This version has more hunger and passion than the original which was more ethereal. I like the original. I love listening to this time and time again. Violet's low registers particularly get to me. And how Dan Vasc painted this song and Victor laid it out for us is incredible.
Seal sang a gorgeous song in 1994. I've always loved it. But this! This is magnificent!!! I hope you'll listen to it again without interruption and really feel the power. It transports us to another place and time. Ah, to be young again and in love. Please, more Dan Vasc. There can never be enough. And you just got another sub!
Dan is as usual brilliant AND Violet can always sing in my team. Complimentary voices elevates it to another level. Well done and by the way the metal sound was NOT overcooked. Just right for this song, and the performance. Good review Ken.
Yup- when it comes to "primal" , Dans got it in spades in this cover😋❤!! I very much enjoyed your commentary on these two beautiful voices. Thank you 😊
Would love to see you react/talk about his cover of black wind fire and steel. You still haven't got to see dan go apeshit yet he holds a scream for a full 30s in that one
Thank You for your spirit of joy in hearing this duet. I have heard it several times and you pointed out some new things for me. I never could have imagined that any female would be able to hold their own with his voice, but Dan is so brilliant in arrangements and thoughtful to all of his collaborators, that it always sounds perfectly balanced in volume and technique. What a find he has been for me since I first heard him last spring. Hope you on enjoying your journey on the Vasc Train as much as I am!! 🚂☺
If youre going to listen to more Violet Orlandi I definitely recommend her most recent version of Like A Stone and her version of Hallelujah. Unbelievable!
His voice, talent and hard work will take him to the world of the biggest world stars! Dan blew up RUclips! The internet is talking about this boy! God given talent! The miracle lives in your throat! .....and the hard work that got him this far! This boy is a real combination of talent, hard work and determination!!!! 😇
Between reading the comments, listening to this fabulous collab and the your great expressions, both visual and descriptive, I’m full up! This was great! Loved it 😊
I loved the tension in this version. Seal's version was polished, as you say, but I hadn't realized how downright sexy this song was until I heard Dan and Violet's version.
Violet Orlando's vocals are incredible. This song barely scratches the surface. She has some incredible videos out there to really showcase her ability. I HIGHLY recommend her cover of Chris Isaac's Wicked Game. It is a complete solo and stripped down to really show her vocal range. Hauntingly beautiful
Dang! I just love your similes and metaphors: over-caffeinated woodpecker; more hooks than a pirate convention; as polished as a licked lollipop! Bravo! 😂
Absolutely one of my favorite covers, definitely check out more from Violet, she is up there as one of my favorite vocalists period. Check out her "Wicked Game" cover or her newer(because she has two of them) cover of "Like a Stone".
When I first heard this cover, I went and listened to Seal's version after many years of not bothering with it. It's too sleepy. This cover is so much better. So much more energy.
Violet Orlandi and Leo Moracchioli's collab on Roxette's Listen to Your Heart on Leo's Frog Leap channel is outstanding. I think you'd enjoy it. You've already reacted to some of Violet's work with Halocene, Lauren Babic, Audra Miller, etc. Those were great as well.
I like hearing your reactions. You do not put the singers down on the contrary you do look them up and you do have a voice yourself :-). I think you're the best actually as far as vocal coaches / reactors. I started seeing you when you first reacted on Dan vasc and I appreciate it your reaction toward him. I also think him and violet our amazing you should hear them on her Channel singing patients, amazing again. Great job
Dan, Violet are great Seal is legend just from this song alone. It's a crazy song in theory. Great cover though. Incredibly renaissance music theme. I love this song sooo much since I was a kid.
Not much else to say about their vocals beyond what you and others commented. The way they arranged this song made it for me -- being a huge fan of Seal's debut album, this song was quite the departure and not my cuppa. Enthusiastic review as always, and please keep it up with the analogies; my fave was "more hooks in it than a pirate convention."
Violet has done a lot of work, in addition to her solo vids, with Halocene and Lauren Babic. My favorite collab with her in it tho is with Leo Moracchiolli
Yowza. Seal's is lovemaking, but Dan and Violet are far hotter. I am being polite here. Great choice, super reaction. Dan did a super job not over-singing his duet partner, and with his super strong vocals that had to have been hard, but Violet does not shrink at all.
I love your reactions and have heard your concerns about how Dan pushes his voice. According to an interview he warms his voice up the day before and then doesn't speak to anyone after the recording. It's part of the reason he prefers doing his videos to live performances.
Oh good old songs... It was a very pleasant performance to watch and listen to, thank you! By the way, I can't wait to watch your reaction video to the live performance of Summertime by Cem Adrian. I guarantee you won't regret it. I have watched different people's reaction videos for that performance but I am very curious about yours. It's something completely different...
That "Beach Boys" reference to me is a reminder how we used to sing in school. Was called a "round". Singing different lines of a song but ending at the same time. Or am I wrong?
I was wondering when you get back to Violet, it's been over two years since you reacted to ' Don't Stop Believing' and 'Chop Suey". This was my favourite period of hers, the songs she put out including the album she redacted due to label issues were some of her best work. I will say that her current sound doesn't resonate with me as much, but I'm still a fan.
I am with you on this sentiment, I still adore Violet but her current musical choices don't vibe with me much anymore. Her sound choices seemed to have shifted rather drastically after she got a stable band working with her on the regular so maybe their influences rubbed off or maybe she just wanted a change on her own.
Dan Vasc is amazing! May I also suggest checking out Tommy Johansson. From Sweden and Does metal covers like Dan. I would love to hear your take on him!
Violet Orlandi continues to amaze. What is up with that lower register of hers? It sounds like she's dropped her larynx a bit to deepen her timbre and bring some weight to the lyric. I still prefer Seal's original, but I really enjoyed this. And I always enjoy your insights, Ken! I had this crazy idea just now that I'd love to hear you cover September Song, by Kurt Weill. I think you have the control in your mix to bring some nuance to it. Please consider taking a run at it. I'd also love to hear you react to Angelina Jordan's new original release, Now I'm The Fool, from her brand-new EP Old Enough. It's fiery firefulness. Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/8BXCVY_-RmU/видео.html
Dan Vasc’s voice is out of this world 🔥
Violet’s ain’t so shabby either
Universe, YES! He's Awesome ❤
The three of them absolutely killed this version, in my mind. I don't see how it could have been any better. Thank you for your reaction.
This version has more hunger and passion than the original which was more ethereal. I like the original. I love listening to this time and time again. Violet's low registers particularly get to me. And how Dan Vasc painted this song and Victor laid it out for us is incredible.

