      I think the Patriots may trade down at #3 with the Vikings at #11 & #23. They need help at multiple positions. They could draft a QB with either of those picks.

      Trade down with MN, then trade back up from 11 to Atlanta at 8 and snag Rome Odounze, go RT at 23. Hopefully it only costs us our 4th rounder, maybe a 7th thrown in. Trade down from 37 to midway in the 2nd, pick sainristil

    How can you pass on MH or Malik Nabors and look Justin Herbert in the eye the next day? Stabbing him in the back to start your new era would be a bad move. DO RIGHT BY JUSTIN, CHARGERS! Everything else will get sorted out.

      Because there are tons of receivers available in the draft and through trade or free agency every year lol. Also not how harbaugh wins games.

    • @nsn5564
      @nsn5564 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Culby2323 Yes, there are tons of receivers in the draft. Also, on the Chargers roster: QJ, Josh Palmer, Darius Davis, among others. Are the ones we pick up in Rnds 2-7 going to be better than QJ (1st round), Palmer (3rd round)? We already have plenty of average to mediocre receivers. Looking at the draft and believing all those players are amazing is typical fool's gold.

    • @nsn5564
      @nsn5564 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Culby2323 Is there some magic alternative to passing the ball that Harbaugh wins games by? Was Kapernick throwing to himself? Was it only the RB who played (and if so, let me tell you NFL defenses have advanced quite a bit in the decade Harbaugh was out)? I think too much is being made of "running the ball" - they kept saying "imagine Justin Herbert with a run game" - which means presumably an efficient Justin Herbert actually throwing to someone new, because everybody who could catch has left.

    I’m team trade down. However, I was pleased with the stick and pick scenario outcome. Still had several year one contributors. Either way I’m excited about opportunities this draft and remaining FA hold for the 24 season ⚡️🆙

    I am no longer on the move-down bandwagon. Get quality, can't-miss prospects. Looking at NFL draft history as a whole, it is just unlikely they all work out, and are as successful as predicted. Just look at all the hype for so many players which didn't pan out, QJ included.

  • @aaronshoup

    Trade down. I know a lot of people love the WR's, but we had great WR's and didn't win, last year we had 5 wins. Receivers don't win games, running game, playing tough defense and protecting Herbert does. OL DL and Corner have to be top priorities with a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round, there will be free agents, udfa, and trades available to fill out receivers.

  • @brockbrandon3624

    Can someone explain why drafting a WR at 5 makes sense with the coaching history of Harbaugh and Roman. It just feels this WR would end up underwhelming by no fault of his own but because of usage. Not arguing against getting a WR, just doesn't make sense at 5 for me.

  • @Culby2323
    @Culby2323 6 месяцев назад

    I would put the likelihood of a receiver being picked at 5 at about .1%. If they stay there of course.

    It is a great pod. Thank you.
    No trade case: Very good draft overall. I think that other than Hall and McCaffrey, the rest are great picks. Two comments: Michael Hall Jr can be a liability in the run game (Tillery vibes). So maybe Carter from Duke is a better option. Every defense depends on the interior to stop the run first and provide rush second. Since we all like pressures and sacks, we tend to forget A and jump to B. As for McCaffrey, it's my painful experience that the Chargers usually have the wrong brother (e.g., from the Bosa & Watt families).
    Trade down: Wright at 69 is great. Yet, I think I'd go in a totally different direction. Since Arnold is not Sauce/Ramsey, Fuaga can really help the Roman scheme because Pipkins is not a ppl mover. And then Murphy/Newton/DeJean/Quinton at 23 (but not Wiggins who can be a liability against the run). My reason is that the combination of Fuaga at 11, Coleman/Wilson/Leggett/McConkey at 37, and Ray Davis at 105 can improve the offense more than Mitchell at 23, Wright at 69 and Limmer at 105. Wright behind Pipkins is not like Davis behind Fuaga even though Wright is possibly a better RB. Finally, I think that Fiske at 37 is a reach.

  • @MD-gr9vi

    I just can't see this coaching staff taking AD Mitchell, given how many plays he takes off and the total lack of even trying to block in the run game.

      I had actually wondered privately if Fuaga could be the pick at 5 . Bucky Brooks actually threw that out there today / yesyerday and now I'm looking at it as a possibility. He did also say if he had to bet his paycheck, that he would bet the Chargers are picking offensive line in the first. I do think they will trade back, and that's what the interviews of Latu and Murphy etc are for- if they get an extra first round pick.

      Terrible idea. Who is Herbert going to throw the ball to? Just because you take a WR at 11/23 doesn’t mean they will be a WR1. They’re hard to come by. Nabers and MHJ if available are pretty much sure things imo.
