    Coldyron & Steele sounds like it would be an enjoyable series for Friday night. Keep that funny robot, too.

    IIRC R.O.T.O.R. was an unfinished prototype that was let loose on the world too early. Which could potentially address the horn and the keycard thing.

      admittedly i'm not an expert in how to make killer robots, but i really think that a remote should be one of the first things you put in a prototype before anything else

    Have to say I'm surprised by the lack of Rich Evans quotes/references in the comments for this one. Not that I'm complaining, mind.

    Thank you so much for the shout out! Love the review! Though it was made in Texas but wouldn't be surprised if it was filmed around the border to save money :)

    Haha! I'm definitely going to have to look for this.
    You guys should have a look at the craptacular mutant killer cat movie UNINVITED. Features a very bored looking George Kennedy, the guy with an eye patch from Airwolf and the wonderful line "Nothing's gonna stop me getting to the Caymans" which I've taken on board as a personal motto.

      I think I found mine in a Mill Creek collection. And the RiffTrax guys skewered it.

    Absolutely loved this movie! It's like if Ed Wood made Robocop. The dialogue is bizarre and delightfully terrible.

      Dark Corners Reviews I did funnily enough, though I've been watching Dark Corners for a while. Both great reviews, what a movie!

      I saw their review and we got a little bounce in views, but since yiu commented i was able to test my theory. AVGN was a big influence in starting this channel.

      Dark Corners Reviews Ah marvellous, happy to confirm. I'm a fan of both channels but Dark Corners appeals more to my cynical British sensibilities. Here's to many more!

    Great review including a promotion for a tv show on CBS using this movie and it was entertaining.
    I'm wondering if that flaw the sound of a car horn is a flaw that the scientists haven't fixed otherwise it's a remarkable flaw.
    I was amazed when I saw this on Comet because I noticed this is ripping off The Terminator the whole robot that continues to pursue 1 woman with the intention to kill her, also Roboop because of a scientist that creates a advanced Cop that is a Robot which has programing.
    Also ripped off Judge Dredd the whole futuristic Cop that can judge and execute.

    If prisoners were subjected to this movie run on a continious loop, it would likely break them. What a useful tool.

      Sounds like a winner. If the last device was a R.O.T.OR, the next device will have to be a S.T.A.T.O.R. - Super-Trooper Armed Terrorizer on Roads. Pour oil on the roads and film the crashes. That will cut out the costs of crashing vehicles and stunt men.

    It's as if the producers were bound and determined to make one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made. It's so bad it's good and it quickly pulls you in. A must watch for 'bad movie' aficionados that is guaranteed to bring endless laughs!

    What is with the music stings in the film? Sounds like the composer hitting the same synthesizer key over and over.

      No talent I guess. 80s music can be good if composed well. But this soundtrack is kind of bland.

    When he says "I don't know what anything you say means" literally sums up the ENTIRE MOVIE. He doesn't even begin to touch on just how nonsensical the dialogue in this movie is. Seriously, the exposition in this movie is so disjointed that there is no way to understand what they're talking about. It starts off with him talking to two lawyers (I think) about the breeze across the ranch and a buttery sun glowing through the windows of the house. Not exactly how I would start a story about how my robot went nuts and killed people.
    They built a robot to combat crime that hasn't happened yet, but they also seem to be talking about creating the crimes that ROTOR will be fighting. Coldyron even says so himself, "either we control society or it destroys itself".
    There's this (what feels like) ten minute dialogue between Coldyron and a commander (of something) that makes absolutely zero sense in the slightest. They talk about how Coldyron needs to deliver "product" in a month instead of the "maybe a prototype in years" (not to mention he says maybe 25 years it'll be working when in the meeting), but only a short while later a very complete and working ROTOR is up and walking around killing people.
    Also this boardroom meeting toward the beginning where Coldyron is explaining what ROTOR is and what it can do, every one of the board members who ask a question do so by saying their name and a random quote. These random names and quotes are actually names of the Beach Boys and the name or lyric of a Beach Boy's song. Very strange.
    While I love the 'short and to the point' videos from Dark Corners, this one movie could use a whole hell of a lot more about how bad it really is.
    And since he gave away the ending anyway, that wasn't just rope, it was actually primer cord that blew up ROTOR, it's heavily foreshadowed in the first five minutes of the movie.

    I missed the part where did they have to shove the key in?

    • @DarkCornersReviews
      @DarkCornersReviews  9 лет назад

      Alex Cardosa That was a little unclear, he kind of held it up infront of R.O.T.O.R and then Lady Rambo jumped him.

    • @alexcardosa8079
      @alexcardosa8079 9 лет назад

      Dark Corners Reviews Yeah that kind of what it looked like lol, in the actual movie its a bit more complex in that when he tries to use the key ROTOR stick his gun in his face and our hero almost gets his head shot off. lol, then lady HE-MAN basically shoots him and then bare handed tears his chest innards apart. Then she gets kind of electrocuted or bear hug? (its such a convoluted movie) Then we go to the crazy rope scene. If you want a good laugh or cry depending how you like really bad B movies you should see this movie and do the drinking game every time ROTOR can't seem to fire strait or grab a person.

    This movie could easily be a sitcom tv show I could see it now, combine dukes of hazzard with terminator and robocop, mixed in with bad dialogue and even worse acting, and for the sake of humanity add a laughtrack, and now you have a "hilarious" sitcom

    This movie really makes you wonder what the makers were smoking. And who would build a robot so slow, clumsy, and so incompetent? He's a joke compared to Robocop and the Terminator! And seriously, if the Terminator from the first movie was as pathetic and incompetent as ROTOR, then Kyle and Sarah could have easily defeated him within a few minutes. Probably less than that. And really? Tying the robot up with wires? How is that going to stop him?! He could easily break free! Hell, ROTOR wouldn't last even 5 minutes against the T-1000!

    Most movies this atrocious were filmed by amateurs using amateur equipment. They look as bad as they are. The cinematography of this movie looks professional. Some of the sound is OK, but the dialogue ADR is a joke. The protagonist Coldyron might not have had a single line of dialogue where the sound matched his mouth movements. This is one of the worst professionally-made movies I've ever seen.
