You know it, the best. I have quite a few of their albums from back then and still play them. Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell still my favorites after all these years💝
I usually hate these kinds of posts, but it's been 60 years since this song, and that's older than 90% of the people who will ever read this comment, so yeah can't be mad, long live Marvin and Tammi and long live Motown \m/
Tammi would have been a huge star had she not gotten sick. She was the whole package; talented, beautiful and incredible charisma. It makes me very sad, because she didn’t even have a chance to enjoy her success. I wish she had had more time.

I’ve also besides talking to her sister read every article that can be found today. Look up Tammi Terrell articles in a newspaper called soul and ebony magazine . The quirky chicken dance is also done by all the dancers in Johnny Rivers song Baby I need your Loving on RUclips,I remember my Mother and Aunt dancing like that,in high school it was called the jerk.
I thought she wasn't feeling well. (She would collapse not long after this) At first she seems like she might have been in pain and was reluctant to perform, but she eventually relaxes and gets back in the groove.
This is the best duet I have ever seen. The chemistry between Marvin and Tammi is incredible. Her moves and the way she looks at Marvin knocks me out. What a shame her passing at such a young age. Dr. Doo Wop

Me too! You know what I love about this? They put her on some platform and made her taller than Marvin. Like an equal, not a side piece. She was awesome.
My 30 year-old son told me he likes Tammi Terrell! Hearing that got me to go back to listen to these great songs, which I hadn't heard in a LONG time!! Many young people today don't know what they are missing, but rest assured, there are some who love the old hits and the singers from those great days!!
Eternos e eternos.
I think losing Tammi broke Marvin's heart. His music always had a tinge of darkness after she passed. Marvin had such tormented relationships with those close to him.
He died 36 years today. She has been gone 50 years now. Still they were the best of the best! No one, no one can sing this song like them! Marvin you and Tammy are so missed!!!!!
Marvin Gaye, was never the same, after Tammy Terrell passed away. He adored her, who wouldn't. To top it of, she passed away, at 24 yrs old, she haven't yet reach, the peak of her career. Very, very sad. She was a very strong woman. I surely hope, she found peace after everything she went through, in her short life here on earth. Rest in Peace Tammy, and Marvin.
The sexual tension is what makes this such a great song and performance. They both had really great chemistry together. So sad two legends gone too soon.
I think what they had went way beyond sexual tension hence why they were so powerful together! They had a deep love and respect for each other and for Tammi who had such bad experiences with the boys/ men in her life. She trusted marvin! It was a will they won’t they relationship that ended too soon! I personally don’t think they ever would have even though they were perfect together
Yes! She "acts" the song so perfectly! Also, at @0:42 when Marvin sings about the day he "set her free", she physically goes off and does her own thing momentarily, before rejoining him, waiting for her as he vowed he would.
To say she was the best looking Motown singer is covering an awful lot of ground. I seen some pics of the Supremes and they also were some nice looking girls.

So frustrating there's so little live footage of Tammi. Here she proves what a stunning comedic actress she could have been in films. From 0:43 - 0:57 secs she's goofy, sexy, priceless.
A jealous and cocaine-fueled David Ruffin hit her in the head with a hammer probably triggering the cancerous tumor that would develop in Tammi's head killing her.

…..and all they had to do was simply stand there... and SING! Absolutely love it! At :40 she touches his cheek and her moves and facial expressions thereafter are priceless. Signature Miss Tammi Terrell! I can ONLY imagine what it must have been to see these wonderful artists in a live performance.
I get true friendship vibes. Like, he loved her like a sister/friend in real life, but they have to put on an act. Those that have truly been in love feel and know the difference between loving someone and being IN love with someone. They're barely gazing in each other's eyes. So what about their body chemistry screams being IN love other than the act of selling the song? There is no sexual energy. I guess they did their job and sold some people 🤷🏽♀️. That's what they were supposed to do. Truth is, this man was married and contrary to some beliefs, in spite of their problems, loved his wife, Anna.
They weren't each other's type. Marvin was a very, very honest person. If Tammi was his woman, he would have told us. The reason they were so close is because there were no romantic pressures. The fact that so many folks are convinced that they were more than good friends proves that they really sold it and y'all bought it.
She knows exactly what she is doing to him. I love how she looks at him at 2:00, then points something sweet at him before tilting her head back laughing while closing in.
