The situation is incomparable ! First, Dutch is an Indoeuropean language much closer to English than Abdul's mothertongue Arabic ! Secondly, Abdul never had the chance to travel outside the Gaza Ghetto but learnt basic English in a cultural center (between two Israeli bombings) and by listening to music.

This is both heartbreaking and incredible at the same time. No 12 year old should have to experience this much ❤
What makes this kid extra amazing & authentic is that he’s overseas. So many of his lyrics are metaphorical, they’re literal. A world hip hop hasn’t really heard of before. Being that fluent in American English without sounding like he’s trying to hide or put on an accent at his age is extremely impressive. Would really love to hear his progression as an artist as he becomes even more experienced.
