    I have both the USGI canteen cook set, and the Stanley cook set, I like both, but I love the Stanley much better. That kitchen in a bag is pretty awesome, great for car camping. Great video Donny!

    Hey Donny! About 2 years ago I did the same thing. It saved me a lot of time and it kept me from forgetting things. The hardest thing for me was finding the perfect bag. Thanks for the great video

    That BCB Crusader kit is dang neat. I'm surprised that it comes with a plastic lid. But as you said, it'll be good for using it with a stove. Too bad about that leak, though with the canteen. Maybe a new O ring? I do dig that it also comes with a plastic cup. Nice kitchen kit, too! Thanks for sharing!

      +Armed Rogue Hi Morgan! A new o-ring is the way to go I think. This is, in my opinion, a very well designed kit. Take care good sister!

    my understanding is if the crusader bot. leaks the lid is to tight the ring is distorted by over tightening the cap I'm not saying this is your problem it is how ever what i hear as 90 % of most peoples issue with that set and a few find the ring seal needs removed cleaned and re-installed

    Great video sir. I love my BCB Crusader MKll cookset. Have taken it on many journeys. Our friend over in Germany has the BCB MK1 which is like yours but the cup has a black coating. Your NATO Canteen is deifferent than mine. It has a flat orange silicone seal. Never had a problem with it leaking. Have a great day sir and thanks for sharing!

      No problem sir! I've been very busy lately. Video to be released a bit later tonight on one trip. Rendering it right now. I'm glad it inspires others. That's my goal with making these videos. I want people to come and experience places with me and to realize that our lands are worth saving and to be as undeveloped as possible. Will be as safe as is possible. You never know in the outdoors but that'swhy I try to choose good gear like that BCB! I don't recall if you said where you purchased it but sometimes people will sell them with counterfeit NATO products and the real BCB CC and Stoves. I'll send you some pics of my bottle on FB so you can see it.

      Sounds good brother. I bought this from a retailer that sells quality gear in my area. I paid $50.00 (ouch) and it did not include the cover. I bought that online. Keep on keepin on Brother!

    What does BCB stand for ? 😀 👍 👍🏻 👍🏽
    4:32 simple fix....use hvy duty tin foil for a lid. Cut an aluminum baking tray (dollar store) to size.
    5:50 simple fix....I use the plastic ziploc bag cut to size. Put that inbetween the cap and container, screw it tight..and it seems to work okay...I do this for all my canteens that I loose the rubber gasket (o-ring) with.
    8:20 Kitchen wife in a bag (How much is she weigh?)
    ..LOL I like this idea...for car camping. Nice clam opening with that bag..love it when there brand new...and get broken in with use. lol
    - put that scrub pad & wash cloth in a Ziploc bag. Add a couple xtra ziploc bags.
    - love your spice kit, nice large containers , for family meals.
    - Trash bags ???

    Bcb started in 1800s for uk military basex in wales. You have a crusader mk1 they go up to mk5. All little different mk2 has a deeper cooker. Suggest it date from 1980s. Cant use spririt burner with mk 1 you need mk2.
    Plastic bottle is bullet proof solid but leak if new. They settle down in time dont over tighten them, if persits change washer or put some vasselene on washer both sides.
    Most ditch plasti cup and just use it out of bottle its about 1 litre capacity, some have plastic cover, which melts if put in fire.
    They also do a folding stove too.
    Hope it helps most bottles ars plastic thesedays, j prefer stainless steel as it can be put into a fire.
    Hope it helps

    I am not familiar with this set. I like the lid. I have a BCB Alice (Type) pack. It is actually a mini alice but not a bad bag. I use it as a day pack or often carry it as a pack for my rain gear in my truck at work,

    Nice set up! I also use that silver Sterno folding stove....about 7 bucks at Walmart and they work great...NOT with Sterno, but as you mentioned charcoal. However I use wood in mine. There are several videos online that show these stoves as wood burners. I consider these stoves to be a really great value. I splurged and bought two! LOL!! They aren't sexy looking, so most of the big YT hosts ignore them. but then that's there loss. >:) I noticed that it looked like you snipped off the heavy wire holder for the Sterno can? I haven't done that yet, but I probably will. 99% of the high priced stoves are designed for boiling only.....and I want to grill as well, and that's where these inexpensive folders come in handy and they are big enough to handle a rather large frying pan or pot as well. As far as the canteens are concerned, I'll stay with my GI canteen cup, canteen and lid like you laid out. I use that cup on both the Walmart stove and on the small Esbit folding stove with the solid fuel cubes, burning at 1300 degrees. (those cubes are also great fire starters as well) Nice review Amigo! AMB from Arizona!

      +Charles Larson Well hello Charles! I believe the Sterno folding stoves are so versatile and inexpensive and AWESOME! I don't know why the big channels don't promote these. Good Lord, I guess they're not expensive or fancy enough. Thanks for watching and commenting brother!

    BCB crusader is a great kit but does your canteen bottle say osprey on it ? if not then it is a copy not a genuine bcb bottle that would explain why it leaks.

    • @DonnyPavoliniOutdoors
      @DonnyPavoliniOutdoors  7 лет назад +1

      whitefox2017 This one definitely does not say osprey on it. Thanks for the heads up brother! I can fix this. I hate rip off things like this. The ROTHCO Co. at least is honest about letting you know it isn't genuine military gear.

    The BCB kits are good, cheap, but are copies. Sometimes the screw threads are a bit jagged, they can be trimmed with a knife or heated metal. Once done they dont leak. Real bottles made by Avon, red seal in lid, have a manufacture date under the NSN.

    That’s not a real crusader bottle. That’s why it’s leaking. The real bottle will have a date on the front and will say OSPREY And no rubber gasket in the lid. What u have there is a type 58 bottle. U need to get a genuine osprey bottle

    • @gordonmurdoch3811
      @gordonmurdoch3811 5 лет назад

      More than likely all you need to do is sand the neck of the bottle on a flat surface to get rid of some moulding irregularities and give the seal something smooth to sit against ( I've been there ). Once that's done these 'rip off' bottles hold water perfectly well. ATB

    • @Surv1ve_Thrive
      @Surv1ve_Thrive 5 лет назад

      Its possibly a BCB (the brand) bottle not an Osprey. Osprey is government issue, heavy duty. BCB is more like for civilians, cadets etc they may provide some issue gear too, not sure these days. BCB produce a good solid mug and stove, the bottle copies are cheaper, bit lighter and dont have the drinking tube for respirator etc...civilians dont need that so it's an ok bottle for everyday use. Tough and most do not leak at all. Check for molding burrs, irregular plastic, on the thread of the bottle mouth. Carefully cut or sand these and it should not leak. The Crusader Mk1 and mk2 are very good systems. I prefer the mk1.

    my friend ill make a simple point that you use the wrong name for the stove with the crusader that design is called the super cat stove to be a fancy feast stove your short the wick and the tomato paste can and there are no holes in the F.F can
