a 8k 2nd-3rd gear change. Perfection on both c(o)unts.
Just tremendous. Thank you
Shades of 90's Tiff, nice to see a sorted 993 driven properly
Brilliant just brilliant !!!!!
Thanks Chris.
@5.30am....a great way to start the day👍🇦🇺
This is amazing
absolutely ace. i laughed so hard, even though, damn... the car is no laughing matter. glad you had fun with this chris, it's a keeper!
Stunning machine. Had the opportunity to see it up close. ❤
My new favorite Chris Harris/Collecting Cars vid. Totally rad!
Awesome production, solid informational with entertainment and enthusiasm and Mr Harris doing his dance with the right footwear. Thank you Crankshaft '96. I really thought that drift was going to go thru that puddle of water...
So so good . Best review so far
Missed this when it first hit the tube. Bloody awesome (as always)…Harris at his best, and novel new style hat too…
That was, in a word, surreal.
I pressed the like button 1:20min into the video! Keep this reviews coming!!
if you donßt like Chris´videos before watching, then what are you even doing with your life?
Oh how I love these retro VHS rips, had forgotten how fantastic hair mr Harris had in the nineties. Groovy baby!
Stunning 🔥 very special
I have loved your videos ever since I got my first real sports car. I have owned BMW's, Porsche's and many other sports cars. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you for all that you do!
Great format, Chris is the best !
Brilliant and accurate.
Stunning creation
This is a brilliant intro great as always !
Perfection on so many levels…congrats
I'm happy I seen the short of this video and came here!!!
Great job. No more useless shorts!!!🎉🎉🎉
Brilliant video!
Curborough is probably the slippiest place to drive in the wet! Well done for keeping on the tarmac!
I love this so much
Top Woolarding Chris, magnificent!
loving the 90s effects
How the crew managed to complete this video and how Chris kept a straight face for over 30 seconds, deserves a standing ovation 👏👏👏
Mmmmm, this is type of driving we want from Chris!
The reporting style is fun, reminds me a lot of old Top Gear
Reporting that his friend can build it?
Good bit of Woollarding Chris 👌
Loved the editing
Excellent Wollarding
Everyone loves some good old nostalgia!
Entertaining, Informative, and Visually exciting 🙃
Fantastic 💥🏆 Lov 993s

Top Woollarding there Harris, with Ruf spec white sock action to really nail the crossover
Close your eyes and it's William Woollard! Brilliant review, as ever.
sTiff Needel reportage 😎
My word that sounds good
you are the man @chrisharris!
I remember watching this video when it first came out.
Awesome production guys!!! Really well done... As usual . This episode felt like I was in the twilight zone, if it wasn't for Chris and his beard, I thought it was the 80's😅
Some strong Woollarding there!
Just when I tought “oh, another Porsche restomod video”
This thing is the Boll**ks had me laughing out loud, what a brilliant video 😂
Genuinely exceptional piece of film! Well done - you’ve upped the game again. Can’t wait for the yellow Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo video ;)
Nice Woolarding!!
Bravo! 👏🏼 The white socks and loafers combo 😆 And actually, Mr Harris really does suit that hairpiece 🤭 Thanks for making the video 👍🏼
993 and 997 are the prettiest 911s imo 🙂
What a machine.
Absolutely nailed it 😂
amazing!🎉
I need that car and that wig! Great video.
Nice bit of Woolard-ing
A lovely bit of woolarding there
Welcome back, Tiff
Oh Chris, such a good job you can drive, because . . . . . . you can't act, not even tongue in cheek !! What a car though!!
Lovely shoes ❤
It's rather nice, isn't it?
Good to know where my eurojackpot money is going, I suppose!
The production value on this is off the charts, love it. Can't wait for the Peugeot episode!
Art.
Great to see our key!
Chris, the work you did on the script and internation, is just perfect for Top Gear before….. er…. Top Gear
haha this was great!
You're making Senna proud!!!
I've heard rumours the new 996 will be a beauty
The brutal reality of superior British motor journalism coupled with the inferior British weather.
Brilliant Chris 😂👌
Ruf, Kremer, DP Motorsport, Rinspeed, Koenig Specials, Strosek, Gemballa, Techart, 9ff, Manthey, RWB, Singer, Gunther Werks, Sharkwerks...
You definitely belong to the 911 Masters club, Tuthill. Well deserved.
We are now looking forward to learn more about those Theon's.
You mean Teutons?
Theon Design I was referring to.
@@PetarMilosevic14 Ah. Fair enough.
Roock
Don't forget E Motion. Joey Seeley builds some amazing 911's.
Vintage CH - and a perfect parody of TG! Brill. ❤
Curborough 😍
Just starting to get out of breath around a slippery Curborough - respect!
Top Woollarding.
Nice merkin !
4:57 We all know about the absolutely incredible Tuthill creations... but please lets not overlook that amazing hair!!!
Great video. On another note the weather is absolute shite in the UK
Tuthill, Singer etc should do a sideline in tv presenters, reimagined.
Proper Woolarding, in Marino's wig. 😂
Phenomenal
Chris is a class act 🤣🤣🤣
Great car 😎😎😎👍👍👍