There is nothing left to be desired on Dan's version of this song. This was performed with perfection.
What a wonderful reaction.
Funny I've never found that song very special - until now.
I LOOOOVE THIS VERSION.
Dan is as usual brilliant AND Violet can always sing in my team. Complimentary voices elevates it to another level. Well done and by the way the metal sound was NOT overcooked. Just right for this song, and the performance. Good review Ken.
I like their cover very much, Dan and Violet's voices fit very well together. They also did "Patience" by Guns'n'Roses, it's on Violet' channel 😉
Yes, and it's FANTASTIC! 😀
Dan Vasc absolutely stunning❤. Great collaboration.
Dan's voice is amazing. Violets smoky sound with opera tones is awesome. They both did amazing work. Love the video.
I liked your reaction. Violet and Dan sound so good together.
An over caffeinated woodpecker? As polished as a licked lollipop? Awesome reaction, analysis, and analogies
And don’t forget “This [song/version] has more hooks in it than a Pirate’s Convention!” 😂
@@karenm5681😂
Dan is SOOOO talented and the colab between Dan, Violet & Victor is pure perfection.
Blown away all the reactors giving their opinions following eah other. Omg omg what a peerformer. I love it. xx❤
Loved your review! There is nothing Dan can’t sing! I loved the original but this version is stellar! Looking forward to more Dan! 🎶🎶
Dans cover of the Music of the Night from phantom of the opera is my newest favorite showcasing his varied vocal brilliance.
Ohh yeahh it’s so perfectly performed and deeply touching that it takes us to a divine realm
And the duet All I Ask of You - just a superb!
Yup- when it comes to "primal" , Dans got it in spades in this cover😋❤!! I very much enjoyed your commentary on these two beautiful voices. Thank you 😊
Great reaction to a terrific performance by both, they brought a new refresh to this beautiful song, hope Seal sees this version some day
Ken, late Medieval and Renaissance polyphony is an explosion of beauty, no need to apologize for loving it! I'm very fond of Dufay.
Would love to see you react/talk about his cover of black wind fire and steel. You still haven't got to see dan go apeshit yet he holds a scream for a full 30s in that one
"Sounded like an overcaffeinated woodpecker on the drums,,,," Your descriptions are great!
If youre going to listen to more Violet Orlandi I definitely recommend her most recent version of Like A Stone and her version of Hallelujah. Unbelievable!
Hell yes. These were the exact suggestions I was going to make!
I love this version of this song. They did a great job
Always love watching your reactions! Your analogies are so amusing!!! Thanks for the smiles. 😊
😇
Absolutely love this version, two amazing voices ❤
I've always loved Seal's version but this one blows it out of the water. This cover is totally addictive. Love your reactions, Ken.
Fantastic arrangement; great reaction!
dan vasc is the real Vader of vibrato
Between reading the comments, listening to this fabulous collab and the your great expressions, both visual and descriptive, I’m full up! This was great! Loved it 😊
Awesome rendition
I loved it. Great pairing of voices
An EPIC cover of this song! 💪
Beautiful!!❤❤ Thank you🥰
I love this! Dan & Violet compliment each other soo well.
The 'hooks in a pirate convention" comment got me good 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent reaction!
It’s Violet’s video featuring Dan. I listened to another one of hers with Dan’salso. Victor ia soooo good, he’s plays on a lot of Dan’s songs.
Please react to Dan singing Nessun Dorma from Puccini’s Turandot. It gave me head to toe goosebumps. Would love to hear your analysis of it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes🎉🎉🎉🎉 you'd love it so much!
I loved the tension in this version. Seal's version was polished, as you say, but I hadn't realized how downright sexy this song was until I heard Dan and Violet's version.
Hi, tks for your reactions and support 🇧🇷❤
I'm in love with your dan vasc reactions! You're joy is so intoxicating 😂❤❤❤❤
Amazing❣ I love this one 👍
I loved your reactions and comments. So cool. Listen Black Wind Fire and Steel feat. Luis Mariutti (bass guitar). Is very insane. ❤ Rio-Brazil
Dang! I just love your similes and metaphors: over-caffeinated woodpecker; more hooks than a pirate convention; as polished as a licked lollipop! Bravo! 😂
im so blindly in love with Violet cuz of this song and Take me to church cover she does. lol they nailed this
"Polished as a licked lollipop" I bursted out laughing at this XD XD XD
Absolutely one of my favorite covers, definitely check out more from Violet, she is up there as one of my favorite vocalists period. Check out her "Wicked Game" cover or her newer(because she has two of them) cover of "Like a Stone".

