    Why don't Viessmann use sliding copper pipework?

      You can update them to copper. It's down to Rgi's judgement.

    Hi Andrew do you know if it’s okay to squeeze the hoses and twist them slightly to get the dirt out?
    a friend of mine said it might damage them

      Same here bro, change them if they feel frail. The main point where they tend to wear is the 1st bend near the heat ex drain valve towards the front. Crud and debris seem to wear it down over time. They block and split.

      Excellent advice mate I’ll keep a look out in future for the first bend where they block,
      I’ve only ever seen one split so I’m not very Familiar!

      @@andrewmillwardwatford9410 hi Andrew can I ask if the brass thermistor At the top of the heat exchanger fitted in the brass elbow is a common failing part? And what symptoms do they give when they are faulty? It seems to have been superseded to a stainless steel part now

    Well half the boiler installs I see the magnaclean is on the flow so not really a surprise that boilers are caked inside.

    • @paulscurfield
      @paulscurfield 4 года назад

      I've fitted loads with a magnaclean on the return and the hoses still get full of crap despite hardly any in the filter. Rubber hoses are a bad idea, shame because apart from that it's an excellent boiler.

      @@paulscurfield I've always seen the hoses as a filter. Each year I clean them removing dirt from the system as I do. Other filter systems just dont work. On the compact the main heat exchanger gets blocked as the hoses are not collecting the dirt in place of the heat exchanger.

      @@andrewmillwardwatford9410 Hi Andrew it’s me again! I must go over to your Facebook forum you seem like a man who likes to experiment? well that’s exactly what I like to do six years ago I fitted a WB1C Combi boiler In a friends three-bedroom property at the time of installation I added to the system fill water A few litres of Volkswagen G13 environmentally friendly nonhazardous biodegradable antifreeze! (Yes believe it or not!)
      Now with all the years of that boiler operating It has never had a dirty plate heat exchanger or ANY signs Of contaminated hoses or any crunchiness in the hoses either! It appears the antifreeze solution seems to heat up faster and most certainly circulates a lot better than any of the other boilers I look after with a noticeable quietness of the boiler operating this could be down to the softer solution making the pumps life easier? I’m not sure? The house is certainly warmer I’ve been told as the antifreeze solution seems to disperse the heat from the radiators very well. The magnetite and sediment seems to be have been kept as in a liquid form the Magna clean seems to pick up a lot of fine black dust particles as well.It’s been an interesting experiment and all in all I think it’s been a successful one , what is your take on this?
