Still loving the podcast format and episodes! Been watching since the first episode. I really wish the Adidas Spider-Man shoes made it to your review schedule. Personally, I love those shoes and the art/aesthetic they are trying to portray. I understand Chris' concern about shoe collabs (when it comes to nerd/geek culture) cause there are some collabs that just don't work/look right. For me, though, when it comes to the like the Adidas PS5 Spider-Man, Reebok Power Rangers, Adidas Anime collabs, etc. it goes back to the point of the aesthetic and how I'm able to show my own flare to the fandoms I love.

Saturday cartoons were legit! Growing up in the mid-late 2000s I feel like I gotta watch what the 90 kids saw but also what was modern at the time. 4kids, Cartoon Network, the cw, Disney and Nick hold to many memories!
I agree about comics/pop culture-sneakers collaborations; I think it's cool that they're happening, but most of the time the color ways aren't exactly what I would wear. For example, I was a huge fan of Wolverine as a kid (I still have the first volume and much of the second volume), and as much as I appreciate the Asics/Kith/X-Men collab really going all-out with the box and cards, I wasn't a fan of how the color way came out. Since I don't really buy shoes as shelf-pieces, I just couldn't bring myself to go for that Wolverine collab, despite my love for the character. I'm definitely a fan of the 85 Jordan 1s, so hopefully Jordan brand puts out enough supply to meet demand for the metallic pair. Which sort of brings me to a question if you wanted to answer it for a later podcast: What are the logistics, positives, and negatives regarding an implemention of a pre-order system for Nike/Jordan? It seems like many people are against it, but I wonder if it could be used to better assess how much of a sneaker to produce, rather than having extremely hard-to-get shoes like the 85s or some of the collabs, versus an over-production of shoes like the recent Royal Re-imagined. I personally wouldn't mind signing up for a shoe that I really wanted months in advance, if it meant that I could secure a pair for retail. It wouldn't even have to be available for every shoe, but perhaps for a pair that they expect high demand for. My gut says that there are forces within the brand, manufacturers, retailers, and so on, that are against a pre-order system, but I would love to hear your thoughts about it. I do have a question for the podcast: With nike retroing some of the signature models like the lebrons, kobe’s, the air zoom generation, etc. What other models would you like to see retro? I use to have the Melo M8s as a kid in the home knicks color way, and I was just thinking i’d love to have a pair again since i wore them into the ground and they were great on court. Maybe some CP3 retros? Don’t know if there would be enough demand but i’d love to see nike and jordan try!

Nah the Kith X-men collab was absolute 🔥. The whole experience of opening the shoes not knowing which pair it was really brought me back to my childhood. The shoes are 🔥 too.

I also was wondering if you were into transformers, my son got into it heavily and I watched the Transformers War on Cybertron series on Netflix and it was so so good and now we’re trying to collect all the toys from the show 😂

Marvel has had that licensing deal with adidas for a while…so all the MCU movies have adidas in them, with the exception of Spidey. However, I’m assuming video game licenses with Spidey might be different? Anywhoo….the other name for Battle of the Planets is “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman”, but I always known it as Gatchaman….they have a G on their belts. Though I wonder if they inspired SilverHawks. I have the reverse issue as Chris. He didn’t get into some of the stuff I was in because he was too young, I didn’t get into stuff like Power Rangers is because I think I aged out….especially at the time. Though I really enjoyed the movie they made in 2017, but bummed coz they decided to shelve it and reboot. I thought it was really well done. 🤷🏽♂️ As for worlds colliding, the Turtles and He-man mash-up was surprising but I’m here for it! I’m also hoping they follow through on that Transformers x GI JOE movie!

I thought the Kith X-Men was actually pretty good, it wasnt obvious that its comics collabs if they are on feet. The 85 OG Metallic series is dope af.
