- a holographic video comes out and begins to explain to us the origin of how the transformers came to existence. It all begins with the creator of the transformers called the Primus. to protect the universe, he sacrificed his life for us by transforming himself into a planet called the Cybertron. Inside Cybertron, primus gave birth to the first transformers known as the primes. Primus also created the matrix of leadership. With the matrix in the primes possession, energon flowed in abundance, sustaining life across the planet. Peace reigned in the planet for years but this harmony came to an end when the quintessons invaded the planet and attacked. After that, the matrix of leadership disappeared and the energon flow was gone. This video talks about how Optimus prime and Megatron went from best friends to Sworn Enemies because of their different ideologies. Because of his good heart Optimus prime is given the matrix of leadership which he uses to go on a final battle with megatron

This movie is HEAVILY inspired off the idw comics and thats how it went in idw both of them were miners
14:40 thats exactly what happens in the idw comics, megatron betrayes orion pax and shoots him in the arm with half of his body damaged and gets dropped into a dark abyss where the prime's give orion pax the matrix of leadership

I love how D16 intetionally choose to betray Pax, at first he cherished him as brother, but his ambition of brutal conquest is far too great it led him to see Pax as an obstacle to get rid off.
In this movie, Megatron is not a villain, he is a broken anti-hero

Orion Pax had a different job before he became optimtis prime. D-16 is Megatron himself. Those two went to war before they came to Earth.

most continuities, seems like this movie took the approach to make Megatronus Prime an actual good guy to have D-16/Megatron a more sympathetic turn to villainy
