You realize that Barr's "summary" meant nothing? Barr applied for the job to Trump with an 18 page resume detailing how he would never find a sitting president guilty of crimes, so trump hired him. And he delivered on this promise. If the report truly exhonerated Trump, the GOP wouldn't be fighting so hard to keep it quiet. It will be leaked, or it will be subpeonaed. Though it's been reported to either 300 or 350 pages long, so you know damn well there's a lot of dirty laundry in there, because clean laundry doesn't fill an investigation report like that.

For over a year I had been preparing for this possibility. Kept telling others yes there is a lot of smoke so it's hard to immagine there is no fire. A rise in right wing nationalism, a praising of the wealthy as lords of us, an urge to return to “the good ol days”. However when that’s your prime focus (what you mostly talk about) every person not under that blanket (straight/ white/ Christian) thinks so you’re not going to anything for me and my family, you don’t care about us. Now I know that is selfish for them to think this way and people like me who are a leftie don’t see things that way. But to the people who don’t lose sleep at night thinking about how awful it is for black people or LGBTQ people they want to know what is this candidate going to do for them. The people who voted for Obama in 2012 and Trump in 2016 are clearly not liberals (obviously), and their vote is needed to win. They voted for Obama over Romney because that’s who they thought would do something to benefit them, they didn’t care that he was black, they didn’t chose him for diversity, they chose him because they knew Romney was out of touch with the common man and thought he would only help out corporations (and they would be correct). Saying Medicare for all for example affects every non affluent person even the cis white ones. Now it disproportionately benefits Latino and black people as they have more people in need, but voters will respond favorably because it is based in fairness and addresses a problem in their life. Always campaign on matters that affect everyone before talking about subgroups. I’m not saying a candidate should not mention issues which affect minorities. But in swing states they don’t vote on BKM or LBGTQ rights and they aren’t too fond of how much immigration we have. We lose their votes when our candidate isn’t singing to them and the other guy is. But have faith we are learning.

For over a year I had been preparing for this possibility. Kept telling others yes there is a lot of smoke so it's hard to immagine there is no fire. But it is possible the report won't say what we want. Despite all that preperation it didn't help. Jaw still dropped to the floor, still super sad. Randy you encsulated my feelings perfectly.
I am trying to accept the possibility of a permanent Republican rule. It's difficult. For the 1st time in my adult life, I am seriously sick of not having representation and may never vote again. I have 3 things from the Democratic party that I was supposed to attend to, not responding since this "report". 60,000,000 voters put Trump in office? I cannot fathom their motives. This nation is terminal. It's not Trump, he exploited a situation building up way before I was born.

A rise in right wing nationalism, a praising of the wealthy as lords of us, an urge to return to “the good ol days”. Each time it happens the pendulum swings as far as it can go and then swings back the other way again. We pushed the pendulum pretty far left by having a black president, passing gay marriage, health care for us peasants, etc. The right is a bit triggered right now and still is. But it will pass, as the reality TV clown car starts breaking it’s axels while running us over people will start to wake up and see it for what it is. This always happens it just takes time. I am unsure if Trump will lose in 2020 but I am near certain if he does that in 2024 you will see an actual blue wave.
The left needs to learn three important lessons from Trump if they want to win. 1. Do not ever ignore the working class. 2. Get away from the old status quo corporatism. 3. Never make the focus of your platform and campaign social justice. Now 3 may sound vulgar at first so allow me to explain. Every left wing candidate should be for social justice in a big way. However when that’s your prime focus (what you mostly talk about) every person not under that blanket (straight/ white/ Christian) thinks so you’re not going to anything for me and my family, you don’t care about us.
Now I know that is selfish for them to think this way and people like me who are a leftie don’t see things that way. But to the people who don’t lose sleep at night thinking about how awful it is for black people or LGBTQ people they want to know what is this candidate going to do for them. The people who voted for Obama in 2012 and Trump in 2016 are clearly not liberals (obviously), and their vote is needed to win. They voted for Obama over Romney because that’s who they thought would do something to benefit them, they didn’t care that he was black, they didn’t chose him for diversity, they chose him because they knew Romney was out of touch with the common man and thought he would only help out corporations (and they would be correct).
Saying Medicare for all for example affects every non affluent person even the cis white ones. Now it disproportionately benefits Latino and black people as they have more people in need, but voters will respond favorably because it is based in fairness and addresses a problem in their life. Always campaign on matters that affect everyone before talking about subgroups. I’m not saying a candidate should not mention issues which affect minorities. But in swing states they don’t vote on BKM or LBGTQ rights and they aren’t too fond of how much immigration we have. We lose their votes when our candidate isn’t singing to them and the other guy is. But have faith we are learning.

I got involved in county and state Democrat party to voice my concerns about the direction of the DNC. If everyone tunes out, nothing will be done. At the national level, you are correct of their focus. Their communication needs improvement, honestly all citizens deserve equal rights and security net. The media doesn't help at all either, conservatives have poured money into labeling Democrats as evil[Fox, talk radio] and the uninformed believe. I don't mean to bash true conservatives who have some ideas I can agree on, not many of them left though in power especially in my state. The Republican party uses the uneducated Evangelicals for votes on abortion, LBGT issues who will not give up against those 2 issues. I have family, friends who are of that community who are human, should not be subjected to that hate or violence. I know people who have had an abortion, glad that is was a safe medical procedure and they lived to have children. Tired of hate I guess.
The actions of McConnell since 2009 Inauguration night spurred my interest. We the people are under attack by the billionaire class and need to fight as though our lives depend on it. But not amongst ourselves. I believe in the Jefferson ideals. Our country has lost its way if we no longer value education, art, nature and that quaint old document called the Constitution.
Reading about McConnell's blocking of the release of Mueller's report, his stacking of federal courts and the new company from the ashes of Cambridge Analytica has me seriously worried that all 3 branches are now captured. I hope you are right that the country swings back to correction mode, keeping my fingers crossed it won't be too late to correct the damage done.
Sorry for my rambling rant, I will pull myself out of the depression. I refuse to be selfish and only think of myself as some are. We are human, it's hard to think farther than our own interests. The sun is shining now that perked me up and listening this again. Thanks for your response and hope.
