What a message to have received on Pentecost 2024. The preaching of Mr. Washer has a tendency to bring out emotion in me, but today, it is even more so.
To think that God the Father could turn away from His only Begotten, to not look upon sin, as I am sure Christ would have been blanketed in it at that moment, rattles my bones and shakes my soul. What more do I deserve than the wrath of God, but my Savior, He bore my punishment for me.

What i struggle with is how its our sin when being born into it was not fault of our own individually right? So how we be held accountable for something that was effectively born into us from birth?

I don’t feel condemned but I like to do better because of what Jesus did for me. I know I don’t have to as you rightly say that salvation comes by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). But because of this free gift I like to share good deeds with others. Don’t you?

The will of the Father is to believe on the son for salvation. Born again. Once a son always a son. He will never leave nor forsake us. Sealed until the day of redemption. You can’t lose your salvation. You cant work for a free gift. Once saved always saved. Amen 🙏

He said it there at the end, if you are adding any of your prideful virtues that you believe you have or have done on behalf of God for your salvation, then you do not understand grace and what Jesus Christ did for us. You are saying and believing and acting out in your lives, that Jesus isn’t enough. You are actually believing that you can do something more? We are sinners. Without Jesus, without His grace, we do not have salvation, nor can we even come close. There is only grace for salvation because of Jesus, who is God’s son that He is so proud of. I read a lot of the comments here bashing this man. You should pray for someone if you believe they are on the wrong path, not persecute them, that is your pride and vanity. Jesus says that “pride” is one of the many “evil things [that] come from within and defile a man” (Mark 7:21-23). “By pride comes nothing but strife” (Prov. 13:10).
Paul Washer is without a doubt a God fearing man. You cannot deny that he loves the Lord.

God is just and because of that the price for all sin had to be paid. To that end, God sent his only son into the world to pay the price for all of us.
This is how he can forgive.
It is because the price has already been paid. Nothing, not even the most little thing, will ever be swept under any rug. It was all accounted for at Calvary, every I dotted, and every t crossed. This is why Jesus can forgive sins, it is because he already paid the price for all of them.
Here is the prayer that begins your journey with God on this earth and on into eternity.

He does not cover our sin, he is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Thank God that he so loved the world, that he died for whosoever will believe in him, and he died once for all, for all have sinned and fallen short. 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief. Luke 5:32 Jesus said I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 19:10 Jesus said for the son of man is come to seek and save that which is lost. That is everyone because everyone is a sinner, Christ died for the sinner, that is you and I and every man that ever lived. How great a God we serve.
I don’t support Calvinism and therefore don’t support Paul Washer as a teacher. HOWEVER, a wise man once said “it does not matter who is right but what is right.” And I do believe everything that he made clear in this video was spot on and rooted in the scriptures.

Wether its liked or not yes this is true. Thays why we must accept jesus christ when we accept and obey christ giving us a living faith. Genesis states the Sun & moon were created at the same time, which we know to be false. The Bible states there was light before stars & the sun yet claims the stars & sun are the source of light. It also says day, evening, & night happened before the sun. Why did an all powerful God need a week to create instead of doing it instantly? Noah’s arc is impossible. I could go on & on. The word translated "word" here is "logos," which means something said or communicated... like the Bible. Jesus is also referred to as "logos," namely in John 1:1--He too is the expressed Word of God. The only real difference I see is that God is revealed in the Bible in writing (thought and speech) and in Jesus in the flesh. In both, God speaks. And everything God speaks is life (John 6:63).
I have no idea what he is on about. Why can't someone explain Jesus' role in a simple way?
Jesus is essentially our substitute in God's anger. So God is righteous and hates sin and it must be punished but we could never bear that punishment. But He's also merciful so how can He be both at the same time? Answer is He sends Jesus to die in our place so that all our sins are paid for (that's justice) and when we believe in Jesus, then we essentially escape punishment ourselves and that is mercy.

The Father did NOT forsake the Son. That would be impossible for a truly unified triune Godhead. Even the sin of the whole world is not that strong. Read Psalm 22, which is where Jesus was directing His hearers by that statement--specifically verse 24.

Separation from God because of sin was resolved at the cross for those who repent and put their faith in Jesus. See also John 10:28.

Paul why are you preaching such a good sermon to non elect people? You can preach the most wonderful sermon ever but it will not matter to those who are non elect.....right.
It's our responsibility to preach the gospel and make disciples of all nations. God not only predestines the elect he predestines the means in which one becomes elect. Faith comes by hearing. Therefore since we mere mortals do not know who is elect and who is not we must preach to every body we can.

