I experienced almost the same phenomena...I fell asleep asking a question to myself "what is death?" moments later I was out of my body and feeling energy of love around me. I kept repeating the words "power" "love" because it was surrounding me. I was able to travel and did so into the living room. I then became nervous and was able to go back into my body.
“Vistas of Infinity” changed the direction of my life. I found a link to that book in some comments section and ablog post somewhere, found it on Amazon, purchased, and devoured multiple times. Always the first book I recommend to people who want a head start when the 💩hits the fan and ya don’t wanna end up in a self-imposed purgatory based on old belief systems. Some of the best advice I’ve ever received was to keep my belief systems flexible because they will always be in flux. That is the nature of true reality. It is influenced by the thoughts and expectations of all living creatures and objects surrounding the material world.
The universe appears to be infinitely cluttered (with "past" "present" and "future" "realities) meshed with each other, and yet everything harmoniously, perfectly working with everything else. Was just thinking about Indra's Net---and in the next second Renate mentioned it!

As someone who has come from and abandoned limited western religious teachings and then looked almost exclusively to the East it is welcome realization that Gods heavens as spoken of more in the middle eastern traditions do exist even if they are just manifestations of states consciousness. What a helpful integration of East and West spiritual teachings.
Yes it is very rare. Im skeptical with so many obe accounts. Especially the schools that teach it. The spirit was not meant to leave the body while alive. For a few genuine accounts I know of it is usually a one time thing early in life. The chances decrease as you get older. I have tried for 30 years with every method available.

When Jurgen spoke of people driving taxi's and being waiters not knowing they were 'dead' made me look at my own life, am I already dead? Of coarse I am, and there are infinite copies that I can step into when I pick up my game, my vibration. Live like you are already dead and start creating the reality you want to exist in and then it will be.

I remember Swedenborg talking about the heavenly realms and he said that new spirits into the heavens were able to spend time in the places of greater love and compassion, but many of them left because they didn't want to be in those places of quiet, harmonious contentment. They wanted more stimulation, pleasures, action etc instead. I can image a few viewers starting this video, experiencing its calm, warm, soft-spoken, thoughtful, considerate cast, but then going to an action movie trailer instead, because they couldn't handle its peacefulness. They'd be doing the same thing now that they would do in the afterlife! :-)
how about robert monroe when he was in OBE can still pinch someone physically? and he did verify it when he came back in his physical body, and that someone he had pinched had a visible pinch mark.
It is a very real thing and we can all achieve it if we put our minds to it. Look up "how to astral project" websites and videos if you are interested...reddit and Facebook are good communities also. Everyone is different but I was able to achieve it after a few weeks of studying and becoming comfortable with the idea of going on a journey to another place and not fearing the unknown. Fear will hold you back and keep you in your physical body. Love and light prevails all in the astral.

Also, will there ever be a period of contraction where everything comes back together again and exists as one momentarily before another cycle of expansion?
I have learned, though not witnessed, that the material worlds expand and contract, but not the pure states of clarity consciousness. My feeling is that even the pure spiritual states of consciousness keep expanding into dimension which our human awareness is not even able to enter into or comprehend. So what we perceive, even in a state of cosmic consciousness, may only be the tip of the tip of the tip of the iceberg, beyond which are states of conaciousness simply beyond our human grasp or evolution8. Once we reach the top of the mountain we simply realise that we have reached a new valley surrounded by higher mountains still.
These wonderful experiences are STILL part of the dream. But WHO is the dreamer - this is the question. No one can answer it and therefore people going back to their mind's world, taking these experiences like they have some sense, but they don't. All awakened people will tell - don't pay attention to it, it's just an experience and there is zero sense in it. They bring you farther from Reality. Go beyond all experiences, it is where you find the Truth.
There is no need to go beyond all experiences when it is you creating them all for the sole purpose of _self_ exploration. In the same manner, trying to find the truth may be somewhat meaningless, when the truth is already an integral part of you. But of course, you may not find out about this i'm saying until you get there so to figure it out yourself. Enjoy the moment which you are generating your own self. Be here and NOW.

