When you said that mental illness is like a dead end, I broke down in tears. It is so true. As i type this, my mentally ill brother is 300 yards from me standing on the side of the road, talking to himself with a pile a of junk. The crisis team and the courts will do nothing. He has cellulitis in his feet and that can be deadly. He has had documented mental health issues for 30 years. They won't help him. Or us. And he will either die on the streets or kill himself whenever he goes back to prison. Its cruel. And we live in CT, one of the wealthiest areas in the entire US. Nobody cares about crazy people. Or their families. The cruelty of mental illness knows no borders. Thanks for at least trying to help her and her mentally ill mom.

It's tough because crazy people have rights just like anyone else so it can be difficult to get help before they end up hurting themselves or someone else. My college roommate had a really bad case of bipolar disorder that emerged while I was living with him and watching his descent into madness was one of the toughest things I've ever had to deal with. I tried so hard to get him help but he'd never comply and his conservative Christian family were in complete denial. They seriously believed it was Satan and the evil liberal ideas he was learning at our college. Anyway he ended up drowning himself to death in the harbor on Mackinac Island a couple years after school.

I’m not sure where you live in America or where you are looking, but Americans are PROVEN to be the most generous nation of people in the world! I can look on YT and find thousands of examples of Americans doing the exact same thing this wonderful man is doing. It’s extremely insulting seeing you claim no one in America shows this kind of kindness to others. Americans give more money and time to helping people, the environment and animals- not only in America but around the world than any other country ever had. As an example: when the AIDS epidemic was tearing through America and nothing was known about it was spreading, average Americans went into the homes of the dying to feed, comfort and assist those infected- when no other countries people were helping. And in FACT, it was Americans that reached out to the dying and needy in other ostracized communities in countries! When there’s a crisis or disaster in the world- the FIRST country to send help, money and the needed citizens to the area in AMERICA! The Russian people are wonderful and should be recognized. But for you to claim that you see no Americans doing the same things is absurd! Maybe if YOU actually did things to help others you’d see just how many Americans are out helping.

You can't do that in the US, if you went to the village or rather City Hall, and asked for info on someone, other than public info, you aren't getting anything. I stay home utubing, night and day having very little sleep. I do go shopping once every week or fortnight. Its good to catch the bus and see people from the other town. I have neighbours who mow my lawns and phone me if they don't see a light or my curtains closed. Friends and family come or send food but I won't let them in. I am ashamed because I and my home look a mess. One friend travelled 100 miles to bring me a gift she'd bought overseas and I woulzdnt let them in. I am grateful they are forgiving and still love me and hope I will get out this crazy side of my personality soon. Glad food and my garden are motivating me. Christmas too. But > Some Basic Questions:
    > Is the Girl mentally ill with paranoid elements? Or are we talking about Trauma? and / or
    > Is Mother / Grandmother also paranoid? - or
    > Were any of the stories about them being attacked true? (and how to discover the truth - if some thing has happened locally, and locals might be covering up?)
Just because someone has a mental illness doesn't mean they are making up stories. In fact, if they are not local and known to be 'not all there' they can become common targets. Abuse and assault incidents against those with mental or intellectual deficits are much higher than in the general population. They are far more vulnerable and less likely to be believed and predators know this.
    > Why is the girl so afraid? Was she sexually assaulted at some time? Multiple times?
    > If so - When, Where and by whom?
    > Also, the grandmother mentioned an Apartment - Could they qualify for one? If they were allocated accommodation because of mental disability in a town, they'd be less isolated & potentially less vulnerable?