@jolookstothestars6358 If God is sovereign then he chooses who will be saved and who won't. This teaching doesn't sit well with human emotions because human beings are capable of being more merciful. Who amongst we humans doesn't desire every one to be able to go to heaven? Therefore human beings are less just than God is. This is a hard thing to accept but a prudent study of scripture will reveal that truth to you. However at the end of the day what matters most is having a saving relationship with Christ. Washers God is full of Anger. An angry God is a pagan concept. Christ clearly states sins are forgiven when we forgive others. And Washer ignores the words of Christ just as all pagans ignore the words of Christ.

This is blasphemy in the extreme. Father, Son, and Spirit have never, could never, and will never be separated or out of complete harmony. The wages of sin is death, period. Not punishment or eternal torment. When Jesus died that death (as us), we actually died with Him and then we rose with Him.
The Father was in the Son on the cross, reconciling the entire cosmos to Himself. It is finished. That is the gospel and every human being is included in it. No child (genos) left behind. All humanity are offspring (genos) of God, and in Him we live and move and have our being.
OK, every human being is afforded grace through faith. But, aren't the ones who don't have faith allowed to freely be dis-obedient and perish forever.
Your comment (to me) sounds like the Trinity paid it all for us. All of us are His children, and we are all coming home - "no child left behind", you have no choice.
@@paulwiederhold7629 Exactly. That is the good news according to the scripture. It also says that we are chastised and corrected in the process of life so there are consequences to our decisions. But in the end, and death in no way closes the door on this decision, every tongue will confess Jesus Christ as Lord to the glory of the Father. An interesting thing about this verse is that "confessing", by definition of the Greek word, indicates a glad and willing confession rather than a forced or coerced one.
Scripture also indicates we are children of God by His choice, not ours.
Acts 17 is one place that has been overlooked in this discussion. Paul told the idol worshipping pagans in Athens, that they were the offspring (genos) of God and in Him they live and move and have their being. Genos indicates genealogy, parenthood, the place we get our DNA.
This is also consistent with scripture that tells us that as in Adam all die, so in Christ all are made alive. That is an all inclusive statement.
Bottom line is that this very good news is completely consistent with a Triune God that is love and in His omnipotence, omniscience and sovereignty, He had a plan before creation to ultimately bring to pass His will that all of His creation would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
This is in extreme contrast to a god that has the vast majority of his creation stolen by a very powerful and deceptive devil. That is no god at all.

Again, unless I am misunderstanding something Scripture cannot speak out of both sides of it's mouth. It cannot say love God and love your neighbor and then say if you hate God and hate your neighbor, doesn't matter because "in Christ all are made alive". It was the ultimate plan before creation that all the good guys, and all the bad guys would all end up in the same place.

The final scenes in the Revelation show a city with gates that never shut and the Spirit and the Bride are saying come to those that are outside the city. Every tongue confessing Jesus Christ as Lord (willingly) indicates that the "bad guys" have repented.
There is no bad news in that good news.
Also something that the majority have never considered is that God Himself is the lake of fire that purifies everything precious while consuming and burning up wood, hay and stubble as Paul wrote in his letters.

The greatest problem is for practically all christian denominations including catholicism , protestanism, evangelicalism, calvinism, etc etc etc including Paul Washer is ignoring 2 Timothy 3 that this whole chapter spoke about ALL OF THEM. They have rejected the “sacred writing that Timothy knew SINCE CHILDHOOD”- THE SCRIPTURE. Just as “Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses so they opposed the truth”. “They have a form of godliness but without power…AVOID THESE PEOPLE!”

That is totally and completely wrong. If God is good he can and will forgive you. That's what being good is. That would be like saying that we can't forgive someone if we're going to be in the right. Not forgiving someone that has a change of heart and apologizes is totally wrong and is holding a grudge and resentment. God doesn't forgive anyone that doesn't repent but God forgives everyone that does repent and asks for forgiveness. That is a backwards and strange morality to say that God because he is good cannot forgive. And it is equally absurd to say that something or someone has to die before God can forgive. God doesn't require human sacrifice. Jesus sacrificed himself out of love for God and love for humanity not returning the evil that was done to him. Jesus sacrificed himself so that we might receive the Holy Spirit not because God demands blood.
Let’s make ourselves in our imagination, blameless in front of the Father of everything.
Okay, now take that blamelessness away, with let’s say I tell a lie when I should have told a truth, because the Father of everything never lies.
But I lied
How would I repay that sin on my own behalf? That lie has been told, the damage has been done. How could I ask a perfect father to forgive me knowing that I can never wipe that sin away myself? God doesn’t deal with a sinner, that is total separation.
That’s why Jesus Christ is so important.