Personally I think it's good to have multiple techniques in your repertoire because sometimes one will work for me one time but not the next (probably because I'm being impatient). The rope method and the roll/rock method are definitely my two go-tos though.

These all amazing and great experiences are Just experiences and they are nothing to do with Reality. It is still part of Maya, doesn't matter how great and profound they are. On a relative level everything exists - this world, karma, astrology, ghosts, parallel worlds, etc etc. But people who are Really awakened do not pay attention to it, they don't take it too serious. They understand it's all Maya's and the mind play. Distractions from the Reality. But most of people enjoying this, because you can grasp it, but Reality you can not grasp and most people loose interest on it. Minds want to grasp.
Veronika, everything in life is experience, in fact there is nothing else but experience. To say these experiences are not real, are an illusion, is like getting up in the morning, having breakfast, going to the dentist and having a tooth extracted and saying "this is not real". You know it is real when you feel the pain. The crucial point is, and I think that is what you may be driving at, that we are aware, that we are rooted in the awareness that experience is not an "outside" or "separated from us" occurrence, but that in fact we ARE the experience.
To say "it's all Maya" is missing the point of reality. Reality is all there is. Reality is in everything that exists. The moment I realize this fact, that reality IS, I awaken, because awakening really means there is no otherness, no outside world, just the reality of that which is. So when I am out of my body, observing, I am in the same Here-Now reality as I am when in waking life. Awareness of this fact is the crucial point, not some otherness or a "Beyondness" which can only be experienced when we stop seeing that actually exists. Awakening cannot happen outside of the reality that is. It is here, now, regardless of how reality presents itself to our senses. Awakening is the recall that consciousness is one, is here and is right now. To recognize it regardless of our perceptional input, this is awakening.
I am not saying that these experiences are not real. I just wanted to say that for really awakened beings these interesting experiences what this man talking about will be still just experiences! And nothing more! Going to the dentist, driving a car or having an experience of parallel worlds will be absolutely equal. It is still a Maya play.. Although, for the rest of the people of course it sounds interesting and profound, and just more entertaining and entangling in fact for our minds. Minds would definitely enjoy this. And of course, everything is One, and these experiences too. They are just not that significant as they sound for most of the people. It's what I want to say. Sorry, I know it sounds disappointing.. :)

Veronika you are treating these things Jurgen describes as pictures on a movie screen (which of course they are on one level), but what is even more important than where you are or what you see is the revelation of the spirit that you experience within you that can accompany these seemingly outward experiences. Jurgen Ziewe has mentioned many times the spiritual realizations he has had that accompany some of these experiences. Naturally we can all listen to, and somewhat grasp, the descriptions of the places and beings but it impossible to understand the spiritual realizations unless you have also had them, they cannot be described adequately in words. So focusing on the "realness" vs. "illusory nature" of outward experiences misses the point of what is important. It is like if someone has visited Paris and is telling you about what Notre Dame looked like, you can maybe get some idea of a picture of it but you cannot experience what they were feeling in their soul when they were actually there. That inner experience that goes beyond words is precisely what is most important. You have to go there yourself in order to have that, but maybe if your friend's description is stirring enough, it may inspire you to make the journey for yourself. Having said that, I agree with you that there is a level of realization that goes beyond all manifestation, it is a realization of the ground of existence which actually transcends all dualities like "exists" or "does not exist". It is not itself a being or an existent "thing" but it is rather the source of all beings and things. The amazing thing is that at our essence we ourselves (and everything) is precisely that ground, as paradoxical as that seems. Somehow, at our deepest level we are that ground which cannot be said to exist, nor can it be said to not exist. sorry to go on for so long, but these things are the most fun to explore. :-) And many thanks to Jurgen Ziewe for all his books and videos that inspire so many people to explore!

Having said that, I agree with you that there is a level of realization that goes beyond all manifestation, it is a realization of the ground of existence which actually transcends all dualities like "exists" or "does not exist". It is not itself a being or an existent "thing" but it is rather the source of all beings and things. The amazing thing is that at our essence we ourselves (and everything) is precisely that ground, as paradoxical as that seems. Somehow, at our deepest level we are that ground which cannot be said to exist, nor can it be said to not exist.