DAN VASC Voz linda espetacular!!!!!! Obrigada pela sua reação.
They are absolutely amazing together!
I think a lot of Dan’s music is primal. He pours so much emotion into every one.
I love your reactions, Ken. More hooks than a pirate convention, love it. You always make me smile.
great insight and technicalities Ken... got to learn so much about the singing styles.. keep up!
Those were great as well.
been on my playlist for years
I would love to hear it on the radio!
Loved all your descriptions! Chef's kiss, pirate hooks, etc. Subbed.
The "Renaissance" feel you describe comes primarily from the 3/4 time signature. This song is a Waltz.
Violet Orlandi ft. Halocene - All the Things She Said is a pretty cool cover
I like hearing your reactions. You do not put the singers down on the contrary you do look them up and you do have a voice yourself :-). I think you're the best actually as far as vocal coaches / reactors. I started seeing you when you first reacted on Dan vasc and I appreciate it your reaction toward him. I love your reactions!😊😊😊
Violet has done lots of collaborations and she is always a standout. I hope you find some of them.
i just love this vocal recording. great job Dan and Violet
Dan, Violet are great Seal is legend just from this song alone. It's a crazy song in theory. Great cover though. Incredibly renaissance music theme. I love this song sooo much since I was a kid.

Awesome rendition!! My favorite!
I love this version! My 10 yo also loves this and sings it bouncing around the house.
Thanks , these two sound great together.
imo one of the best cover ever!
Dan is just an incredible singer, and she’s no slouch either!
Essa versao com esse trio ficou maravilhosa , intensa!
They did a version of "Patience" on Violet's channel - equally marvelous!!!!!
Awesome love this version of Kiss from a Rose 🌹 ❤❤
You WERE “very nerdy?” Oh, Ken… 😆😂🤣👍
I really like this version. Violet is sultry and a perfect mathh with Dan’s.
Super cool verson. Loved it!
Love both if their voices toggether
Ken I love your reaction, all of your reaction. Just wanted to see if you would react to Dan singing tears of a dragon amazing try it, thanks!
I teary eye up every time I hear his rendition!
Great choice!
I like the sinister energy of the song. Ite melody has been playing with my brain all day.
"More hooks than a pirate convention", I'm stealing that one, Ken!
I love your reactions and have heard your concerns about how Dan pushes his voice. According to an interview he warms his voice up the day before and then doesn't speak to anyone after the recording. It's part of the reason he prefers doing his videos to live performances.
Liked your comment's. . The singers sound great together.

I absolutely despised the original, but both this version and Dan's solo cover in 2016 and 2017 are absolutely amazing!
How to describe Violet's voice.
(ahem)
Her voice is so smokey that a bear with a park ranger hat showed up to see what was going on.
.
How's that?
I WAS IN A COMA AFTER COMBAT MAN I KNOW HOW THAT SHIT FEELS BROSIF
That "Beach Boys" reference to me is a reminder how we used to sing in school. Was called a "round". Singing different lines of a song but ending at the same time. Or am I wrong?
oh ya, very good covers. halocene, along with cole rolland, and lauren babic work very good with them on chop suey by system of a down
I adore their rendition! Dan was his usual awesome self.
Listen to Ingebjørg Bratland From Norway❤ - Eg elskar deg ... BEAUTIFUL😊
I love your reactions and I would like to see a reaction to Nessun Dorma by Dan Vasc.
I was wondering when you get back to Violet, it's been over two years since you reacted to ' Don't Stop Believing' and 'Chop Suey".

Hey, you should check "Triumph - Lay It On The Line - US Festival 1983". I bet it's going to surprise you. Absolutely underrated vocals.
Dan Vasc is amazing! May I also suggest checking out Tommy Johansson. From Sweden and Does metal covers like Dan. I would love to hear your take on him!
And the guitarist for Sabaton! Don't forget that part
Violets, voice is like a well aged 12 year old scotch
Violet Orlandi continues to amaze. What is up with that lower register of hers? It sounds like she's dropped her larynx a bit to deepen her timbre and bring some weight to the lyric.
