Maravilhoso ouvi-lo e ver tocar, um verdadeiro virtuose do piano.

What he’s playing is so different from what is written in the score? Especially the dynamics. I feel like he’s trying to make the piece virtuosic looking. It sounds like if Debussy was Russian..

Well Bunin was russian so... maybe not a coincidence there.

    ブーニンが弾くとユーモラスで軽快な曲も更に際立ちますね。

Brilliant playing - yes, but M. Bunin should take a closer look at score. Debussy marks it "Allegretto" not "Prestissimo". Much to quick. All the subtle detail is lost in his performance. He should listen to the likes of Gaby Casadesus, Walter Gieseking, or Claudio Arrau playing the same piece.

Zoltan Kocsis somehow manages to play this at a very similar tempo but still includes a lot of delicate nuance, it's quite incredible.

Love Bavouzet's interpretation. Have just come across him and his Debussy is excellent - French heritage!

Brilliant, yes, but too fast. Most of the nuance of rhythm and even harmony are lost because of the speed.

I feel like this happens with a lot of debussy perfromances, there's so much opportunity for fast fun playing. But technical speed should always come second to feeling when performing his works. having said that this performance is brilliant.
