20 JUN 2023 UPDATE: Today, as I'm writing this post, Anthony has officially came back to Smosh, now as an independent channel! After 6 years, the comeback actually happened. :)
I wonder how they will grow now, so far 200k Subs JUST TODAY ALREADY IN 5 HOURS

As of right now, 20 hours after the announcement of Smosh’s purchase, Smosh sits at 25.4M subscribers. This is a gain of at least 350,000 subscribers in the last 24 hours.
Smosh went from 25-25.1M subscribers to 25.5M subscribers just in 1-2 days!
And on June 20, they gained 300K.
This makes it Smosh’s biggest growth in the history of their channel.

I wonder why there was a massive algorithm boost for a lot of channels in 2013.
Change in the layout of the subs.
Maybe it’s because RUclips began to favour channels on subscribers and since Smosh was in 3rd place and nigahiga and RayWilliamJohnson were suffering from low growth, Smosh blew up.
Late 2012 to mid 2013 were peaked Smosh

Anthony left, they added to the crew/cast, their parent company went bankrupt, Good Mythical Morning bought them and they've since added and removed cast and crew (hired different writers too) Things change over time.

Smosh & Pewdiepie have different style in creating a content. Smosh make a sketch. Pewdiepie was Vlog and also make a gaming content video (eventhough Smosh & Pewds ever made a collaboration back then). I would say '4PlayerPodcast' channel was the 2000s Pewdiepie/Markiplier. Not only started to blew up on RUclips but also came throughout JustinTV stream and pretty popular for streaming and uploading horror game content.
